" Although I suffer from severe chronic pain, nothing prepared me for the pain in my side Sunday, which kept increasing all out of bounds. I am *sooooo*" glad I remembered the brochure we were sent; this was not only nothing like the typical hospital ER, it is perhaps my all-time best experience with health care providers in my life, and I am including every man and woman I came into contact with there. Dr. used state-of-the-art equipment to quickly establish that I was passing kidney stones and to out other possibilities, literally in record time. I received a referral to a specialist, a shot to start me off, a batch of prescriptions to carry me until I could get in to the specialist, literature about my condition and what to expect, information on billing and who to talk to if something went wrong, a piece of equipment I would need, and all my test results/reports (including images) on a CD- . They were one and all nothing short of amazing. Normally, I expect to come out from seeking medical care feeling worse, since they just run lots of painful, expensive tests, none of them targeted, while you wait for at least six to eight hours in a stressful environment. I was in too much pain to do more than notice the gorgeous fish tank in the lobby and the staggeringly huge television in the private room (all rooms are private). There were no TVs blasting every few feet elsewhere. The whole place was designed around your comfort and peace of mind. I highly recommend them, and would go elsewhere only under duress.

"I visited Wake Med Trauma on 9/4/15, Dr was my assigned physician. The first time I met Dr " , she appeared genuinely concerned about my situation then later on became very apathetic and . I asked Dr several questions about my health and what tests were being ran on me and why. With every question I asked she became sarcastic and nonchalant as if it was of no concern to her. I asked her repeatedly to give me an estimated length of stay, and I always recieved the same answer: "we'll have to see". Dr has the worst bedside mannner I have ever seen from a physician, I am downright appauled at her behavior that day. I remained calm during the entire ordeal and not one time did Dr show any sympathy about my concerns. She repeatedly brushed me off with "Im busy" "I have other patients". I just wanted answers. I would not reccommend Dr to ANYONE.

Emergency and Urgent Care Services

Emergency medicine is a field of medicine in which doctors treat individuals who require immediate attention for acute or critical injuries or illnesses, the main goal of which being to prevent death and disability.

Angie's Answers

I second the original question (still unanswered). Speaking as someone who logged in today to try to find an attorney, I see this category as one that's exactly what I have my Angie's List membership for:

1. It's important that I find a good one
2. I'm not an expert enough to know myself who is a good one
3. The industry is full of advertisements and misinformation
4. I wish I knew what experiences other people have had

I don't care about lawns--I planted mine in clover and don't have to mow it. When I do need to mow I use a rotary Fiskars mower, which is great--or a scythe. That's right--a scythe (the European type, which is smaller, and it's very good exercise). Gas-powered mowers, chemical fertilizers and weed killers--all nasty stuff that gets into everyone's air, soil, and water. I'm sure my neighbor doesn't like my wildflowers, semi-wild pockets of fruit bushes, and unmown areas and yes, dandelions (I have 10 acres) but that's too bad. It's better habitat for wildlife, especially the pollinators on which our food supply depends. I think this obsession with the Great American Lawn is a waste of time and resources. Plant some food instead.

I'm not sure Angie et. al. want you to have a complete answer to this question. By re-subscribing at the Indiana State Fair in 2012, I think I paid $20.00 per year for a multi- year subscription. Maybe even less. At the other extreme--and I hope my memory isn't faulty about this--I think the price, for my area, for ONE year was an outrageous $70.00. And they debited me automatically without warning. I had to opt out of that automatic charge. I like Angie's List, but if some of the companies they monitor behaved the way they do in this respect, they'd be on some sort of Pages of Unhappiness. I'll be interested to see if this comment gets published or censored out of existence.

That's very difficult to answer without seeing the house. As one poster said, the prep is the most important part. On newer homes that don't have a lot of peeling paint, the prep can be very minimal even as low as a couple or a few hundred dollars for the prep labor.

On a 100 year old home with 12 coats of peeling paint on it, then the prep costs can be very high and can easily exceed 50% of the job's labor cost.

