Marble & Granite reviews in Ponte Vedra Beach

Great service. They came and measured and brought samples, then I went to the shop to see larger slabs. The selection and prices were both great. They even include the sinks. Everytime anyone had to come for measuring/installing purposes they were right on time. I chose them because of all the great Angies List reviews and I have to agree with them all. Great conpany. Mar and Antonio responded quickly every time I had any questions.

This was the best home improvement job I have ever experienced. Woodworks delivered on every single thing they promised. For the initial estimate, Jack was punctual and professional- as I described to him what I was looking for, he totally got the entire picture and he offered wonderful suggestions on ways to improve those ideas even further. I cannot say the same thing about the other companies who I called for estimates. I quickly decided I wanted to go with Woodworks- I had a tight timeframe and they were absolutely willing to make it happen. I went to the showroom to pick out cabinet styles, finishes and hardware- they had everything I needed right in one location, which made it simple. While respecting my preferences, Jack was also great about offering suggestions for what works and doesn't work, based on his experience on other jobs. The input and recommendations were extremely helpful. Moving on to the installation... I wish I could convey how amazing Arron and Tyke were on this installing this job. If you want punctuality, professionalism, kindness, understanding, respectfulness, attention to detail, then look no further. They took their time with absolutely everything and treated all aspects of the job as if it was for their own family. They made sure every piece of trim was perfectly placed, every drawer rolled smoothly, every piece of cabinet hardware was installed in the correct spot. I am not implying they were slow or inefficient. I am simply trying to share that they did not cut any corners or make me feel like I was "just another job". They cleaned up after themselves 100% at the end of each day- there was no trace of dust or debris, even after the demo days. They would ask me my preferences on things as they were installing to make sure that it was as I wanted it. Without a doubt, Woodworks will be the only company I call for my next cabinet job.

I had bought and/or supplied most of the needed material.  Mr. Harrington's crew purchased some of the material (e.g., thin set; cement.  I had also bought the pool/patio door, the shower stall door and the shower plumbing hardware.
The folk Mr. Harrington hired to finish the shower stall and tiling were professional and did an outstanding job. I have no problem with them.
Not so much with replacing the pool/patio door.  The persons which Mr. Harrington hired were far from professional in appearance. I am not looking for suit and tie, but certainly did not expect a dirty yellow no sleeve shirt.  They replaced the door but did not use finishing nails to replace the molding; they used some nails with heads on them that needed a nail punch to push the nails beneath the surface of the wood....they did not even attempt to use any caulking around the molding and did not caulk under the thresh hold, allowing bugs, small snakes and reptiles to get in!!
Net-net: Caveat emptor. I had to finish the wood work and caulking around this back door and sanding/repainting the entire frame.

Tony DiCecco and his wife Diane were a pleasure to work with. Diane was extremely helpful and responsive to all inquiries and went out of her way to help us get the best deal on the tile we chose. She made scheduling the job very easy. Tony was a great guy. Extremely knowledgeable about the tile business and offered us plenty of tips about how the tile could be installed.  Tony carefully explained the whole process and checked in with us during the work to make sure we were happy with the product.  The tiling job is excellent with great attention to detail.  The B for punctuality is just because sometimes we weren't sure what time Tony was going to show - but he always showed and worked late into he evening to get things done so we didn't consider this a big negative.

Here is the message I sent to them with NO response other than to cash my final check:

I am less than satisfied with the work.  Specifically, I cannot believe you left my house with the drywall damaged and the mirror sitting on the floor, right when I had a showing to sell the house.  I shouldn?t have had to call you back to fix the damage you caused and to hang the mirror, and it should have NEVER been my responsibility to find and schedule a contractor to fix the mirror that YOU broke.  I was also surprised that I needed to hire someone for $450 to install the hardware on the sinks that were supposed to be part of our arrangement.  It would have been nice to know that when we were initially discussing the price and work.  And I still don?t understand how a business that takes credit cards doesn?t make it easy for their customers, and have a process to take payment over the phone.  Even when I was in Florida, I had to drive to your shop to pay you.

