Countertop Installation reviews in Plant City

    AV CONSTRUCTION, LLC
Beware!!! This is the contractor you hear horror stories about. Per our contract, the job to be complete in 180 days. We are now over 500 days, attorneys involved, stop work order from county for no electrical, plumbing, or structural permits for the work he did. Huge driveway he put in had huge cracks a couple weeks after it was poured and continues to get worse, its falling apart. Concrete was tested by 3rd party and every core sample drilled was not 4 thick. Some areas were as thin as 2 5/8. Worst drywall repairs Ive seen. Nothing is straight or level. We have gotten estimates for roughly $50,000 to fix everything that is screwed up. We are thousands of dollars into attorney fees with no end in site. To top it all off, he put a lien on our house. Everyone that has come to look at the issues cant believe how bad things were done. Dont understand how someone doing work like this has zero bad reviews. I waited to post bad reviews until my attorney told me it was ok to do so. There are too many issues to list everything in detail. Just beware, we tried to be patient and give him the opportunity to make things right, but it just kept getting worse until we were too far in to hire someone else. All the money was gone. He was paid roughly $100,000 ( he never got the final payment of about 15k because he never completed the job ) and like I said before, we have estimates for roughly $50,000 to fix all the issues. Poor quality work includes drywall, structural, concrete, roofing (they swept all the nails off the roof into my yard also), cabinets, counter tops, flooring, doors, paint, tile, plumbing, job site was always dirty with piles of trash left until we nagged long enough for it to get cleaned up but then it would start over again with more trash, water bottles with urine in them laying around the yard, the list goes on and on. I wish I could add more than 10 picture, I have hundreds.

    Ford Refacing and Custom Cabinets
Mr. Ford did excellent work on upgrading my kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. He was polite, professional and showed up when he said he would. The quality of his craftsmanship is evident. Well-crafted counter tops with no visible seams. He took the time to ensure that the tops were perfectly level and secured. The seam between the sink and the counter top is impeccable, they appear as one. Remarkable attention to detail. A talented gentleman with clear desire to present his best work. Highly recommend and would certainly hire for future work.

Very punctual from the estimate to the installation.  Rodney arrived at the designated time with samples, suggestions and pros/cons of each.  He was very helpful in assisting me with the product..  I was sold on his knowledge and customer service.
The day of the installation he was right on time.  He did everything he said he would do and worked on the plumbing to make it more appealing that the original installation.
Rodney, also, hauled away all of the old items.  He left me with a beautiful bathroom cabinet.

    Cabinet & Stone International

They came out to measure and discuss the work. About two weeks later they scheduled the job. They showed up on time.  Removed the old counter tops and installed the new ones.  They took great care to make them look good and they did a fine job.  The price was for precut half inch granite and included a kitchen sink.  The price was the lowest of the quotes we got by about $400.

It looks great and they did an excellent job.

    Oldja Enterprises Kitchen & Bath
When we started thinking about redoing the kitchen, the plan was just to replace the cabinets and countertops, keep a small eat in space and remove some upper cabinets between the kitchen and living room. In the end we had a useless window blocked up, a small wall removed, removed a beam between the kitchen and living room where the previous cabinets had been and installed cabinets throughout the whole kitchen. We used glass inserts in the doors of the cabinets that will be used for decorative items. We were able to select our own handles, knobs and plumbing fixtures which was nice because with some companies you are limited to their options. The whole project was done very professionally, timely and with no major issues. The quality of workmanship was excellent. We chose a very high end countertop and it was installed beautifully. The pricing was very reasonable considering the size of the job, the quality of workmanship and the products used. We are considering having the master bath redone and will use Oldja for that project as well.

