After spinning our wheels trying to figure this out on our own we turned to iHealthBroker and are so happy we did. Jesse is very knowledgeable and responsive. He made the process so much easier and we feel like we were able to make a truly informed decision. I highly recommend him.

At first they were very responsive and seemed to provide good inputs.
I did submit an application through them and was told that they would contact the carrier and request an earlier effective date than what auto-filled on the application.  At the same time I was told that the "underwriting" process would only take a day or two and there should be no problem getting the earlier effective date.  I was also assured that she would be handling my application all the way through the process.
Six days later I still had not heard from anyone.  I tried to contact this company and found that they hide their telephone number.  It is not on Angie's List or on their website.  When I finally found a number it only goes to an individual's voicemail.  After many many attempts, I finally got through to someone who then provided me with a direct number to the person that I was working with.
After an hour of attempts, I finally get the person that I had originally worked with.  She told me that my application was approved and the effective would not be changed.
I wasted nearly a week with them and am now do not have time to find another carrier with the effective date that I needed.
The only service that they provide is to enter your information into a comparative rater that spits out the results.  They then do a good job at hiding and are very difficult to contact.
There are many good websites that do exactly what they do.  If I ever need to do this again, I will certainly use someone else.

I can't stress enough how important it is to know what your co-pays are for specific procedures BEFORE you have them done because you cannot ASSUME what Baptist's billing department is telling you is correct.
On more than one occasion I have been told I have a certain and quot;Co-payand quot; for a procedure, only to find out, after the fact, a copay wasn't even required.
I was scheduled to have an Ultrasound on a certain date and called to and quot;pre-registerand quot;. I did so and was told I had a $200.00 co-pay that would be required the day of the ultrasound. I cancelled the procedure because 1: Something didn't sound right in regard to the and quot;co-payand quot; and 2: I couldn't afford the $200.00. I Immediately called my insurance company to find out if this required and quot;co-payand quot; was correct. They said that this was considered a simple diagnostic and it was covered 100% with no copay. Additionally, I will add that my out of pocket max had been reached for the year. The $200 was for MRI, CT and Pet scans not for the Ultrasound that was specified with the appropriate CPT code.I called on the morning of the 7th and asked to speak with a supervisor about this. She put me on hold and further stated that my insurance clearly states I have a $200.00 copay. I called my insurance company again and they questioned where she was getting that info because it was very clear that I did not have a copay for an ultrasound.
They told me to call her and give them a specific number tho have her call them.
I called and gave her the number but she refused to call and said she would put it in the and quot;notesand quot;. In the meantime, I guess I would still be expected to pay a $200.00 copay for a procedure that was covered by insurance company 100% with no copay.
I previously had a similar problem with an x-ray that they told me I had to pay upfront for even thought my insurance paid 100% of that also and no required co-pay. 6 months later I get a check for overpayment and that's when i started to understand how important it was that you check your insurance and the required copays BEFORE you had any diagnostic work do. BTW - I have United Healthcare and I have to say that they were very helpful in trying to clear this up for me and get Baptist to understand they could not charge me a co-pay for these procedures. However - after giving this information to the specialist who ordered this ultrasound, they sent me to Precision imaging - where I had no problems AT ALL!
Be vigilant in what your health care costs are!

I'm on Medicare and my supplement recommends that group to go to. They're a good group. Their facilities are nice. They've taken good care of me. The doctor who took care of me is one of the best doctors I've ever had.
