Fence Company reviews in Pass A Grille Beach

    Atlanta Omega Fence
The job was completed professionally, fully, and timely. During installation it was discovered that the old fence posts had not rotted (due to sandiness of the soil) and the company owner, Humberto Cruz, informed us and deleted that part of the work and associated costs from the job. We found him to be very knowledgeable, experienced, and of very high integrity.

Was a pleasure to work with owner James Johnston and crew. The work was started on time and finished within the 2.5 days I was told it would require. Yard was clean up after completion of work was immaculate. The fence is beautiful and appears to be very sturdily built. I recommend this company without hesitation.

    Florida State Fence
I had a great experience with Florida State fence. They responded quickly and were able to get our fence replace in a reasonable amount of time. The installer did a great job, left everything neat and clean. Arrived on time and I would definitely hire them again. The plus was that they were 20% less expensive than anyone else we interviewed.

Look no further. Best price and best work. We had specific needs and wanted the fence to meet a certain aesthetic. Fence is beautiful and looks exactly as we wanted. ALSO, the fence was installed a year ago and it just went through hurricane Irma. After evacuating, I expected to come home to find the fence scattered everywhere. It did NOT move, bend or break, withstanding 100+ mph winds. Looks as perfect as the day it was installed. Unbelievable!

We could not have asked for better service and quality of work. Everything went exceptionally well. Wonderful and courteous owners and installers. Installers are very detail oriented. They know how to work out any issues that may arise with respect to trees, roots, uneven grading, etc. They work quickly and everything looks perfect. Plus, their prices were better than ALL the other estimates that we received. Don't waste your time calling anyone else!

We love the new fence and our bigger back yard.  Eric and his team were terrific to work with. He made several great suggestions when he came out for the estimate.  He was very flexible to re-use as much of the existing fencing as possible.  The work took 2 days and they left the yard very clean.  We couldn't be happier.

I had an appointment for an estimate on approx. 200' of fencing installed on a beach property.
Spoke with the scheduler, who was very nice, and asked to speak with the person that would do the install. I was told that he won't speak with anyone on the phone. She refused to to connect me to him.
I found this extrodinarially strange. They seem to have good reviews here but if they're not willing to speak with a customer I have my doubts on their customer service overall.
    YMMV.

First, I am not sure how to and quot;gradeand quot; the categories for the review and I am not sure if I would use this provider again -- read on for the pluses and minuses of our experience.
Our project was to replace a wooden fence that was old and somewhat beyond weathered, particularly -- and here is the key point -- in that the spaces between the pickets were not providing the degree of privacy we wanted. My initial phone contacts with the company were excellent. Then my husband and I went out to look at the sawmill, ask more detailed questions concerning the number of pickets, posts, etc, that we would need, and possibly buy our fence lumber there. We felt that their advice was excellent and not self-serving to themselves. We did make arrangements to buy the fence pickets from them and to have them delivered on a certain date.
They did deliver the fence pickets early on the agreed date.
However, although the pickets were then installed with NO gaps between them, the pickets immediately shrunk so much that we had less privacy than we did with the old fence. We returned to the sawmill within a week to talk about this and the owner (same man we talked to before) just said and quot;Oh, yeah, you gotta expect that wood will shrink for about 60-90 days after it's cut.and quot; He reminded us that they DO have some sample fence sections of various styles and levels of privacy set up in their yard and they HAD asked us which style we wanted when we placed our order. And it is true that we HAD selected the side-by-side style which DID show a small gap between each picket, and we ARE the ones who ASSUMED that this was because they were placed that way rather than and quot;shrunk to that wayand quot; and that the shrinkage-gap that would appear after installing them with no gaps would be minimal and acceptable.
Bottom line -- he took NO responsibility for our problem and was totally unsympathetic in his manner. Meanwhile, it has now been five months and the pickets have shrunk so much MORE that I can see in my neighbor's windows when I sit on my deck -- I don't know WHAT she can see from her side!!!
As far as using them again...if you don't want Home Depot quality lumber your choices are severely limited.

