    1.  The appointment was a total disaster due to the dentist, Dr. Caputo lying to me about the status of my teeth.
    2.  Caputo told me that the sensitive tooth (#31) that I went in for, looked as if it needed a redo on the root canal.
    3.  Caputo told me that he looked at the ex-rays they just took, and all my other teeth looked fine.
    4.  Caputo then asked me if I had any other pain, but then cut me off, when I tried to tell him, that yes, I STILL have ongoing sensitivity with two teeth on the upper left.
    5.  I'd complained to Dr. Caputo many, many times about pain in those 2 teeth, FOR YEARS, and for years he told me that they looked fine.
    6.  I decided to seek another opinion regarding the sensitive tooth (#31).  Believing Caputo, I thought all my other teeth were OK.
    7.  I made an appt. w/ the LECOM dental school, asking them to give me a quote for #31 for a root canal and an implant, and they told me that the adjacent tooth looked infected also.  Caputo failed to mention anything about the adjacent tooth.  LECOM declined helping me, saying my case was too complex.
    7.  Around the same time, I went to Klement Dental in St. Pete who told me that I had MAJOR problems with the teeth on the upper Left, (Caputo said were fine).  I only asked for info. on getting a bridge removed & an implant done, still thinking that all my teeth were fine, except for #31.
    8.  Now, totally confused about the reports from other dentists, that I have other major problems,  since they all contradict Caputo, so I focus on having tooth no. 31 root canal redone, and went to an endodontist in st. Pete, who did the job, AND ALSO told me that I had problems with the adjacent tooth (no. 30)
    9.  I learn about the University of Florida Dental Clinic, where the doctor's have completed college & are getting additional training & are closely supervised by highly experienced dentists.  They did a thorough assessment of my teeth, show me all the ex-rays &  &  I find out that I have numerous problems, in addition to 30 having an infection that Caputo didn't inform me of, they agreed w/ Klement Dental that the 3 teeth on the upper Left side look problematic.  In all, I believe that the Clinic found about ten teeth with problems, that Caputo didn't say ONE WORD about.
    10.  I go to a specialist for his opinion of #31, for a procedure called root lengthening, and he confirms as well that #30 also has an infection.
    10.  After going to the UF clinic I called Dr. Caputo to ask him, if indeed he did even look at my ex-rays, and he assured me that he had.
    11.  I've been getting all the work done at the UF clinic.
    12.  I'd had several cleanings at Caputo's office, and they were about 5 minutes long, and the absolute worst EVER!
    13. I was on the dry eye drug Restasis, ($400.00 per month without insurance), which causes SEVERE dry mouth, which, now the experts know cause major dental problems!!
    14.  For his lack of ethics & blatant dishonesty, & the fact that I was a LONG TIME patient of his, Dr. Caputo gets an F for failure in every department!!

My husband had found for her for himself through Angie's List, he referred my daughter, who has a terrible fear of dentists, but she did very well with her. I have even referred my sister to her. She hasn't yet gone, but she is planning on going.  She was excellent.

Doctor Harkins and his staff provided very good care and attention to detail on all services. As for the crown, it was fitted and implanted without problem. The problem leading up to the crown started with a bothersome tooth that caused me a lot of pain around Thanksgiving. Dr. Harkins was out of the office, but his wonderful administrative assistant, Danielle, was able to coordinate by phone with him and a pharmacy to get me antibiotics and pain medicine to relieve the troubled tooth. I also was immediately given a follow-up appointment the following week and scheduled that same day with an Endodontist in another office during the visit.

I have been using this practice for several years. I originally went on the recommendation of a friend because I needed corrective dental work caused by a serious error on the part of another dentist. I have been with this practice ever since, and they have done wonderful work. They are very patient and caring, and most of all they do excellent work. I always get compliments on my teeth. They are perfectionists so you know that when you come out of the office, you have gotten good dental work. Every staff member from the receptionists to the two dentists are friendly, understanding, and compassionate. Other dentists I know socially have praised this practice for being one of the best in the area. They have the reputation of doing fantastic dental work. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I have come to just love Dr. Begley and his staff and I love his work.  He did a complete examination and made the impressions and the dentures in May or June but I did not have the extractions performed by an oral surgeon until August.  It took me that long to come to terms with the fact that I had to have upper dentures.  I picked up the dentures from Begley's office, the oral surgeon inserted the dentures when he performed the extractions and I then returned to Dr. Begley for adjustment of the dentures.  First let me say, I think Dr. Begley has done an outstanding job.  The dentures look beautiful and they really feel pretty darn good considering this is only my fourth day wearing them.  They don't feel nearly as bad as I thought they would.  I know they will require some adjusting but thanks to Dr. Begley and my oral surgeon, this process has just not been that bad.  In addition to being very competent and personable, Dr. Begley is a hoot.  He has a wonderful sense of humor and I no longer get scared to death when I walk into the dentist office.  Plus his entire staff are just remarkably caring and kind.  They go out of their way to work me into their shedule when I need to see Dr. Begley and he is always there to greet me.  Plus the staff always go out of there way to assist me.  I feel as if I have been seeing him for years and I certainly do plan to.  I'm not good at names but they are all just wonderful.  I could not be more pleased and I would highly recommend Dr. Begley to anyone looking for a dentist.  I certainly liked my former dentist but he can't hold a candle to Dr. Begley.

