It has literally changed not only his life but our entire families.  They were great to my family member and our entire family.  Great staff, good food and a beautiful place to deal with his issues.  He has now been clean and sober for 3 months.

Gina and I spent over 45 minutes discussing my current issues: anxiety, confidence, and OCD.  First, There is absolutely no judging, which is a very big deal when visiting anybody to talk about your issues.  Second, Gina doesn't tell you what you want to hear to make you feel better.  She tells you the truth; reality hurts sometimes, and she gives you mental and emotional "tools" on how to deal with life.  Third, Gina really cares about your progress, which is very important to me.  It's like being able to continue the conversation from the previous week.  Fourth, Gina is the real deal!  There is nothing fake about her at all.  She is extremely relatable, which makes it so much easier for me to open up in detail about my problems.  I've had a lot of trouble with this in the past, but Gina is really helping me crack my shell, so to speak.
I'm very happy with being in Gina's care for the long haul.  I've been seeing her for almost a year now, and I know I will continue to see her well into the future.  I feel very fortunate that I found Gina on this site because I am in a much better mental and emotional state now than a year prior.  Thank you Gina.

My regular pediatrician sent me to Dr. Epstein in December. I was then given a referral and called to set up an appointment. When I called I was told that the dr would not be able to see my son until March. I took the appointment just to get something locked down. So, we wait and wait and wait. Finally, my son's appointment date rolls around. We take him out of school early and drive a tired little boy over to the office. We arrive more than 30 minutes early as instructed by his staff the day before. We checked in and I gave the receptionist all of our insurance info and the referral that we were given by our pediatrician. The receptionist told me that even though the referral had the correct name of the dr we were seeing that the address was not correct. She then informed me that I had 20 minutes to get that faxed over of my appointment would be canceled. I rushed to my cell phone and tried calling my son's pediatrician to get it changed. Finally, about 10 minutes before my son's appointment was due to be canceled I got my peds office to change the address and they said they would fax it over within 5 minutes. I then went up to the front to start filling out the regular paper work. The rude receptionist looked at me and said, "you have 1 minute". So, I took the paper work and sat down. I explained to her that I had been trying to get the address changed for over an hour. She saw me sitting on the phone struggling to get the address changed on the referral. I walked up there to return my paper work and she stated that my appointment had been canceled and that Dr. Epstein REFUSED to see my son. At that point I walked out and will never see this dr. again. I will also make sure that no one that I know will go see him either. This is not a dr. that needs to be seeing children. Save yourself some time and go see another dr.

The counselor who was assigned to my son was amazing at ferreting out those feelings my son wasn't in touch with and calling him on his evasive communication tactics, all with grace, patience and dogged persistence. The Doctor was in frequent communications with the counselor and together they really helped guide my son to be a better communicator, which went a long way toward resolving his problems.
Although going through the paperwork to get into the community mental health system is a bit cumbersome, it was well worth it. Everyone at Smith was very supportive, patient, kind and understanding.

This is not the best way to purchase this type of service. Just the fact that you pay up front and whether the service is used or not it expires, should have tipped me off. Hey, I guess it did teach me something! :-)

He is very kind and really helpful. He doesn't over medicate. He is compassionate, and caring. He is very conscientious. He treats your children with respect. He helped me a lot too because I am having anxiety with my child. He is also very professional, and he listens. Overall, he is a very good doctor. The waiting room is small, but who cares when you have good care. I would absolutely recommend him to others.

I have known him for 21 years. He gets my information whenever I go under his care, asks how I am doing. He prescribes more or less a new medication if I need it and I do pretty good with that approach, it is good enough for me. It might not work with everybody. I am happy because of that.

He is psychiatrist, also an M.D., I've been using him for years, years, and years.  I was supposed to go there Monday, couldn't make it, then Friday, couldn't make it, and I have to reschedule.  He is very understanding, compassionate, easy to work with, gets to the point, helps you out, and understands medicines.  I will continue to use him in the future.  I've been using him since 1990, the service is working well, and I have a good healthcare provider.

She is an excellent psychologist.  She was just amazing.  She helped me with my daughter when my daughter was in high school, which was a hard time for kids.  She made her get through high school.  She made all the difference in the world.  It was not just my daughter.  When I took her there, I saw at least seven girls from the same school going to her too.  We were able to see her whenever we needed to and her availability was great.  She was available by email and returned phone calls.  She worked with the parents and the kids.  I credit her with my daughter being who she is.  She is the best.  I have never been to her new office and so I don’t know about her office now.  Her office here was in a very nice neighborhood.  The kids could get there from school.  I never had any problems with the billing.  She was the best thing that happened to us.  My husband and I also attended her sessions along with our daughter.  Our son also went to her for some time.  I would recommend her to anyone.

I want to tell people to be aware of these guys. They have an attractive ad and they promise a lot of things. My experience was not the case. I needed some help with sexual abuse, in-patient psychiatric help. I thought that I found it with this program. I checked out their website and I emailed them an inquiry from that site, I got a call back the same day. I provided my insurance information and names and numbers of my psychiatrist and therapists. In the subsequent days and weeks, they called a number of times and I felt encouraged to hear from them when they told me my insurance had approved my admission. According to them, they had made the inquiries using my insurance information. I was reassured by a woman over the phone that they wouldn't fly me down there for no reason, and I was good to go. I spent the next two weeks preparing for a stay at a considerable expense. In addition, even though I fear flying and it causes me high anxiety, I as willing to take a non-stop flight for this "hoped for" help.

I got up at 3 AM and flew to Ft. Lauderdale, exhausted. Right away, a nurse saw me for 20 minutes. She asked me questions about my mental health history, which includes multiple diagnoses. She pushed hard for very short answers. These included questions about my history of sexual abuse, about which I was only able to reveal in detail several years ago to my trusted therapist of 8 years. She was clearly in a hurry, and she wanted the abridged version of everything. I never even finished listing my diagnosis. I was told that there was no psychiatrist there that day, even though my arrival was planned and expected.

After this brief intake, a man came and told me that my insurance declined my admission. I was devastated, and came completely undone. I called my husband, and he asked to speak to the administration. The administration was rude, interruptive, arrogant, and dismissive--I heard the way he spoke to my husband. He then impatiently asked my husband what I could get here that I couldn't couldn't get at home.

After all this went down, the nurses told me that they tried unsuccessfully to reach the psychiatrist on call, suggesting he might make a difference in presenting the situation to my insurance company. To which they added, they did not believe it would. The insurance administrator was so hostile towards me and my husband that I was amazed he worked in the psychiatry field. I found myself in a strange city with no bearings, transportation, and with an unusable cell phone to boot. I felt totally let down by these unprofessional people. I had been instructed to bring all of my meds in their original bottle, which I did. Before I left, they returned all of the filled bottles, despite my state of mind.

Once I reached a hotel room, I broke down and was dangerously depressed. I can't imagine anyone, much less psychiatric hospital personnell, putting anyone through this kind of ordeal.
