I had received four estimates for this project, which included repairing some rotted wood, and repainting my decks. Although Jaco's estimate was the highest of the four, I was impressed by his knowledge and professionalism, and decided to hire him for the job. I'm so glad that I did!!! Although I was out-of-town during the time that he worked, he stayed in contact with me to let me know how the job was progressing. When I returned from my trip, I was pleasantly surprised to find out what an excellent job that he had done. He later returned to do some touch-up work, and I am definitely pleased with the results. THANK YOU, JACO!!!!!! YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Culver Crew LLC
Mr. Culver has the ability to implement and carry out job tasks set forth by the contractor. He always was on time, and did the work to the high standard I expected. He is responsible and respectful of not only the Contractor, but other subs on the site as well. His kind demeanor is an asset when working with homeowners. Change orders for Mr. Culver are always " no problem!". He is honest and hard working.
Mr. Culver moved to North Catolina a couple of years ago. If he had not, I am confident he would still be working on my various jobs.

    Schoenherr Const Co Inc
Well, since this provider never bothered to return my phone calls or respond to emails, it did not go well.
At least this provider gave me an idea as how responsive he would have been had he been hired, so it's just as well.
Fortunately, there were several other companies that were more than willing to contact me, and I'll never have to bother with this one again.

    Affordable Aluminum
Greg arrived as scheduled to provide the quote and seemed professional. I liked the fact that he was the only company I interviewed who would do their own concrete work. The other companies specified that the work would be contracted out (that was OK) and they would no be responsible for the quality of that work (not OK.) I should have known better.
They had dirt hauled in and built up the area for the slab which surprised me. That wasn't specified in the contract and left very little slope if any to the slab. On the day of the concrete pour, I heard the crew yelling "Water!" It seemed that the concrete was setting up faster than they could handle and they dragged out one of my hoses to wet it down. The crew left - the owner Greg had not been on site. Half an hour later it began to rain hard. Knowing that rain would be pouring off the roof because they had removed the gutters, I ran outside and threw down some flattened moving boxes to absorb some of the impact. The crew did not return until the next day and the slab was a mess. They brought out a grinder to try to grind down some of the unevenness but the slab surface was still wavy and uneven. As it dried it began to crack badly. I realized that I could not tile it as planned and eventually had to use concrete pavers to cover the cracking and unevenness.
The aluminum porch went up without incident, although there are empty screw holes on one door frame where they must have mounted one of the doors incorrectly and had to re-hang it. Some time later when we began to get heavy rains the gutters overflowed and caused the porch roof to leak. I called several times before I could reach Greg and he promised to send someone out to fix the gutters and also to fix the door latches that did not work. They never arrived. After repeated phone calls I finally reached Greg and he said that his crew came out and no one was home. Turns out that I was home the whole day and no note was ever left at my door to indicate that someone had come by.
I finally gave up on this company. I used some washers as shims to fix the door latches and I called Ted and Bob's Aluminum Construction about the gutters. They were great. They came out, corrected the problem and added two additional downspouts. The roof still leaks where it attaches to the house; I suspect this is because it should have had more slope.

    The Concrete Store
I am very pleased with the service I revived from the guys at The Concrete Store. They showed up when they said they would be there. The finished driveway is better than I thought it was going to be, it is amazing. They did the job that we agreed on and even helped me take out some debris from some yard work I had done. When they were finished they left the property clean and free from any trash/debris. I will definitely call them for all of my concrete needs in the future.

    Pinellas Remodel, Additions & Decks
We contacted Sam Desmond on Friday for what we feared would be a complicated -- and costly -- job replacing a badly damaged wooden foundation beam beneath our stilt house duplex in Crystal Beach along with replacing three rotten deck boards. Sam arrived ahead of our scheduled appointment on Saturday, assessed the damage, explained in detail how he would make repairs, and sent us a written estimate via e-mail later that evening. He then arrived promptly on Monday morning and had the whole job done by mid-afternoon! Our tenant was not inconvenienced in the least by the work and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. But the best part? NO SURPRISES! Sam did what he said he would do and charged what he said he would charge. We will definitely call on Sam again if the need arises. Nick and Catherine Klasne

Dan came and I indicated what I wanted done - resurface lanai, remove planter, seal waterfall and another planter. Dan gave me the idea for the separate drain where the planter was. First the planter was removed and the coquina rock that it was made of removed. Next they put down a skim coat to smooth the original pressed concrete surface. Dan decided that it needed another layer and did another skim coat. Then they cleaned everything up and laid down the acrylic knock-down coat. Then the surface was painted twice. The last thing was to re-do the expansion joints.
