    Pick of the Litter II
The owner is always very friendly and my dogs have never had issues going here. My dogs are very sensitive to certain shampoos and one suffers from severe skin sensitivity. I have never had an issue with this salon. I also love how she provides you with a "report card" on how their day went while there.

She was bleeding from her rear and the tips of her ears when I picked her up. There was so much chaos and socialization going on among the staff at the front desk that I basically was given my dog and sent on my way. No one talked to me about where she had been cut too close. No one ever called to follow up or ask if I wanted to schedule again....It was weird & we didn't go back. Inexperienced groomer possibly? I guess it didn't matter....they weren't concerned with my experience or retaining me as a customer.

    Canine Companions Inc
This is now called Blooming Paws.  I have been going here since it opened as Canine Companions.  Their boarding services and grooming services have worked well for us.  I have 2 labs.
BUT...we started using their vet services when they added a veterinarian to the business.  Dr Jones was fantastic.  We used the services in the summer as we live in other cites during the winter.
A couple years ago Blooming Paws got a new vet, Dr. Victor.  We decided to go meet the doctor, get check ups and have some blood work done, as my dogs are getting older and they needed some arthritis meds.  Flags went up when Dr. Victor couldn't draw blood from my Lab.  This is the first and only vet that we has not been able to do this.  Again, we live a lot of places and my boys see a lot of vets.  I let this pass, but there were more incidents that raised flags throughout that summer.  I let those pass, too.
This summer, when I arrived back in Bloomington, I called Blooming Paws to make appts to get bordatellas done and come in to give them the boys updated shot records.  At that time I asked if they administer Adaquin shots, and I had the medicine.  They said no problem.  I then came in for my appt., got our bordatellas and gave records.  I also made future boarding arrangements and again inquired about having Adaquin injections the day I pick my boys up from boarding.  Again, they said no problem.
Adaquin is an injection given to animals that have bad arthritis.  It helps rebuild their muscles and cushion their joints.  When you start adaquin, the shots are front loaded and there is a process to get your animal started.  My boys have done this process and are now on their once a month dose.  If you don't continue with the once a month dose you have to start the whole process over.
They day I came to pick my boys up from boarding, Dr. Victor refused to give my boys their Adaquin shots.  She was such a coward she could not even come out of the back to tell me herself.  So summing this long story up...I inquired multiple times to have Blooming Paws administer my boys adaquin shots.  Multiple times they said they would.  Then the day of appt, they refused to do it.  When I would have been happy to get another vet in town, make an appt and have the shots done. boys are late for their shots.
With all the experience we've had with Dr. Victor, needless to say we won't be using her services.  Without going into all the incidences, by far she is the worst vet we have ever used.

Pauline's employees were friendly and prompt. The appointment was on schedule and lasted one hour as estimated. The finished product was exactly as I had described. My dog looked great and was not nervous or distressed from being there. I would recommend Pauline's to others.

I  had one of my Goldens bathed and brushed.  I had been given an
estimate over the phone, at which time I was told that I was being
charged for a very large dog. (which Duke was), however when I picked
Duke up the fee was LESS than the original estimate because Duke was so
    easy to groom.
I was real happy with the work done on Duke, the price, and the friendly atmosphere.

They are excellent and very attuned. They write everything we ask them to do for our dogs in an index card and keep it. They are very meticulous and careful. Our dogs love going there, so obviously they got good treatment.
