Mr. Handyman serving Debary, Lake Mary, and Winter Springs
Went well. Mr. Kirby was a fair, honest, hard worker. Time was not a significant issue. So, that it took him a little longer then expected did not bother me and if time was a consideration I think he would have completed sooner for me. Overall great experience and would recommend him and hire him again. In fact, am planning him to do the flooring for me when that time comes.

    Trousdale-N-Sons Construction LLC.
He advised a complete remodel of the bathroom. It was taken down to the studs. The job was subcontracted out to other companies (tile, plumber, etc). I am 6 months into the job completion. He was called to come back several times for minor issues. The half-wall he constructed for the shower has had several issues. I had to complain about the grout in the shower. He left an opening under the sink that I didn't see until cleaning the bathroom. Finally, he left lots of little spots when painting. Not my "dream" as he said.

I needed to remove a closet, repair drywall, and paint on a tight timeline. Jerry is professional, communicated well, and was very accommodating of my schedule. He takes great pride in his work and the quality shows. I highly recommend and plan to use again in the future.

    Paul Culver Construction Inc
Project was to take 4 to 5 months, we are now in the 15th month and are not finished yet. After demolition there was a two month period where no work or progress was observed at the site, as reported by neighbors. The house stood with no roof for nearly three months, with no protection for hardwood floors or intact rooms. Many errors made due to poor supervision and poor coordination of sub contractors. Contractor did not consult owners on many important factors, therefore delays were caused to correct errors. Owner's personal property was poorly cared for (contractor was responsible for packing and storage of contents of the house) , and numerous valuable items have turned up missing. We concluded our association with Mr. Culver with a discounted final payment in February 2017, and he agreed at that time to complete several unfinished items, including tiling the balcony floor, refinishing the dining room floor where it was flawed, and re-painting the exterior sliders where the paint had been rubbed off due to an incorrect installation. He has done none of these things as of May 10, 2017

What stood out was their professionalism. You don't have to bicker with the. they come it and they give you a fair quote and you feel good with that. That stands out the most to me. And they did everything they're going to do, that also stands out to me. I could't get anybody to respond to me. They were like four weeks away to do a quote even and three months away to do a roof. So there was no getting anybody to respond.

    Solidway Construction Roofing Contractor
I  want to give someone a very good rating. It's a roofing company. During Matthew, the hurricane we just had, I have a huge tree come down on my house  and this company came out and fixed my roof and the whole ceiling came down my bedroom and they replaced it and they told me that they would make it look like it never happened and they really did. They were wonderful. They did it all. I mean they literally came and fixed everything like nothing happened. Before Matthew, I have an issue with my roof and he came and fixed that and that's how we found them. After Matthew, it was a massive problem and they came out and really did a great job on it. I had a small problem on the roof, that led to, there was leaking around it. I called them, they came out, did the estimate and started working immediately and I could never tell I had a problem as soon as I had a tree on my roof. I had three guys to take it off and I really needed my roof fixed. Half my ceiling was down on my bedroom. It was a horrendous mess. There are people who have a two-month waiting list for their roof and these people came out immediately to fix it.  Daniel, he is the sales person or the person who comes out and does the estimates on the work and tells you what's wrong. He gets the crew here. In less than 12 hours, they're working. It was better than it never happened. They did a great job. Too bad you don't have an A plus. They came quickly. The do the work very well just like they say they would and they cleaned after themselves. They were very professional. Not any delays. Not any BS. They come. They work. They fix it all. They clean up and then they leave. You really get your money's worth with them. Here in Florida, the construction and roofing people is just normally not this early. They did both jobs definitely less than anybody else wanted to do them. A plus on the quality. They used all top-of-the-line stuff. They took pictures all the way to what they are doing because you can't climb up on the roof to see what they're doing. They send you the pictures to see what's going on which is really very nice. You see what materials they're using and what quality. I am a very pleased customer.

John gave a price and a time to start and finish up front and he did exactly what he said.  He was good to work around our time table we are not early risers . He was helpful in all selections that had to be made (  tile and paint color ).

    Norton's Drywall Inc
I spoke with Jim on April 1st, to discuss getting an estimate for removal of popcorn and redoing the ceilings.  He scheduled to come out on Monday, April 4th.
He was very courteous during his time looking at the ceilings, telling me it would take 4 days and cost $1,800.  The options he explained were to have a smooth ceiling (which he said would be full of flaws due to sagging and time), an orange peel texture or knock down texture.   I am familiar with the textured products and don't find them attractive.   He asked for me to text him my email address and he would write up the estimate.
At 8:23 a.m. on April 6th, I received his written estimate for $400.  In my reply to him at 1:50 p.m., I asked if this is the correct amount and once again asked about the option of a smooth ceiling.
When he replied at 3:26 p.m., he said that yes it is the price and that leaving it smooth would "show all the rolls and waves".
In my 3:51 p.m., reply I told him that I was on the fence about using headboard or tongue and groove as an option but that for this price I was tempted to go ahead and have him do it.  So I again asked "Jim, is $400.00 the total"?
He responded by apologizing that he had sent the wrong estimate and a minute later followed up with the correct one for $1,800.00
After taking a couple of days to consider if this is the way to go I sent him one last email on April 9th. (Before spending this much money and going through so much mess, we wanted to make sure we could be happy with texture.)  In it I fully explained that we have some hesitation about doing this because we don't like the texture very much and asked his opinion about the options of using a product to cover the popcorn and not have to deal with the work and mess of removing it.   I also mentioned that if the sprayed on textures are intended to hide flaws, couldn't he achieve the same end by using a "skip trowel" method of spreading mud on the ceiling giving it more of a plaster look.  I closed by asking his thoughts on the different options and the pros and cons.
There has been no contact from him after that email.
0Although he was courteous during his visit, my two issues are sending an incorrect estimate and having to be repeatedly asked if it's correct then not responding at all to a potential client's questions.   This seems to be a pattern among too many workers out there.  It appears that want to devote a little time to quoting an estimate then have you commit to the work but they're not really interested in truly serving the customer or making sure it's the right choice for them.  If someone no longer wants to do a job or isn't capable of providing the service the customer is requesting, a professional states that.
Making a mistake in sending the wrong estimate is an easy mistake perhaps but should have been noticed in the first inquiry asking if it was correct.  Not getting back to a customer is inexcusable and very unprofessional.