First, in order to deal with my fear of the inevitable needle, Dr. Caputo used Non IV Conscious Sedation in my treatment. He gave me a prescription for Halcyon (four tiny pills only) with instructions to take two at bedtime and two the next morning an hour before my appointment time. He made sure my husband would drive me there and wait to take me home since I had absolutely no idea what was happening. It was kind of hilarious as my husband told me later. So I have very little memory of what took place once I sat down in the chair. I vaguely remember talking to the dental assistant but I must have been totally out by the time Dr. Caputo came in because I don't even remember seeing him. He told me beforehand I would have little or no memory of it so I was not surprised.
The four temporary crowns I went home with that day were interesting to say the least. Not uncomfortable but not something I was used to feeling at all. I had some problems with them of a very personal nature that I won't go into detail about here. Suffice it to say when I relayed my problem to the dental assistant and swore her to secrecy (not even Dr. Caputo could know this!) she didn't laugh at all but took care of it immediately and I went home an extremely happy person. I wish I could remember her name as she was wonderful too.
In fact, all of his staff that I dealt with were absolutely the most kind and caring people I could ever imagine. After the first time I walked in the door, everyone knew my name and used it. I felt very comfortable and welcome there. And the permanent crowns were perfect! They look and feel just like my real teeth did. I couldn't be happier and I can't wait for my appointment next January of 2014 when I will get four more new crowns! Truly, I'm not scared at all anymore and although it is going to take a few years to get everything done, (because I live in Canada and am only in Florida December through March) I finally am on the right road and I know I chose the perfect dentist!

I grew up hating dentist visits. Dentists and their staff were cold and careless, every last one of them. I didn't know it didn't have to be that way until I became a patient of Dr. Caputo. Staff is always accommodating with appointment scheduling. They are always friendly, cheerful, genuinely caring. Everything is always explained in full detail. I am always greeted by name when I walk in the door, and I never wait longer than 5 or 10 minutes. Dr. Caputo is the best dentist I have ever known. He obviously cares a great deal about the patient's needs, always takes the time to explain and to listen very carefully and attentively, making every effort possible to accommodate according to the patient's wishes. He is very careful not to cause pain, lets me know every step he takes before taking them, and I cannot be more pleased with his knowledge, expertise and precision. Teresa is the glue that holds the whole office and practice together. She's always nice and personable, and has scheduling, insurance, and overall office practice down to a science. It's apparent that they don't overbook so that patients are crowding the waiting room for hours on end, like so many other dental and medical offices do. Cindy is a perfectionist (as you want your dental hygienist to be!) and has genuine interest and concern about patient's dental health, particularly gum care. Marti and Sue are wonderful chairside assistants, putting patient at ease and being careful and considerate at all times.
You can feel the team spirit, sympatico and mutual respect for one another throughout the whole office.

I have been a patient there for many years. Recently I had an emergency visit with a toothache, and I am astounded at how quickly I was able to get in as well as be seen and effectively treated after being explained all options available.
The office is always spotless and pleasant. I love being handed a flower as I leave there!

I have been seeing him for over 20 years. When I first started seeing him, had TMJ syndrome. He fixed all of my crowns. Everyone in his office is nice and professional. They are always very punctual and to the minute. He lectures and teaches all around the country teaching other cosmetic Dentists. He is a little bit pricey, but the quality of work is well worth it. He also takes care of the New York Yankees.

I arrived on time and was almost immediately taken in for the procedure. Everything was done for my comfort and to ease any stress.
The procedure went smoothly and quickly and I was home in an hour. Believe me that never happened with any other dentist I've been to.
