    Merritt, Dr. Henry

    Appointment was terrific!

He took an x-ray that showed arthritis. He gave me a shot, prescribed an inflammation decreaser, and suggested daily Epson salt soaks.

I feel wonderful! First time in 5 years! I should have done this years ago!

Going back on 1/7/16 to report the good news!

I see Dr. Moren. As long as you make your appointment in advance it's good. Trying to get in at the last minute unless it's an emergency is kind of difficult. You got to plan ahead. The office is good, nice. Easy to get in and out of most of the time. The staff is very nice and cordial.

When I walked in the door I have staff starred right at me
like what was I doing there. They had just called me the same morning to
confirm I was coming.  The staff has no idea who has appointments and who does not. This is very unprofessional and
does not make a new patient feel welcome.
I waited almost 4 weeks for an appointment. I was on the cancellation list never heard from them.
I was told to be early at least 15 minutes to do paperwork and so I do not hold up the doctor.  I arrived 19
minutes early filled out the paperwork within 8 minutes.  However, the staff held my insurance card and
driver?s license without offering to give it back.   There was no one else in the waiting room
waiting to be seen by the doctor.  After 20 minutes another patient came in. Clearly her appointment was after
mine.  I again waited and finally after 55 minutes I watched the staff call the women in.  After 60 minutes I asked to use the
restroom.  Staff said you can come back meaning to a room and use the restroom.  I got out of restroom and was told to go back to the waiting room that I now I have to wait longer.  I indicated I would wait another 15 minutes.  Then the staff began
to harass me and tell me I was the problem and reason I was being delayed from seeing the doctor.  This is not true.  I came in early did everything they asked and sat reading for an hour.  This is a poorly run office with the Doctor not in control.
I also told the girl on the phone when I made the initial appointment that I needed an annual physical and blood work.  While at the office after I fasted all night, I asked if they needed urine they said, no.  They have no idea what is going on.
Additionally, Dr. Sheikh clearly states on the fee consent form that ?In consideration of the provision of medical services rendered by Rock Island Medical Center, Wiqar U. Sheikh, M.D., to the above named patient, I assume full responsibility for all physician charges for such medical services rendered to the above named patient, derived from deductible and coinsurance
amounts as well as any amounts NOT covered by my insurance carrier, from the actual physician charges.?   This is not
right.  It appears Dr. Sheikh chooses to get his full fees in addition to and regardless of the payout of the insurance
    company.
This Doctor and his office staff wasted many hours of my time and I never received treatment this is unacceptable and unprofessional.

P.S. I overheard several phone conversations the staff had with patients that they could not get an appointment until October.  May be you can wait but when I am sick I cannot wait that long.

I have been to multiple other podiatrists in which they all prescribe oral medications.  One podiatrist even removed my nail, but to no avail grew back with the fungus.  Then my primary recommended Dr. Cohen.  She is fantastic.  She does not believe in the oral medications.  She prescribed a topical medicine as well as a laser treatment.  Now six months later my toe is fixed and I can actually wear closed toe shoes.

    Mayo Clinic
I have been going to various specialists at the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville since moving here at the end of March 2015.  So far, so
good.  The results from the course of treatment ordered by the hematologist have exceeded my expectations.
As yet I have limited experience with the billing department.  I have taken the opportunity to consult with the finance office staff located in the Davis Building and they have been pleasant and responsive.
I am disappointed that I am not able to use the Mayo Clinic for primary care because they are not accepting new Medicare patients.

My wife both go to different offices and the quality of the work doesn't differ in either office. They're expensive, but we have a good health plan and you're going to get really high quality stuff all the time. You don't have to worry about it. The only one time I had anything wrong, it was very quickly corrected and taken care of. They have really fantastic web applications so you can download your health data and all sorts of stuff. They're very progressive, in terms of availability of documents and stuff like that and test results. It's not like when you go to a regular doctor and they have you see a specialist that you have to drive across town to see one. All my information is readily available online. I could download and have all my tests and everything for the last 10 years. Not many doctors give you that stuff.

I found him on Angie’s List. He was just a single guy. He was good. He is fine and a nice guy. It’s not at all hard to get in to see him. The office is nice, clean, and very modern. I had no problem.

I get updates for my prescription from him.  I like the way he works, he is thorough, he knows his stuff. He answers all my questions, he does take time with you, and he does not try to brush you off with anything which many doctors will.  I think he is good.  I have never had trouble getting in there whenever there is a real problem.  I never had to wait more than 20 to 30 minutes at the most.

Worst experience in my 36 years with a medical provider, office manager, multiple nurses, and OBGYN.
After setting up my first appointment with Marin Rands as my previous OB was no longer covered by my ins, I got a call from intake and they asked a lot of detailed questions about the reason for my visit. On the day of my appointment I arrived 15 mins early and filled out the typical paperwork including info on my pregnancy. After waiting over 45 mins I was called back by a rather unfriendly nurse who proceeded to answer her personal cell phone two times while getting my vitals. I was left to wait another 45 mins in the room when the nurse finally came back and said I was to follow her for my ultrasound? I was taken to a room and left to wait another hour. After the ultrasound was completed I was collected and made to wait in yet another room for close to an hour. The nurse came in to tell me Marin would be in soon and at this time I told her I was upset I had been waiting so long to which she replied "don't get mad at me!". Finally Marin Rand came in and I advised her how long I had been waiting and asked why I had an ultrasound. She replied because I had not had care before and she needed to make sure all was ok. I replied that I have been under the care of an OB since I was 3.5 weeks, have had 6 ultrasounds and gave all this information to the intake person who called me after I made the appointment. She replied she could not find the intake sheet so just assumed this was my first visit! She did not think to ask me? Or look at the paperwork I filled out when I got to the office? THEN she LEFT the room saying she would find out what happened making me wait even longer! She came back with the office manager who assured me I would not be charged for the ultrasound. Marin then said "lets get you scheduled for your next appointment" Really? I had to demand that she address my issues which she made me feel rushed through. She then advised me to go make my follow up appointment and she would bring out my prescriptions to me. I ran into the office manager in the hallway and she said I could leave that Marin could call those in. I got a call when I got home that Marin cannot do this and that I need to come back and get the prescriptions! Well I got busy and then had to leave town. Unfortunately while out of town a migraine hit and I did not have my prescription. I called the on call Dr and was told she needed to call me back. 2 hours later no call back and I am in a lot of pain so I call back and am told that the Dr is in a delivery and all her calls are being held but she will call me back shortly. 5 hours go by so I call back and am told a different Dr called in a script for me hours ago. No one notified me of this so now the pharmacy is closed. I had to drive 45 mins to a 24 hour pharmacy.
Fast forward a week, I am now back in town and out of the few pills they prescribed and have yet another migraine. I leave multiple messages asking for the original script to be called in (the previous one called in was a diff one and just a few). The nurse waits till after hours to call me and I cannot reach her back. Next day she does not call me back. THIRD day and she leaves me a message saying a drug was prescribed to me that never was and that she finally called in a few more pills to the pharmacy. I also left a message for the office manager who has yet to call me back. OH and Marin Rands was to call me by noon after my appointment after reviewing my file and never did.
    TERRIBLE!
