Hardware Store reviews in Pembroke Pines

  • The pricing is reasonable. They have great hours. They always find what you need. Whatever you need, they have and that's good for me. Everybody is pretty friendly. Everytime I go there, it takes a while to find somebody if you have questions. Besides that, it's a great experience. I've been going there for 2 years.

  • Terrible. I signed the contact to have the work performed in September 2015, and almost 6 months later, filing a Better Business Bureau complaint and involvement of the Lowe's Executive Office the fence is still not completed.

  • Having measured the important dimensions of the part I needed to replace, I was able to locate without difficulty the correct replacement part in the store's plumbing department and verify its correctness by measuring the applicable dimensions with a tape measure.   The part was on a display in a store isle, and on this occasion I did not require the help of a store employee.  I completed the purchase without difficulty, using self-service checkout.  The part was suitable for its intended purpose, fit into place, and has worked without problem since I installed it.
However, that one experience is insufficient to review a store like Lowes.  General impressions from years of shopping there are more useful.  Lowes is a typical big-box hardware/home-improvement store, and this location appears to be almost exactly the same as every other Lowes.  For typical day-to-day needs for the multitude of hardware and home maintenance items one is likely to need, Lowes is very adequate.  It will usually have what you need at a price that is competitive in the general market.  Selection seems pretty good for most things, and stocking of inventory also seems good most of the time.  Although this sounds like lukewarm praise, I realize that doing the job that a store like Lowes does in a consistently competent way is an amazing achievement and testimony to the efficacy and efficiency of modern retailing.
Lowe's customer service is hit-or-miss.  If you find a salesperson in the applicable department, he or she usually can direct to to the location of the kinds of items you want.  If you have to ask the front desk to send someone to help you, more often than not nobody shows up.  Often the knowledge of salespersons is not sufficient to help you find the exact item you want or answer specific questions about it; but sometimes you get lucky and find someone who is really knowledgeable and helpful.  You have to be careful to make sure that the pieces you find in the bin or on the hook labeled as being the item you want really are that item, because customers pick up items and return them to random locations--the store could do a better job of keeping its displays properly organized.  You also have to examine packages carefully to make sure they haven't been opened previously and stripped of important parts.  And often it's difficult to determine the quality and exact features and/or specs of particular items.
We have made one major purchase at Lowes, our refrigerator.  After researching extensively in Consumer Reports and and visiting several stores, we determined that a particular Samsung model sold only at Lowes was the one we wanted.  The salesman who worked with us seemed to know everything about the merchandise in his department, and he went out of his way to be helpful.  Completing the purchase was uneventful.  Delivery was less satisfying.  The item was delivered undamaged in new condition, and following installation has worked properly (taking into account that no product as complex as a refrigerator is perfect).  But the delivery people expected me to have the old refrigerator completely empty before they arrived, with all the food getting warm and starting to spoil, because they didn't want to wait for it to be emptied.  The old unit was not emptied when they got there, so they pressured me to empty it as quickly as possible and were quite impatient about the process; however they did give me some help with the job.  They also did a poor job of leveling the unit, with the result that the door on one side tends to swing closed more aggressively than it should.  They weren't awful, just not quite good enough to make me really happy.
Generally, for day-to-day shopping, I prefer Lowes' major big-box competitor, even though its nearest store is a little farther from my house.  I think it's easier to get customer service there, and the people on the sales floor seem to be better trained and more helpful.  Also, I think I find what I want at the competitor more often than at Lowes, although I haven't done a careful comparison.  Lowes and its major competitor are both good stores and both far from perfect.  I shop often at both.  I'm happy that I have both to broaden my choices and to keep one another on their toes through competition.

  • They were on time, professional and provided excellent work and follow up. We did or project over 6 years ago and about 3 years ago a cabinet fell apart at the seams in the back. Lowes came with the representative of the cabinet maker, it was agreed that it was a manufacturing error, they provided a replacement and had all paint and caulking around area replaced, free of charge.

  • I will never use them again and I warn everyone to not use there instillation service.  We had to go into the store 4 times to get the doors ordered.  That should have been a warning to us.  However, it seemed convenient to have them handle everything.  Not the case they have been to my house 3 times now trying to get the doors correct so that they can pass inspection.  The crew was never on time.  We pointed out that the doors didn't close right.  They told us they fixed it. It didn't pass inspection ( they never even looked at the plans).  The person they sent out the 3rd time told me that the doors were installed wrong.  He called his boss and when he came the next day to do it right  the boss showed up the the guy who installed them wrong and he tried to convince the other employee how what he did was right.  Then she tried to convince me it was ok.. her employee would not confirm this and I spent yet another day at home while they redid the doors.  I have another inspection on friday.  When I spoke to Lowes they told me I needed to work it out with the contractor.  no help at all

  • They did an excellent job! We bought a house that was missing a porthole window shutter and garage panels. They came personally recommended and did not disappoint. They were very good at explaining everything, installation was professional and well done. We would definitely recommend them.

  • Doug and Janie are the best! The first time I went in was a couple months before I actually purchased, to get some ideas, and Doug himself showed me around. When I was ready to move forward with my remodel, Janie did all the work - she made great suggestions, gave me tons of options and it turned out to be pretty much a one-stop shop as far as fixtures go.  The delivery was prompt and Doug and Janie's son came with the shop's mascot a dog whose name is (I think!) Maui! The guys unloaded everything and stacked it in an orderly manor. All very professional, from start to finish. I know they've been doing this for a long time, but they've built their business by giving great customer service. I really do highly recommend Doug's Tubs!

  • The installer of the window was an excellent craftsman.  The installer for the accordian shutters was capable but tried to leave without fixing a hard to close shutter.  I made him redo it to my satisfaction.  The finished products were excellent.
The biggest problem was dealing with the female office/admin./coordinator.  She was completely unreliable and unprofessional. She rarely returned calls once a deposit was paid.  Getting anything from her was like pulling teeth.  It made the whole process very agravating time consuming  and unpleasent.  It's a shame that a company with a decent product., good  price and able workers should be at the mercy of an inept, scatter brained individual who has no conception of salesmanship or providing customer satisfaction.  I cannot with a clear conscience  recommend this company as long as she is at the helm.

  • We had a bad storm recently and contacted All Star for new windows.  They came out and did a great job.  They were very prompt and professional.  Due to the recent storms we noticed one of the windows was leaking and All Star came out right away and fixed it.  I highly recommend them.

  • Great!  I am completely remodeling my bathroom without help of designer and prior to finding Tubs & More Supply (aka Doug's Tubs), I could not find a supplier who (a) was willing to work so patiently with a laymen, (b) had service associates who could really guide on the best purchasing decisions and (c) had a showroom that allowed me to sit in and test the bathtubs (If you where your suit they'll actually fill tubs so you can get full experience).
While Tubs & More is technically a place you go and buy bathroom equipment, I really do think the services they provide in making this a pleasant and uncomplicated experience for folks who don't do this regularly is very worthy of honorable mention on Angie's list.
