    Steve's Home Improvement
The initial quote was close to our budget $225k. The (first) signed contract became $256k. In the middle of construction, after he was told many times that my parents were exhausting their savings in building the house (after we were already deeply into the project), we were told that Mr. Angiolillo required a new contract for $306k (or the project would stop); after we begrudgingly signed that (second) contract, after another number of months, Mr. Angiolillo requested a new contract for $352k, which we would not (could not) agree to (Mr. Angiolillo explained that this would pay for most of the work, and my 78-year old father, and 67-year old mother could, get a mortgage, in order to pay him the rest. Thats when we started looking into ending our relationship with him. For the most part, the work that was performed (done by Angiolillos subs) was good there were some issues, such as the omission of a dryer vent, and some small head scratching issues, but most of the issues were not in the work, per say, but with Mr. Angiolillo, himself. He became erratic fighting with one of his subs (that apparently, returned much later in the process, but whose departure GREATLY slowed any work being done) involving a lot of cursing and ethnic slurs, and after that time, I saw less of Mr. Angiolillo, at the site, and when I did see him/hear from him, he was clearly not in good condition (slurring words, sometimes incoherent), and claiming that things were costing more than he had planned, and a lot more money would be required to finish his project on a day he was onsite, when a set of fiberglass doors (Jeld-Wen) impact doors, ordered from Home Depot (a brand he had recommended, and which cost about $4100) arrived, was impaired when he used a box cutter to help me removed the packing material, in order to inspect the doors he put a big scratch on them (in front of me), then claimed he did not do it. On another day, he appeared at the site, to install windows, and was clearly impaired we saw him stumbling around, while carrying the windows, cursing, while claiming he would, install them himself (since his sub had stopped coming to assist him) shortly later, he appeared to be working on the window framing. My wife and I left him to his work, when , later that same day around 8 or 9 pm - my wife told me that she saw his truck still at the job site, behind our house, and she said she was worried he was dead. We went out to investigate, and he was passed out, with his tools strewn throughout the yard, keys in the ignition, car doors open it took several minutes to wake him; he was conscious, but looked very impaired, and did not speak, at first. I helped him recover a little and I helped him pick up and put his tools back in his vehicle; he spoke of issues including a car accident, and trouble at home. The aforementioned set of $4100 doors were hung, by Mr. Angiolillo (himself), and another worker, and when we examined the work, found the doors did not close (had to lock them in order to keep them from opening), and were scratched badly, on all sides. Much later, Mr. Angiolillo claimed that my parents had caused the issue by leaving the door open, to blow in the wind, and that, inferior Home Depot paint, was to blame for the scratches in the door and for this install, he priced it at $2100 higher than any rate I could quote, from anyone else. To cite another example, of this same behavior, one of Mr. Angiolillos last projects worked on for the guest house, was to paint the house (which he was fired, before it could occur), install drywall, stucco, and insulation. He quoted the painting work at $10k-11k, the drywall, stucco, and insulation at $35k. Since our split with Mr. Angiolillo, as our contractor, we had the work quoted by 3 additional, local contractors painting averaged between $3500$4500, drywall (smooth) was $8k, $1k for insulation, and $2k - $3500 for stucco. On another occasion, when I spoke to Mr. Agiolillo, he expressed frustration that my parents told him, that they were unable to come up with money, beyond the scope of the numbers they had (begrudgingly, and nearly exhausting their savings to do so) agreed to on the $306k contract, he stated his belief, that, they (my parents) has $500k to their disposal, but they just wouldnt give it (the money) to him. This practice of price exaggeration, constant demands for huge sums of money, past numbers on his own, signed contracts, bordering on extortion, and Mr. Angiolillos own erratic behavior, are my parents biggest issues with Steves Home Improvements of Palm Beach, Inc., and less the work, with any of its flaws. God help anyone who hires him for this type of project!

    Swings & Sheds
Avoid Swings and Sheds at all costs. This man agreed to assemble a Swingset for us a week ago. He agreed to 10% off the price he initially quoted. He confirmed he would perform the job last Friday. When he didn't show up on time, we called to find out where he was. He then delayed until Saturday. On Saturday, he texted us saying he needed to rest and that he couldn't take the job after all. He referred another company to us, but of course it was too late to get it done prior to Christmas. After going back & forth with him, he agreed to assemble it on Monday, only if we paid full price. Since we had no other options, we agreed. On Sunday, he once again delayed, this time until Tuesday. Today we texted him to confirm for tomorrow and now he tells us that he needs to look out for his own family too and is taking multiple smaller jobs to make more money instead of taking the time to complete our one bigger job, as he promised. This man is unreliable, unprofessional and dishonest. Do not trust him!!! He is a con artist who doesn't care about his customers.

