    Turkey Creek Animal Hospital
It was another name a few years back, but Dr. Michael Marks owned it before, but he sold it to someone else. We started using him when I bought the farm and they were using him before. It is a private animal farm. I would recommend him to anybody.

The price was $50 or $80/day per animal and we had two cats and 3 dogs in at that time. I want to clarify, the actual vet who owns the clinic is an excellent vet. The people who were running the spa and boarding part are the ones that messed up badly. I would not use them again. One of my dogs needed medication and they were putting all three of my dogs (now all three dogs are big, two of my dogs were German Shepards and one Duck-Shepard/Malamute mix), and they were going to keep them all in the same room. Since they stay together, then they would be happy together. Well, they tried to give the wrong dog the medicine and stuffed it down her throat instead of giving it to the correct dog that is used to taking the medication. That dog got so upset, which got one of the other dogs upset that was very protective that she tried to jump out of the room and she ended up nipping at one of the employees because they got them so stirred up, which got everyone else stirred up in the place, and they blamed my dogs for it. Of course they were going to get upset because they were trying to do something to them that they weren't supposed to do. What I did like about them was that they have the remote cameras that you can check up on them any time from your computer, and the fact that they have big enough rooms to put the three large dogs together with room to walk. It was just basically the care that they gave: giving the wrong dog the medication is in my book, like the guy who walked into Tampa General and they took the wrong leg off. It might not have been the facility, but just the people that they had working at the time.

I would use them again and I've used him for many years. I like that he treats our animals like our family. He's also very, very knowledgeable about different things. He also used to be our farm vet, which means he knows about rodents and some of the other animals that we raise, or used to raise. He used to make house-calls, although he doesn't do that anymore. He'll help you if you are money-tight. He'll help you find the best way to work it out, even though he no longer owns the clinic. He sold the clinic to someone else, but he works there, until, as he says, he's dead and gone. It's his life. A good vet is hard to find. I took my pet to get boarded once and they were scarred for life.

My dog had a bite on his neck, and a fluid filled sac had formed, since I just moved to the area I took him to this vet which is close by.  They told me it needed surgery to remove a sisk (sp?) and scheduled it for the following Tuesday morning and it would cost around $400.  I dropped my pup off on my way to work, and around 10 am I started getting phone calls from the vet - did I do a bit report? Why did I drop him off, what did I want them to do, he needed to be on antibiotics longer, and it went on.  Too much confusion for me since I had agreed to the surgery on the vets recommendation!
Humane Society of Tampa just treated my pup, they lanced & drained the swollen area - no surgery necessary and the bill was $55.00

It's a bit of a wait, because they get extremely busy - so go prepared.  The entire staff is caring and will readily answer all your questions.  The vet herself was excellent and helped my dog immediately.  She covered some info & test a different vet totally ignored and generally was excellent with my pup.  I feel like he was well taken care of.

    A Waggin Good Time
Dawn was fantastic, DESPITE the poor service provided by Angie's List.  More on that in a moment.
Just three days before we were to leave on holiday, we were left in the lurch without a cat-sitter for our five fur-babies.  I was desperate!  And so, I joined Angie's List, hoping for help.
Dawn came through with an amazing clutch performance, not only taking excellent care of our "children," but reassuring us of her commitment to them before we left (with only one day to spare... talk about short-notice and no time for error!).
Also, while we were away, Dawn kept us posted via text messages, which was reassuring, as well.
However, my Angie's List service rep experience was not very good at all.  I only called Angie's List because I was desperate and believed the television commercials suggesting that I need not be a member to have Angie's List recommend/set us up with a provider for our needs.  Because many of the sites I use already offer free user/purchaser reviews, I did not see the value of paying for what I can get for free, but the ads suggested both that I need not be a member, and that the Angie's List would connect me to a well-reviewed service provider.  Ha!
My Angie's List telephone service rep, disabused me of the notion that I did not need to be a paying Angie's List subscriber; he further told me that he had at least six cat-sitters "in [my] zip code;" and-- after registering and taking membership payment from me --told me that he would send me their names and contact info.  He also told me that I would receive an email explaining to me how to log in and use the Angie's List features.
First, the "Welcome to Angie's List..." email was vague and gave me no info on how to access the account I had just purchased.  I was going to have to set-up an account for a membership I had just payed for and was under the impression I need only follow the instructions (of which there were none) in the email to do so.  And second, once I did figure out how to set-up my account and access it, I found no messages or emails from the service rep listing those six providers in my zip code.
And so, I tried to run my own searches for providers "within 10 miles of my zip code."  Eventually, I came up with four, EXCEPT that three of the four DID NOT SERVICE MY ZIP CODE, and it is only sheer luck that the one provider who did, turned out to be the WONDERFUL Dawn Owen of "A Waggin' Good Time!

    Happy Pets In
We are caring for a stray dog while looking for a home for her. We were unprepared to be selective with a kennel when our business trip was rescheduled.
She (Molly) was safe while we were away, but we would not use them again unless it was an emergency. The people were very nice but the facility was a very sterile, loud and cold environment. I experience the people and leave but the dog experiences the facility and stays there so I weigh the facility heavily when forming an opinion. It was set up exactly like the animal shelters and you have to pay extra to get outside time for your dog to play on the grass area with a person instead of gravel and concrete. There is no contact with other dogs unless they are being boarded together. She also lost over a pound of weight (she is only 19 pounds).

Southside is great. Although they are very busy, they take time needed to answer any questions, and treated my dog like one of their own. It is obvious that they care about animals. My dog is happy to go there and shows no signs of anxiety!

    Tampaws Pet Care
Every time she went to the house, she would text me that that my pets are doing good or already in the house. She basically let me know what's going on with my pets. I am very touched with the gesture when she left some goodies for my pets. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a pet sitter. She cares with your animal and shows she cares how pet owners love their animals.

    South Paws In-Home Pet Sitter
This wasn't the first she has watched my dogs but this was the longest we were gone for, after coming home around 8 pm on Tuesday night our home really smelled of pee. There was feces on the toilet in the guest bathroom and two of my dogs had issues. One of my dogs eye is messed up and my other dog had problems with her back legs. My dogs also got into my bedroom and had a big mess to clean, there was pee on my bed so we had to clean when we got home. It was not something I was expecting to come home too. We probably should of talked of what was expected but when my dogs go to the bathroom. it usually means they were not taken outside. After we decided we werent going to have her back I asked for the key to be mailed and the key was lost apparently. I don't know who would have taken the key out of the enevelop but I feel treated like second class. My key should have arrived in a bubble wrap private envelope. I was not pleased and I would not have her back. VERY DISSatisfied.