A 2100 sq ft two story home could easily cost $1000 just for the labor to prep for the paint job. That number could climb too. Throw in lots of caullking  or window glazing, and you could be talking a couple or a few hundred dollars more for labor.

Painting that home with one coat of paint and a different color on the trim could run roughly $1000 or more just for labor. Add a second coat  and that could cost close to another $1000 for labor.

For paint, you may need 20 gallons of paint. You can pay from $30-$70 for a gallon of good quality exterior paint. The manufacturer of the paint should be specified in any painting contract. Otherwise, the contractor could bid at a Sherwin-Williams $60 per gallon paint and then paint the house with $35 Valspar and pocket the difference. $25 dollars per gallon times 20 gallons? That's a pretty penny too.

That was the long answer to your question. The short answer is $2000 to $4000 and up, depending upon the amount of prep, the number of coats, the amount of trim, and the paint used.

You have to put your self in the shoes of a business that is in business to turn a profit of some sort. All businesses have different overhead which in turn decides what their bottom line would be on their services. I personally would not go with an unlicensed professional for this type of install. You are messing with gas, venting issues, electrical wiring{electric water heater} and updated code issues such as a drain pan and tempature and relief drain lines for heaters that currently do not have them. I do agree that there are some companies that are way out of line for their installs but most of these companies are the really big companies that have very high overheads  I would assume. Tank type water heaters have changed over the last several years and with these safety changes come bigger prices. The price of steel thanks to China is skyrocketing and tank type water heaters are made of steel. Most wholesale plumbing supply companies cannot match what the big box stores are selling at retail to consumers. I happen to think from research that heaters such as Rheem, Bradford White and AOSmith who have been in business forever make a better product than what you can buy in the big box outlets. You also have to take in consideration the location of the water heater that is being replaced. Is it in the house, basement, garage or attic. Most 40 and 50 gallon water heaters that are purchased in a plumbing wholesale store in Texas cost between 300-340 for a 6 year warranty heater with 6 year on parts and tank. Speaking of warranty. Most big box companies will take a least 24 hours to a week to get your warranty problem taken care of. Most reputable plumbing companies will give same day service if they installed the heater.

So lets break down a typical install at cost to a licensed plumber in Texas

Heater: $315, water shut off $6.50, water flex lines or unions to code $20, gas flex line and cut off to code $12, misc fittings $15, Total $368.50 Lets add a 35% profit which is some what low  for a business $129, Total 497.50

This doesnt  include permits, pan and drain or any venting issues. The vent must go from the heater to the outside of roof using double wall vent.

Cost of permit on average $60

Most plumbing companies allow for 3 hours of time for a water heater. This includes picking the new one up. Delivering out to house. Draining and removing old water heater. Hauling off old heater. Installing new heater up to code. Going down to city and pulling permit.

Average Labor charges for heater installs $400

That would make this install run without extras on any code issues $957.50

I just had a 50 gallon gas water heater installed in my house for $1200 but I needed a pan installed. I used a licensed plumber.

Todd said it best.

An itemized list / cost breakdown, more often than not is used against the contractor when it is shared with other builders who will then beat it.

Good contractors use good people, and good people cost more.  Just the cost of having the appropriate insurance / bond can be the difference between winning a job or losing it ot a 'lower bid'.

It is the rule of three; there is Good, Cheap and Fast.  You can have any two:  Good and Cheap, won't be Fast; Good and Fast, won't be Cheap;  Cheap and Fast, won't be Good!

When comparing bids, it isn't the cheapest or the 'nicest' person you should select.   You should understand why there is a large price difference (it shows there are gaps in your design program or what you have asked for specifically, which means there may be arguments later).  If most of the bids are in line, and one is way high or way low,  you want to know why before dismissing or selecting them.

A price-only decision almost always costs more in the long run.

Good luck!

Emergency Medicine reviews in Palm Coast

The ER doctor was very nice. Seemed knowledgable. Some staff were friendly. I will use again but would be very reluctant to use their ER. I know I can't say we won't have to use the ER however since the hand care portion of the ER is the only offered in louisville.

