    Safe Harbor Animal Hospital
We have used Safe Harbor for over 5 years now and have finally had enough. Let me say the doctors are incredibly nice but they are constantly rotating, so you must be sure to ask for the doctor you prefer. My issue is with their staff, who are often rude and frustrating to deal with. Several of the young ladies working front desk put off an attitude as if a paying customer is a bother to them. We dealt with this for years but after one young lady advised me "If my dog died then it's my fault" and then charging for services that were not preformed we are done. In Feb. my husband took our dog in and at no point did an actual Vet see our dog yet we were charged an examination fee. When I questioned it we were given 3 different being the vet did come in (no they did not), 2nd it had been over 3 months since an examine was done. So I asked if policies changed I was not aware of. I was placed on hold. Lastly, I was told it should have been charged at our last visit back in October. Really!?! Since when do you charge customers for a mistake you made 5 months prior and not speak to the customer before doing so. BEWARE

    Hillman Veterinary Clinic
Our 10 year old Lhasa Apso became ill and could not stand. We had a clean bill of health from our regular vet in August 2018 so we felt she was in good health. On September 9th, 2018, she became lethargic and began to sit down instead of following us around as normal. On Sept. 10th, she was unable to stand and she grew progressively worse throughout afternoon. We took her to our regular vet on Monday morning and they diagnosed her with Cushings' disease and a Pituitary tumor. They suggested three options if she was not on her feet within 72 hours. First, we take her to an emergency care vet for surgery; second, take her to Auburn University for more testing and surgery; and finally, Euthanize her. We went to Hillman veterinary for a second opinion. Dr. Hillman admitted her overnight and called us on Thursday, Sept. 13 to come and get her. She was on her feet and walking again the next morning. She has still got some medical issues but she is on the mend. The regular vet missed all the Cushings' signs at her normal check up in August and gave her the wrong medication and dose for her symptoms on Sept. 10th. They would have euthanized her on September 13th had we not sought the second opinion from Dr. Hillman. If you have ever faced euthanizing a pet, you know the stress and anguish that it places upon a family. Dr. Hillman took a paralyzed dog that couldn't lift her head or even use the bathroom on her own and had her walking out of his office within 24 hours. She will need medication to control the Cushings' Disease for the rest of her life but she is back with us for now. Even if she only lives a few more years, it was well worth the effort that Dr. Hillman took to give her back to us and for that we are forever grateful. I see good and bad reviews all the time and I have written many. Animals live and they die. When you have a happy pet one day and a dying pet the next for no apparent reason, you need someone with experience and common sense to diagnose the problem. Some people will never be happy and some are impossible to please. Just bring your pet to Dr. Hillman if you have that feeling that something is just not right about your current veterinary diagnosis.

I was going to another popular vet clinic which has very high prices for services. My dog sitter recommended Dr Steadman and I found him and his staff very professional and seemed caring. I didnt feel rushed in the visit and the prices were very reasonable. My dog went in a few days later for teeth cleaning and the charges with blood work were reasonable in total. I will definitely by going to him and will recommend him. Its not a fancy place but the service is more important to me.

We've gone there since 1977. They've been good to us. They are real close. It's just been a wonderful relationship all those years. I found about them through neighbours recommendation. They love critters.

I was concerned with some things, and they said bring her in and we'll check her out for free. They are very experienced as well, it wasn't just on cost, I made sure that they, when I go to places I look at reviews for everything.

We ended up losing him, but they were wonderful. They were very great and compassionate, and I will use them again at anytime. We ended up going to Atlanta to get a second opinion, and what they said was everything that had been done in Pensacola has been just perfect, and they would have done that as well That kind of reassured me too.

Before my cats, I had a dog and a different cat, and we were in and out with them all the time.  Then they got old and finally died, so we've used these people for years and years; just excellent service, excellent care for the animals.  I'd give them an A all the way around, all the categories.  They're wonderful, they really are.  They care.  I've been to vets who were technically, who knew what they were doing, but just didn't seem to care that much for the animals one way or the other and I can't go there.

We also buy our pet supplies and food there. Their excellent. Their really good with our pet. Their cheaper than some of the local places. They do a great job. It takes a while for them to do it but that is to be expected. We leave them there and it usually takes 3-4 hours. They are professional and they way the treat my animal are the reasons I keep going back. They care about the animals. They do a good job. My dog is familiar with them and she likes them, they are very nice to her.

My husband and I had to leave town suddenly due to a family tragedy, and Lisa promptly answered my last minute inquiry to watch our 3 wild dogs and spunky cat.... She was a life saver! She was accommodating, kind, thoughtful, and took AMAZING care of our fur babies! It was a hard time for us, and she took all the worry of leaving our pets at home off our hearts so we could be with family. She sent updates and photos showing them safe and happy while on the house visits, setting our minds at ease (and also served to give us doses of cuteness overload from our charming stinkers ;) I am so grateful and thankful to have such a wonderful person there to watch our fur babies, and highly recommend her to anyone looking for not only an exceptional pet caregiver, but a trustworthy professional. You rock, Lisa!

They were wonderful. I would have to give them a A+.

Not only was the veterinarian, Cheryl Ankenbranct marvelous the staff couldn't have been more kind and compassionate. We didn't have an appointment but they were very timely.