It was fine. I got an estimate from them and then I ended up going with somebody else. I did not encounter any unexpected issues. All I had him do was, I paid $50 for him to give me a formal estimate. That was all that was to it. It wasn't like I ended up really using his services, I ended up hiring somebody else to do it. I just had him do an estimate, a paid estimate, which everyone else is doing for free, but I didn't know that at the time.

    KVC Construction Services
They send emails out letting customers know how the company works and pictures of their work. They did a great job gaining my trust. Gave me a great price. Very professional. Great customer service even down to their website. Super easy to deal with. Did beautiful work took about 3-4 or days to finish. They followed up before during and after it was all said and done to make sure everything was going smooth. Everyone I dealt with in the company were great and very nice. They even accept credit cards! I would recommend them to anyone.

    Ziegler Builders, Inc.
Rob Ziegler is a highly skilled contractor.  He obtained all building permits and supervised all aspects of  all other subcontractors and their permits.  ZBI showed evidence of liability and workman's compensation insurance. ZBI provided all administrative resources to support all renovations. ZBI provided daily on- site field management of all operations necessary to complete the renovations. All workers were very professional, punctual, courteous, trustworthy, and hard working. All projects were completed on time with quality workmanship. All projects had a detailed written contract that explained clearly what was to be done, and there was a payment schedule. The last payment was not due until the final inspection and the work completed to my satisfaction.
I would definitely use Ziegler Builders, Inc. again. I highly recommend this company.

    North Star Contractors Inc

All I can say is SERVICE SERVICE SERVICE!!!  Originally, we went to Lowes because we had a 10% off coupon on materials (950 SQFT of laminate adds up) and they were having half off installation.  We experienced delays, lost orders, RUDE Lowes workers who gave us the run around, and chronic mistakes.  A friend told us about North Star Contractors and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! To our surprise, not only were they less expensive (can you believe they beat Lowes prices?) but the SERVICE that we experienced from Renato who became our contractor for the job was a dream.  Seriously, within  3 days of my call,  they came and ripped out the carpet, by day 4 started to install and by day 7 they were done!  Just one call to North Star and Renato had us all done within a week, materials, padding, etc, AND clean up!  Also, Renato was so helpful in guiding us towards a quality flooring AND he offers you design ideas!  We originally picked out an espresso color, which we kept, but on the stairs he showed us options (  that cost no additional money!) for our stairway. The steps your foot touches is still the espresso color but the sides of the stairs going up are a white color, something you see in all the new homes.  Renato treated us like family and took our calls for all of our concerns immediately like we were his only customers.  Our experience was so easy and wonderful that we are now on to our next project of remodeling our master bathroom and want Renato of North Star Contractors to handle it all. Can't stress enough the QUALITY, INTEGRITY, PRICE, QUICK SERVICE and FAMILY FEELING that we took away from our experience.  I do not know how many contractors North Star has, but I would HIGHLY recommend asking to work with Renato.

    Alliance Restoration USA, LLC
On October 1,2010 a pipe busted under my sink and damaged my wooden cabinets and floor.I didn't even know where to begin on finding a reputable company . I called my friend Wendy ,who owns a gym, and she recommended Alliance restoration, who had done work for her previously. I contacted Alliance and they sent someone over that day. I felt comfortable with the representive they sent over. His name was Jared Silverman and put me at ease right away. He said he would contact my insurance company and get my house back to normal .What could have been a nightmare turned out to be one of the easiest and most pleasant projects that I have done!

We were looking at utility sheds for the yard and checked pretty thoroughly until we found this dealer, who handled something that appealed to us, an all-metal shed competitively priced. They were helpful and easy to deal with, albeit a little casual about paperwork. This resulted in our ending up with paperwork for one thing and a shed that was different, in two different ways. Our city, Margate, is stiff necked about these things. Long story short, the manufacturer and the real heroes of this narrative, a company out of Vidalia GA, after two weeks of back and forth trying to satisfy the city, SENT A TRUCK AND CREW AND MODIFIED THE SHED to suit the city, so it passed inspection. They were courteous and sympathetic and the soul of helpful, willing to cut to the chase and solve the problem rather than leave us sitting with an illegal, unusable shed for any longer. Really great people, and we recommend Lark sheds to anyone, as well as Franks, but watch their paperwork!