Perhaps you would have done better if I were in Florida supervising your work, but this whole process has been painful and cost way too much of my valuable time.  We paid you a lot of money for an amateur experience.  Overall, I am dissatisfied with the whole transaction and will reflect that in my Angie?s List review.

I purchased granite through Home Depot. It took me several phone calls to schedule an appointment with J&J to check out the slabs. Than it took me three anointment to select a slab as they didn't have what i need. They made a template and explained to me that if i want a vanity top without a seam I would need to have back and side splashes. I agreed to the backsplash but they still made a seam. When I asked about the seam (and I have an email to prove that) they said it was a misunderstanding on my behalf. I had to leave for work and when I came back they installed wrong sinks! I asked for the situation to be corrected and they sent someone to look at the top. He tried to convince me that it is ok to and it looks good with the small sinks and it would be more damage if they remake it and replace it. I contacted HD and they convinced J&J that it needs to be replaced. It had been more than a month I still don'y have a replaced top and my vanity is not working. They are unresponsive and it takes a phone call to HD to get them to respond to any of your inquiries. Don't use them. They are a bad news.

Provider was to provide granite and installation for kitchen renovations.  Met with them twice in march, paid them 50% deposit on 3/23 after they made phone call to ensure granite i chose was available.   They were to secure slabs and hold them until install in May or June when contractor was ready.   On 6/10 template was done; on 6/11 i paid the remainder of the amount due.  They were to install the following week.  On 6/16 they called and said they don't have the granite that i chose on 3/23, and that they wont have it for at least 2-3 more weeks.  WHATTTTT?  I paid in MARCH to ensure my granite would be ready for install timely.   They took the rest of my money the week before.   They NEVER told me that my granite wasn't there waiting for the order ALMOST THREE MONTHS EARLIER.   Then they sent me all over town looking for the same granite so they could buy it. No one had it, i found another granite that was acceptable and they won't sub it because it costs $10 more per foot (according to wholesaler who has it).  They're also unwilling to provide any compensation/discount for the delay in install-- and as of today, they're saying what i chose and paid for will now be another week or two delayed.  My contractor reported that they had my slabs but sold them and thought they could replace them in time that i wouldn't know. DON'T USE THEM, they're shady!

    • Mike La Fontaine, owner and operator of Premier Home Remodeling, did an absolutely fantastic job. He meticulously oversaw, and performed much of the work involved in our complicated master bathroom remodeling that included installation of new cabinetry, replacement of all plumbing fixtures, installation of marble counter tops and bath tub trim, installation and upgrading of lighting, installation of new closets and an ironing center, and repainting. He was always prompt, cheerful, flexible and more than willing to accomodate changes and alterations to the original plan. He was always readily reachable and accesible, and for the vast amount of his own time he invested in the project his charges were quite reasonable. His choice of employees and sub contractors was also flawless, every one of them truly professional, well skilled craftsmen, and a pleasure to work with and have around our home. The beautiful outcome of our project would not have been possible without Mike's expertise and atttention to detail in carryng out our plan. I heartily and highly recommend MIke La Fontaine and Premier Home Remodeling for any bathroom, kitchen or similar home remodeling project you may be contemplating.

Nice of Jack Brust clearing out the bad reviews... not sure how he did that.
Don't ever use these guys.  They are really available for you doing pre-sale but bail out on your inquiries during implementation.
    I guess some pros:
    - nice cabinets
    - the granite company they used are really great guys
But this job was a con job with lots of cons!
    - crew broke in my house to start the project (since wife and I were at work and told them we were on our way).
    - the job PM not being around
    - plumber was late
    - foreign nationals used for tiles - not sure if they were licensed/legal
Too bad the old reviews are not listed anymore... this is a terrible vendor and I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.
