    All American Industries llc
Prior to granting access to my property I received assurances from Sean Carter that he would leave the property in the same condition as he found it. I was especially concerned that damage would be done to my newly installed ($20K+) driveway. I was assured he would not be using any equipment for other than moving materials, and he would do all required digging by hand, and would cover the pavers with plywood in the work area to protect them. I was also concerned with a concrete cove that was on my property at the base of the existing block wall (the outer edge of the block is the property line). Mr. Carter assured me and my wife that this concrete would not be touched in the course of the work. Problems started as demo began. Removing the existing block created a chipping of the concrete cove leaving a very uneven surface. Assurances were repeatedly made by Mr. Carter and his crew that this would be repaired at the end. With the block removed, they encountered tree roots inhibiting their ability to dig back into the exposed soil, and without any further discussion, Mr. Carter brought in a tracked vehicle with a stump grinder and drove it right into our carport and started digging with this. This threw dirt and dust throughout our carport, and the machine scraped paint on the carport poles and canopy. Once they began laying block, the crew for some reason (again no discussion) disassembled a portion of my existing retaining wall in an attempt to tie it into the new wall. Since the elevation was not the same, they ended up rebuilding my wall with spaces in the block joints since the blocks were not level. Also they dripped construction adhesive down the face of my block, and chipped the cap blocks they removed. I asked that my wall be restored to the way it was, and not tie it to the new wall of my neighbor. An attempt to do this was made, but they left a large void behind my wall, and did not repair the adhesive or chipped blocks, and left the wall improperly aligned. During the digging they broke my neighbor's irrigation line, and for two successive nights when the system came on it caused a mud flow across most of my two-car carport. This was eventually repaired, but the pavers had mud and dirt on them. Mr. Carter decided to pressure wash the pavers, and while doing so, blasted the polymeric sand out of the spaces between the pavers. While this was being done, Mr. Carter was scooping up the sand and removing it. After it dried and I pointed out the problem, Mr. Carter volunteered to sweep new sand into the joints, calling it "not rocket science". But I indicated to him that what we had installed was polymeric sand, including an adhesive to resist ant and vegetation activity in the pavers, and my concern that my warranty for the pavers would be nullified if someone non-qualified did something like this. Mr. Carter took the name of my paver contractor and said he would call and work something out to remedy. The work completed and I talked to one of his workers who was gathering up things and asked about the concrete issue and the chipped blocks in my retaining wall. I was told that Sean considered the work done and I would need to talk to him. When I called, Sean became immediately confrontational. He said he had done a trial to repair the concrete and there was no way to do it. He claimed he had told us prior to the work that the concrete would be damaged. (This is a ridiculous assertion...what homeowner would allow a contractor access to his property to complete work for someone else after being told he would have to damage our property?). He told me if I wanted the concrete fixed I should call a contractor and get it fixed myself. He also called me a "liberal" and said I was one of those people who wants something for nothing (pretty funny considering we've spent about $200K in the past seven years on home improvements). He said I should pursue him with the Better Business Bureau but that that would do no good, then as I tried to raise the additional issues (paver damage, paint damage, retaining wall damage) he hung up on me. We will be heading to court with this issue. I am mad at myself because having administered commercial contracts in chemical plants I knew about contracts and performance bonds. However upon our first meeting, Mr. Carter seemed very straightforward and candid, had ready answers to questions, and came across as an honest and hard-working small businessman. Lesson learned. In the future a contractor entering my premises will have a contract in place and demonstrate a performance bond to settle future liabilities. As an aside, although I did not pay for the retaining wall installation, it is obviously defective. With these modern stacked block walls that have no mortar, a key feature is to provide drainage on the soil side of the wall. At the start of the project, this was the design described by Mr. Carter, drain pipe at the bottom and gravel backfill to grade. This prevents hydraulic pressure in the soil from pushing the wall from behind and moving it over time. In the course of construction, Mr. Carter talked my neighbor into abandoning this approach and subsequently installed no drain pipe or gravel, and backfilled with soil. The wall is less than two months old but is already wavy and obviously being moved by ground movement when it rains. See photos where bow in wall, chipped concrete cove, and misaligned and chipped wall are visible.

    Walker & Sons Home Renovation
I will continue to use Mark for any work on my house. The list is still long and he's the one to do it. If someone is needed for a task he doesn't happen to do - I'm working off his references because he has surrounded himself with talented hard-working friends. You won't be disappointed if you call Mark.