They were very thorough and very professional. I didn't have to correct anything they did. They are good. With regard to price, they were very competitive. I have no complaints with them. It was three days; they were gone and it was looking nice. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

    AGS Stone
Needed granite installed on our covered outside kitchen which has been an ongoing project (one year + thanks to my husband who thinks he can do everything himself, which of course he cannot) which needed to get finished.
I stopped by AGS on 7/5/13 (thank goodness they were opened the day after the holiday) & Jackie (husband & wife owners) patiently answered all my questions during my visit.  I had an approximate square footage estimate for the granite & made her aware I was on a budget to complete the kitchen.  There are different slabs out front to choose from but as I was on a budget, Jackie told me Uba Tuba 3 cm was the best value at $34.99 per sq ft installed.  She gave me a sample approx 6 x 6" to take home which in my opinion was the best thing she could do.  I was able to show it to my husband & our contractor, place it on the bar & image how great it was going to look.  I had also gone to Home Depot to see if they could do a better price & the answer was no, it was $35 sq ft for the thinner granite (2 cm?).
Went home armed with the estimate & the great reviews from Angie's List & called the next week to let her know I was ready to proceed.  She was again most helpful & professional and an appointment was made for the template to be made.  There was a bit of delay as she said she would email pictures of the different edges so I could choose but forgot to do so.  That was sorted out when I stopped by with my initial deposit (I stopped by & paid half with my American Express card).  Some of my emails to them were returned as their mailbox was full so I decided telephone contact was the best method to accomplish our transaction.    I know they are very busy as there were customers coming in both days I was at their office.
As our contractor (my husband finally threw in the towel & we hired someone to finish the project) was still doing some work on the kitchen, he was there when the template was made.  Both myself & the contractor were here when the granite was installed exactly 1 wk after the template was done.  I just happened to have that day off & the kitchen is outside but was glad to see the installation.  3 guys arrived around 10:15 am and got right to work.  Our kitchen/bar is 20+ feet long & the granite was approximately 110 sq feet.  Also the top bar was not level (contractor's fault) but they shimmed it up to make it level.  They worked until after 6PM and then cleaned up after themselves by sweeping.  And it's hot outside here in Plant City in July.
The bar now has tile on the surround which I hope you can see in the pictures attached.  Our contractor did the tile work which covered up the shims needed to level the bar.  AGS did the bar top & backsplash.  It looks great.  I downloaded the before & after pictures at this link:  https://plus.google.com/photos/108671884246436277229/albums/5908290140263475809?authkey=CKyno4aNxqjYBg   You will need to copy & paste both lines but the link does work.  Not sure I could add the pictures here.
We will be redoing our kitchen by the end of the year and yes, I definitely will use AGS again for our new granite counter tops.

    Kitchen Bath & Beyond
My 20+ year old kitchen desperately needed a makeover.  I wasn't sure what I wanted but Kitchen Bath & Beyond came up with the perfect design.  Everyone was a pleasure to work with.  The workers arrived every day as scheduled.  They were very professional, courteous and cleaned up everyday before they left.  I could not be more pleased with everything that was done.  The attention to detail is amazing.  They even finished the job ahead of schedule.   I hope to call them again in a few months to redo my bathroom.
Thank you Kitchen Bath & Beyond!!!

    Upright Remodeling
First of all let me state that the reason for choosing Upright Remodeling's was based on reputation.  They had completed several projects in our area and all feedback I received had been excellent. The estimate I received was higher than the other contractors, but I needed somebody I could trust to be in my home for weeks unsupervised and at the same time confident that I would get a quality job. After meeting several times with Upright Remodeling my confidence grew  enough that I left the country for a 2 week while European Cruise while they continued to work on our project.

To begin the journey we packed everything up and stored it in a spare bedroom and the garage and moved out of the house for 6 weeks. Upright moved all of the heavy stuff to the garage which was an added service at no charge.

During the duration of the remodel I would stop by at the end of the day to monitor the progress and make sure it was what I wanted.  There were very minor issues that I pointed out that were not to my total liking.  In most cases they already new about them and were on a punch list to be fixed. They reassured me that work was not completed yet, and that everything would be right at the end.  They were right.  At the end of the project everything was magnificat.  Upright Remolding took the extra steps with out additional charges to insure that we were completely satisfied, and we could not have been happier with their work.  I have used them again since to paint the exterior of my house.  If you are looking for a quality job, reasonable cost, and responsiveness to all of your questions and concerns I suggest you consider Upright Remodeling for your next project, I will.

Awesome, the countertop crew were just great. Very friendly, arrived on time, finished on time, cleaned up and the tops look great. We have a lot of cabinets, but the crew did well, a couple little hickups, but overall really really happy with them. I would not hesitate to use them again.
