Garage Door Repair And Installation reviews in Ponce Inlet

    Magic Overhead Door Co
My garage door spring broke approximately at 7:00am this morning. I called and left a voice mail as my SUV was stuck in the garage and I couldn't get to work today. My neighbor helped me to open my door manually and I was able to get my SUV out. When I called the business, around 7:45am, to leave another message that I was able to get to work now, my phone call was taken then and I was told the springs would be replaced today. Sure enough, my neighbor notified that my door was repaired around 11:30am this morning! Awesome service! Thanks!!

    D and D Garage Doors
The installer was very well organized and neat. Took away the old door and related parts. While testing the door the opener lost it's motor capacetor and was replaced the next day by D and D. The door seems to be very well made and was approved by the Port Orange code inspector.

These guys are the best! After dumping the first company that tried to screw me over, I called Magic. They were wonderful.  They showed us exactly what was wrong, then told us what it would cost to repair it. They promised to be out the following morning and they were - on time too!

Not only did they repair it, we got a coded keypad and two, new openers.

From now on, these are the only people I'll call when I have a problem.

I guess because we are older he figured we were stupid. Without ever actually touching our garage door motor, he determined that we needed a new one. For $500, we could get a motor with NO WARRANTY. For  $700, we got a motor with other things thrown in AND a warranty, but for everything that needed to be replaced to 'help us in the future', it was a whopping $900. Of course all these had a special discount applied.

When I need a repair, I don't need a smorgasbord of pricing -  I just want it fixed. When the sales pitch didn't work, we asked him to send us an estimate, which he did, then he charged us $65 for coming out.

This is where it gets interesting.

He told us we would never get a better price on a motor than what he was giving us. He was right. That's because we didn't need a motor. We needed a new motherboard. That and a tune up on our current system and a special keypad and new openers came t at $325 . . and we got a warranty.

It's mind boggling that these companies stay in business.

Chose a 3 panel steel very well insulated door with all glass windows on the top panel, belt driven openner with 2 remotes and one keypad entry. This was the most expensive of the doors that were considered. Gave a deposit to place the custom door order. This is a very heavy door with bigger springs. After removal and before the installation I had to do some structural repairs so they came back right away to complete the instalation. The door looks great and is quiet. Some of the decoration hardware was incorrect and was reordered and will be installed at a later time.

When James came to my home to see exactly what I wanted and to give me an estimate, I noticed he did not try to sell me something I didn't want or need. He explained everything about the product, parts and process and took the time to answer my questions.
James is not only the owner of the company but is also the installer and has a helper with him so he knows exactly what workmanship is going into each job. Both men were prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. I am very pleased with the service and finished product.

the tech was very thorough and professional. After inspecting our broken door he told us what needed to be done to fix it  and the cost. Our garage door now works like a brand new door. We  are very pleased with the workmanship and outcome. Would definitely use this company again.

The technician, Hector Rios, called to let me know he was on his way.  He actually showed up a bit early for the appointment.  He was very friendly and professional, and did an excellent job.  I can definitely recommend Precision Door Service.

    Overhead Door of America
Sunday, I went to open my garage door, and it wouldn't open.  I called Overhead Door of America.

This is what to expect when you call them:  They said they would try to get someone out on Monday (Memorial Day).  So, I waited.  They then called and said that they wouldn't be able to get someone out, but that they could be there first thing Tuesday morning, and that they would give me a discount because they have 24hour service, but they were unable to come out.  I thought they would be here around 8 am.  They called and said they'd be here between 10am and 12pm.  They did show up a little after 10.

After looking at my door, they tried to sell me a new door.  .  I told them my door was solid wood and Id be crazy to get rid of it. So, they were able to fix it--They replaced the springs.

The door needed a new battery.  I asked how much that would cost.  They said it would be $100.  I called up another place and I was able to replace the battery myself for $28.32.  He was going to make a big profit on that.

If anyone calls for Overhead Door of America, I wouldn't recommend them.  The guy that came out was professional and fixed my door, but in terms of pricing, you'd better have your lawyer present.

    I never saw that discount.

One of the torsion springs broke on my garage door. Some garage doors have one, mine has two. They are the large springs at the top of the door that allow the garage door opener to easily lift and close the garage door. When one or both of these break, the weight of the door is too much for the opener to lift the door. I checked on Angie's list before I called a company because I heard from a neighbor that had been charged too much for a similar repair. I called 2 of the companies listed and was impressed after Jim Atkins returned my call. He is pretty much a 1-man show so you may have to leave a message for him but it will be well worth your while. Jim promptly called me back and set an appointment for the next day. He was genuinely concerned if my car was trapped in the garage (it was not) and said he would have come the same day. Jim showed up as promised and quickly fixed my problem. I had him change both springs (only 1 was broken) since they were old. He have me a discount for the 2nd spring - $75 for one spring or $130 for both. Jim was very professional, repaired my garage door quickly, and then took a lot of time to lubricate and adjust the overall operation of my garage door, all at no extra charge. I highly recommend Atkins Garage Doors and will definitley use them again if the need should arise.
