    Mr. David Doerges has assisted in the selection of Health Insurance plans for me as well as family members and friends. He is always patient, careful, courteous, and thoughtful in his recommendations. He considers current medications and physicians and checks to be sure of the type of coverage and cost of the plan or plans he suggests. I feel confident and comfortable relying on his recommendations and judgements.

    So far very well but today was only the application and submittal day to the insurance firm. If all continues to go well I should save well over two hundred dollars per month with a 5 star plan from Optimum.

    The pharmacy staff is always pleasant and very helpful.  Most of the pharmacists will spend a lot of time with you explaining a medication or answering any questions you may have.  They will also work with you, if your med has run out and waiting on the script from your  doctor.  They offer you different alternatives that may save you money when choosing a non-prescription medicine.  I would highly recommend this Walgreens for your pharmacy needs.

    I am not happy with them and am probably going to change. I call on my cell phone to see if there is a problem with prescriptions I call in, but when I go to pick it up it is not ready and we have a problem. No only are the prescriptions not ready, but there is a problem and they did not bother to call me to tell me there is a problem or to ask me to call the doctor to call in a refill. When the prescription is ready they say they will call, but they don't call me. I have also called and they said it is ready, but it is not when I get there. I just called to get a prescription refill and that is exactly what happened.

    I was seen within 15 minutes! The staff was extremely friendly and professional.
    The Physician was very thorough and took care of my eye issue.

    Overall they have not been too bad, but I think their "in-network" designation is misleading.  I had to go to the emergency room for severe cramping (ended up being diagnosed as Diverticulitus).  I specfically went to a hospital that showed on UHC's website as "in-network".  When I received my notice saying what the insurance had paid, I found out that the emergency room physicians at that hospital are "out-of-network".  Therefore they can charge whatever they want, and you are responsible to pay it.  When I tried to call UHC about why that happend when the website shows the hospital as in-network, they said that many of their "in-network" hospitals have providers that are out of network, and it is my responsibility as the patient to verify that people treating me are in the network, or I'm responsible for the "out-of-network" costs.  No amount of arguing that I was in an emergency room for an emergency and couldn't possibly verify that the doctors and other providers who treated me were with my network got them to change anything.  So I then not only had my high deductible to meet, but had to pay above that for an out of network doctor.
    To give UHC some credit, they have otherwise been prompt about processing claims.  I don't really have an option to go to another company because my insurance is through my employer, but if I was choosing for myself what Health Insurance company to use, it wouldn't be United Health Care.

    BCBS has been my health insurance provider for several years. There coverage is better than average and they very timely when evaluating a claim and paying my provider. The EOB statements are very detailed and give you an exact accounting of the coverage for each claim plus a year-to-date summary of where you stand on deductibles and out-of-pocket cap.
    I have not had any issues at all with rejected claims or incorrect settlement amounts.. This was not the my experience with prior carriers.
    When I have had coverage questions, BCBS has been reasonably easy to reach for inquiries.

    BCBS is a great provider. While I suspect many people might think of the insurance company as denying their claims, in reality, most employer plans are following a set medical policy that the payor (BCBS) is simply following. I think we have great insurance and I always get great care from BCBS network providers. This is the best health insurance payor I have ever had.
    I frequently use the BCBS website to search for providers. My young adult family members out of state use BCBS and I receive claims from the local BCBS affiliate. It works smoothly. BCBS also does a nice job of coordination of benefits between our medical providers and dental providers. All things I do not have to worry about. The claims just get paid.

    I have had some very large claims for serious eye problems, a heart related emergency requiring hospitalization, and kidney stones. In each case there was never any problem with getting payment to the doctor or hospital. The record-keeping has been accurate, and in the few times there were questions a letter was sent (or an email), and I was able to provide details and have the issue resolved quickly.
    There online service is quite helpful, and I have used it to find doctors in my area as needed.
    My only negative is that coverage for some of my medications as been reduced.

    I believe premiums are too high and coverage is limited. I never receive a EOB (explanation of benefits) stating what was paid out to which doctors. It's also very difficult to get someone to speak with you about your concerns via phone. Wish I could change my provider.