First the good - I had a 42' length of similar fence, with a double gate, installed by this firm in January 2012 for $1950 on a border with one neighbor's property, and it was a good experience. So I called them back for this job, which was on the same side of my house but bordered another house (that was in foreclosure). The sales guy, Frankie, was different and younger than the one from the prior year, but he was knowledgeable and friendly.

The old fence to be hauled away was overgrown with bushes etc. as no one had lived on the other side of the fence for several years - but I wanted to make sure the bushes that I had on my side would not be taken away or cut back too much.  That was OK, Frankie said, they'd just write an extra charge into the contract to take care of cutting back the growth on the other side, with some (but less) trimming on my side.

When the contract came in, it had a $500 charge for "foilage". When I dropped off my contract and deposit at their office, the office manager Kelly (also knowledgeable and friendly) said the charge was for the extra time and effort to "clear the line" so that the new fence could be installed.  I asked if I would get a credit for that if I did the work myself, and she said yes, as long as the men had a shoulders' width clearing to install the fence.

So I decided to do the work myself.  I called the office a day before the (one-day) installation and told them what I'd done, so that they didn't have to staff for it and could credit my balance $500.  So far, so good.  I spent 3-4 hours the day before the planned install with a friend, taking down the old wooden fence and using a chainsaw to whack back the bushes from the other side (including uprooting some) to give a clear line for the install, and then piling the old wood neatly at the end of my drive by the road.

Now - the BAD.  The morning of the install as the crews were getting ready to go out, I get a call from "Tom" who said they could not give me the promised credit. To make a long story short, even after his crewchief Eddie arrived and verified that there was a clear line to do the install, he insisted that what I did had "no value" - to which I replied that if so, then he couldn't charge $500 for it.  We argued for some time, and he didn't care what the contract or anyone else at West said.  I offered to split the $500 (to get a $250 credit instead), and he offered $20.  This was insulting at best.  Then he said he'd rather return my deposit and not do the job.  I told him I'd just taken down a fence between my property and a vacant one, and I would hold him and his firm liable for anything that happened if he pulled out of this job - ALL THIS WHILE HIS 2 MAN CREW IS STANDING THERE DOING NOTHING AT MY PLACE.  This seemed to finally convince him to do something, and we agreed on a $200 credit.

If everything worked out after that, I might have chalked it up to one bad apple, and forgotten about it.  But the guys installed the fence to open the wrong way (out and toward the house instead of out and away) so that it is very hard to use, and they left the place a complete mess - piles of sand everywhere along the fence line, destroying my sprinkler system on that side, plus they broke up a small deck I'd built next to the fence (on the outside by the drive) for my trash cans - left it like a storm hit it.  When I asked them to clean up, Eddie said they couldn't because they had to leave by 5 and that the boss was "very strict" about that.  They also did a careless job cleaning up the old fence from the driveway.  I had to spend 2-3 more hours that night and the next day cleaning up their mess.

Also, though the salesman said the new gate would be keyed the same as the other existing gate they'd installed before, the key for the new gate did not match the key to the other gate.  I only got 2 "new" keys for the gate, so I called about getting extra keys.  My calls were never returned.  When I tried to get the key copied at Lowe's and at Home Depot, I found that it requires a special kind of key blank they don't have.  So now my access gate to the back yard has only 2 keys and no extras in the event one or both is lost.  I am convinced the failure to provide extra keys is another attempt to get away with doing as little as possible because Tom tried, and didn't completely succeed, to gyp me.  Talk about leaving a bad taste in the mouth!

When the city inspector came, he said it was the sloppiest fence job he's seen in a long time - and while he said it appeared to meet code, he offered to delay approval to get them back out there to clean up.  But I was disgusted with them and told him to forget it.

Rarely have I been so disappointed in a supposedly reputable firm.  West Coast Fence, or at least their employee Tom, tried to take advantage of me.  He should be fired, IMO.

I still have the fence on the other side of the house to replace over the next few years, but there is NO WAY I'd ever use Wesy Coast fence again.

Eric is very professional.  He encountered and old buried concrete barrier that ran along the property line and had to jack-hammer about 6 or 7 fence post holes, at no extra charge.  He did the job in 3 days, would have been 2, but his supplier gave him the wrong size gate.  I would highly recommend A-1 fence.  His estimate was also less than competitors and he uswed higher quality fencing.