I had never been to - I didn't even know it existed until I fell ill and had to find an urgent care clinic close to me. I found BER online and it had good reviews, so I went in. I am so glad I found this place! I didn't have to wait at all - I was greeted quickly and taken immediately to the examination room. ...More Dr. and his assistant, , were both very kind and efficient. They seemed genuinely concerned for my well-being, providing not only medical help but also comfort and reassurance. I'm making sure that all my neighbors and friends in the area know about this place!
- Susan P.

The first time we went into the emergency room we got into a treatment room quickly. Everything was pretty good except the doctor did not introduce himself and they did not run a urine culture to detect which antibiotics would be effective. After intravenous antibiotics and pain killers. They gave her a prescription for Keflex and released her. We followed ...More up with her family doctor and she thought that everything should be fine.
About 15 days later my wife started to have symptoms of having the same UTI infection (about a week after finishing the anti-biotic). The emergency room was very busy that night and we had to wait for over an hour before being seen by a triage nurse. We waited about another 30 minutes and then got back to a treatment room. My wife had asked for a portable toilet, so she would not have to run back and forth to the restroom every 5 minutes. The nurse said they did not have any (we passed one in the hall way going in). The first time we went to the emergency room, they gave her one immediately. We waited about another 45 minutes until the doctor came in (I did not get her name). She was very good and introduced herself and went through everything with us. She ordered a urine culture and ordered antibiotic injection. She also told the nurse to get my wife a portable toilet and it was in the room in less than 5 minutes. I wish this hospital had more doctors like her. I also think that the emergency room was understaffed for the amount of patients that night. We had to wait another 40 minutes after the doctor visit to have the nurse give my wife the antibiotic injection. She also prescribed , which was proven in the culture to that bacterial that was present in the culture. I think they have some good personnel there, but seem to be staffed very light. A nurse told us that they now have people coming in from outside our area, because the wait times were so short. I guess that does not apply anymore. I also noticed that they could use a better cleaning staff since the room looked like it had not had the floor cleaned in a week. I just think this hospital could do a lot better and provide better emergency care.

At check in, on January 7th, 2015, the Admissions told us that we had to pay $ 6,000.00 that day because it was our total out of pocket under iur health insurance. We had pre-registered with the hospital a month before and had no reason to believe that she could be incorrect. We were told that our choices were to pay the $ 6,000.00 ...More or go home so we paid the $ 6,000.00. She also said that, because we had reached our total out of pocket limit, everything else would be paid for by our insurance carrier.
.The bills began to come in from Doctors and Labs and we were told by our insurand company that the hospital's bill to us should have been $ 788.39, a difference $ 5312.61. This was the adjusted amount after the insurance audit.
This information was transmitted by the insurance company to the hospital.
Now, four months after they made the original error, has the refund "in process" and has been unwilling to provide more information.

The have excellent quality of care. They have high standards and you can tell by the employees, by the service they give. They're patient-oriented and put the patients first.
- Margaret B.

They are very clean, polite and professional. I believe they are one the best medical center in the state. The nurse staff is very informative, and knowledgeable.
- anne M.

They're excellent. The office is very clean, the staff is professional. I never waited more than 10 minutes to see the doctor. We had everything from prescriptions written to X-Rays done. And they follow up, they give you a courtesy call to see how the patient is doing. The office is very clean, they are open 7 days a week, very, very clean. They ...More are on time, I never wait.
- Alanda B.

They even charged $10 for ONE aspirin is how crazy they are. That price is on my bill I am not making it up. My case doctor let my legs blow up with all the saline solution they poured into me and it took ten days to go down, I was scared. I was never asked and didn't approve any of the service charges charged by the private operator, Health Management ...More Associates, piled and heaped onto my bill. They are now merged into Community Health Systems but I bet their over-billing policy is the same. If at all possible, take your urgent care needs to a clinic in Key West, NOT to this money- !
