  • He advised a complete remodel of the bathroom. It was taken down to the studs. The job was subcontracted out to other companies (tile, plumber, etc). I am 6 months into the job completion. He was called to come back several times for minor issues. The half-wall he constructed for the shower has had several issues. I had to complain about the grout in the shower. He left an opening under the sink that I didn't see until cleaning the bathroom. Finally, he left lots of little spots when painting. Not my "dream" as he said.

  • Project was to take 4 to 5 months, we are now in the 15th month and are not finished yet. After demolition there was a two month period where no work or progress was observed at the site, as reported by neighbors. The house stood with no roof for nearly three months, with no protection for hardwood floors or intact rooms. Many errors made due to poor supervision and poor coordination of sub contractors. Contractor did not consult owners on many important factors, therefore delays were caused to correct errors. Owner's personal property was poorly cared for (contractor was responsible for packing and storage of contents of the house) , and numerous valuable items have turned up missing. We concluded our association with Mr. Culver with a discounted final payment in February 2017, and he agreed at that time to complete several unfinished items, including tiling the balcony floor, refinishing the dining room floor where it was flawed, and re-painting the exterior sliders where the paint had been rubbed off due to an incorrect installation. He has done none of these things as of May 10, 2017

  • Let me start by saying I've used Steve at Father & Son Garage Door periodically for at least 10 years, maybe more. Garage Doors and their automatic openers sometimes need adjustments and tweaks. This time I accidentally clipped the bottom of my door with the roof of my truck, and cracked the wood pretty substantially. Steve advised me that those doors from the 70's don't have replacement parts available any more. He ingeniously pulled them back together with ratchet straps and screwed on steel reinforcing plates. Problem solved, and the door works BETTER than before.

  • Removed the old screens completely.

    Power washed all the aluminum framework, including all the spline grooves.

    Replaced all of the screens with 18/14 screening, including both doors.

    Rolled in ALL spline grooves with new spline.

    Replaced ALL of the screws in the structure with stainless steel screws.

    Installed heavy duty (pet) screen in all of the lower panels, including both doors.

    Power washed the complete deck surrounding the pool.

  • We hired Window World to install 17 Hurricane Impact windows and a glass sliding door on May 2014. The windows installed by Window World were not able to pass inspection after 4 months of trying. What was supposed to be a 3 day installation scheduled for June 18th, 19th and 20th turned into 4 months of having to allow window world to try and ?fix? the issue?s so that they could pass inspection. Window world has lied to us, lied to the credit card company and fraudulently charged our credit card, failed to return numerous phone calls and messages, they put our children?s safety in danger by lying and telling us the upstairs kids bedroom windows were fully installed only to find out later that they were barely tacked in, the whole window could move if you touched it with your finger. They left our house damaged from being exposed to water intrusion, mold and bugs. After their 3rd failed city inspection we had no other choice but to terminate our contract with them.  

    We hired a lawyer to terminate the contract, hired a new company to repair the damage to our home and install new windows.
     We paid extra to have WW?s windows carefully removed and stored in our garage so that we could return them to WW. They refused to pick up the windows or admit they did anything wrong, we were willing to cut our losses for the lawyer fees along with the cost to repair the damage done which amounted to  a few thousand dollars. After the fraud department at Wells Fargo did a full investigation and they refunded our money. WW filed for Arbitration against us even though we tried to be courteous and
    fair but they made our lives a living nightmare in any way they could and drug out the whole process driving up our attorney?s fees which put our family?s financial security in jeopardy, what?s infuriating is that we had no choice, they put us in a situation that we couldn?t control. We either kept paying attorney fees or we would lose everything.

     The warranty says ?YOUR ONLY REMEDY IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM IS TO ALLOW WINDOW WORLD TO REPAIR? so they try and trap you with their contract which also says they are not responsible for any damages to your house! I wish I would have read the contract more carefully, but you trust that the contract is just to protect them again people who are crazy. They tried to use that against us saying but thankfully they never technically "finished" the installation so the Arbitrator didn't the warranty clause to apply to us. Most people don?t document enough information to prove them wrong but they messed with the wrong people this time. I am making it my personal goal to not allow this company to put anyone else through the stress and damage we?ve endured for over a year now.  WE WON THE ARBITRATION, but that only is half the battle. Even though we won and are entitled to be awarded attorney?s fees WW refused to pay us so now we have to go to court to fight window world
    to get our attorney?s fees back, which guess what?.... means more attorney?s fees. And it will take months to get the court date and then who knows how long to get the money back. We are only able to get attorney fees back, we can't get back all the money for damages. 

    The main problem with the windows is that they ordered them too small and then tried to cover it up. On top of that there were numerous other problems with the install job... basically they did not follow the instructions on how to install them. Sadly the city inspectors are not allowed to remove the trim to see how the window is really installed which is why it took us 4 months to find out the real problem. They admitted that they install windows like this all the time, so if you've had them install windows in your home and have problems with the caulk cracking or loose trim you probably have the same problems with install but the inspector might have missed it! They provide an installation packet with the permit, I would read it and even consider hiring an inspector to reinspect your installation because it can take years before water damage within the walls of your home becomes apparent!

    I'm sure this company probably does have some good installers who work for them, but at the end of the day when there is a problem it's how the management handles it that shows the true colors of a company. After seeing how this company handles their problems I don't see how they are still in business! 

    You can call the city of Ormond Beach at 386-676-3233 with WW?s License number and ask if they have failed inspections, it?s public record. I am going to be working on getting all the documents and reports proving all of this information to put online for everyone to see the truth as soon as I have time. Because it?s gone on for so long we have an extensive amount. We have several pictures and videos as well.

  • We went into their store to select the door.  We were treated respectfully and quickly.  It didn't take long for us to find our beautiful door.  We paid half down and the other half when it was installed.  They arrived on the date they said they would.  Two men installed the door, and they were quick, professional and extremely neat, cleaning up perfectly.  Our door looks beautiful and gives me joy each time I look at it.  I would highly recommend The Door Store.  I indicated "NA" for the category price because we didn't look anywhere else.

  • Lee and Frank did a fantastic job remodeling our kitchen and our master bathroom vanity!  They are terrific at detailing.  They are perfectionists.  I could not have asked for more conscientious , courteous or experienced craftsman to do our remodeling.

    On the first day, which began at around 7:30 am, the kitchen floor was covered with plastic tarp and taped down.  Then, the kitchen cabinets were carefully removed. (We had asked that they hang 3 of our old cabinets in the laundry room. When hung, the cabinets looks as good as if they were going to be used in a kitchen. They even re hung the crown molding!)  Then the old backsplash tiles were removed.  Next day they started to unbox and prepare the new cabinets for installation.  The box in for the refrigerator and a few of the higher cabinets were installed.  In between this work, the plumber and the electrician came to do their jobs as well.  But, they continued to work around them.  They took a very brief lunch break and went right back to their work.

    On the third day, all of the cabinets were hung and drawers were installed.  As they installed the cabinets they added the hardware.  Minor details were attended to.  By the way, after each day they vacuumed and swept up, even the garage floor.  The only thing left is for the installation of the granite, cook top, double ovens and the dishwasher.

    Again, we are so very pleased with their work ethic and craftsmanship.  They always asked us what we wanted to do if there were any questionable concerns eg. where we wanted the hardware placed on drawers and doors. These men are true carpenters. I HIGHLY recommend them.