    Round To It Services
Mr. De Marco and his team began right on time and completed the project on time, despite learning that the deck support pieces were rotten upon pulling up the old decking. They had to fit in replacing the support structure completely and worked tirelessly and long hours to get it done - not just to finish on time for us but to also be able to keep their word to the next client to begin their project. The finished screened porch is more lovely, cool and shady (and bug free!) than we dreamed possible. Mr. De Marco came back as needed to tweak a few small items because he wants it to be just right and takes immeasurable (and well justified) pride in his work. He was flexible and patient as we asked questions or made adjustments.

    Paradise Fence & Decks
READER BEWARE OF COMPANY! This is a must read.... To potential customers of Paradise Fence: This review is based on service between my parents, the company and the company owner, Steve Peart. I actually posted this review 2 weeks ago but within 24 hours of posting it, Steve had asked my parents to have it removed mid-project because of the nature of the review. The review was intended to show the shady doings of Steve Peart and his company. I advised my parents that we should wait at least until the work was done but they are very kind people, so I removed the post for them. Since then, Steve has, more or less, told my parents to kiss him where the sun doesnt shine. I have pasted the original review below. He has decided he is going to leave the damaged product, mediocre quality work and bail on my parents without taking any form of responsibility. Original review posted 4/28/2017: "I recommended this company to my parents based on Angie's List reviews and several quotes that we received for a brand new fence. My parent's home, along with many other homes in the area, was hit with a tornado that came through early 2016. At that time my dad was also going through cancer treatment so I looked to Angie's List for contractors to come out and start repairs on their home. The tornado wiped the entire fence so it needed to be replaced. In the early stages prior to the beginning of installation, Steve Peart (the company owner) was very communicative, so we assumed we would be receiving good service. Steve advised it would take approximately 2 days to install the fence. It is still not done. Not only is the fence un-leveled, the doors have not yet been installed. Communication, punctuality and quality have been extremely poor since giving Steve the deposit. Steve no longer takes phone calls and will only respond to text messages periodically. I have a strong inclination that Steve and his company are the stereo typical contractors that take advantage of elderly people. Since this has not yet been resolved, immediate contact with either myself or my parents is highly suggested." Since removing the original review, Steve has since decided he is going to leave my parents hanging, mid-project, with damaged, unsatisfactory product, and keep the deposit. For those looking to hire Paradise Fence and Deck, there are hundreds of contractors out there. Save your money, heart ache and sweat and find yourself another company that has some integrity and will at the very least, take responsibility for their own actions. Please do not make the unfortunate mistake that my parents made with trusting and hiring this company.

    Sandbox Boyz LLC
From design and estimate to installation and post installation support, the entire Team at SandBox Boyz has been outstanding. The project too a bit longer than anticipated due to the magnitude of the job; however all work was completed within 10 days from start to finish with job site cleanup every day. They have always been very patient and responsive to all of my questions and concerns. All work was completed on time with a high degree of professionalism, safety and cleanliness. They do not subcontract out any of the work and have experts on staff to deal with every facet of outdoor landscaping. While the cost may seem a bit excessive, it was well worth the cost considering the amount of work that had to be done and it was all done in mid July when the heat was oppressive. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a "one stop shop" for all of their landscape needs with a desire to have the job done right the first time! A FULL service local landscape company run by a Veteran!

    ALL-SAFE Pool Security Inc
All-Safe exceeded our expectations in all areas. Joel was able to meet with us within a few days of us calling him and expressing interest in a pool fence. Joel came to our house and discussed which pool fence design would work best for our backyard and family. A few days later our fence was in. It provides us such a sense of security for our family. We have 3 young children and are now able to use other areas of our backyard without the constant fear of the kids near the pool. We believe this has been our best investment since moving into our new house and highly recommend All-Safe to all families with pools and children.

    A - 1 Hurricane Fence Industries
The fence is attractive, however, on the drive-through gate, the fence and gate are not level preventing the gate from properly closing.  I called the salesman several times and he said he'd come by and see about it.  I called 5 or 6 times and supposedly he came by and fixed it (while I was not home), however, it still doesn't work properly.  After awhile I gave up and decided I would just live with it.  5 month's later, I'm still dissatisfied that the fence does not perform properly, so I placed another call to the salesman, who stated, "oh yes, I remember you", and I'll come by in the next day or so and see about it.  That was 3 weeks ago and he still hasn't been by.  We'll be calling Tornado Fence company to repair the fence and I do not recommend Hurricane because of poor workmanship / installation / service after the sale.  Buyer beware!

    Fair Price Construction, LLC
They were able to come a week early because they were ahead of schedule.  Amazingly fast.  I had 40 feet of wooden privacy fence across the back yard completely removed and replaced, along with 35 feet of fencing across the side yard.  It was all finished within 2 and a half hours.  An hour after they left someone came by and picked up all the debris and hauled it off.  Fast, efficient, and competitively priced.
