    American Sharpening Co
At dropoff time I showed the repairman exactly where the problem was by getting on my hands and knees and explaining where the issue was:  a mechanical issue on the underside of the chassis.  Rods moving laterally and locking up with each other and should not even be touching each other.  I still had 19 days on my 3-year warranty so I didn't want to disassemble anything myself.   He kept it for 2 weeks then I got a call that it was fixed but it would cost me $140 and change plus tax.   Me: "Why isn't this paid for by Cub Cadet?   Them: "They say they're not going to cover cotter pin replacement."   Me: "So why does replacing 2 cotter pins amount to $150+?"  Them: "Because we ran an expensive electrical diagnostics test on it."   Me: "What?  I told and showed your repairman that it was a mechanical issue!!!"   Them: "Yeah...well...he still couldn't get it to start."  Red flags are going up repeatedly during my interactions with the lady there.   I tell them that I'll bring my proof of purchase with me when I come to the shop and I fully expect the manufacturer to pay for repair (though I totally understand Cub not wanting to pay $150 for an electrical diagnostic test run to solve a MECHANICAL problem).
So, it takes me another 2 weeks to get a truck and trailer big enough to bring my mower home.  It's pouring rain and I'm being told that they're not going to fix my mower because I'm a "disagreeable" customer.  They undid the repair and gave me my mower back.  I explain to them that this is going to turn into a BBB issue due to incompetence and/or dishonesty.   Didn't bother them a bit.   I explained that I'd probably come to Angie's List with the details, didn't faze them a bit.  They apparently have enough suckers lined up as regulars where they don't need new business.   I was not allowed to have a copy of the bill which supposedly had the declination of pay from Cub .  The lady at the register wanted me to sign the bill indicating I'd picked up my mower but nowhere on there did it say that the work was actually done or not done.  She realized I was going to keep a copy of the bill for possible legal action and she snatched it back.    So I have a photocopy of my pickup stub with the date that I dropped it off originally to prove that it was still under warranty when I brought it in.
As it turns out, after a call to Cub Cadet Customer Service, the store owner simply reported to Cub that they replaced 2 cotter pins for $140.  They gave no in-depth synopsis of the work done (explaining the complexity and location of the pins).   Cub thought that these pins were something that sit out in the open air and a child could replace.  They're not accessible without some disassembly of the mower deck.   Cub's Customer Service is going to work with me on this but Customer Service representative recommended I not go back to American Sharpening in Orange Park.
    My negative observations are threefold:
    1.  I SHOW YOU WHERE THE PROBLEM IS, all you have to do is investigate that area.   2 pins and 25 mintues later you're done.  How incompetent can you be not to see the issue for yourself, even without my pointing your nose to it...and think you can attempt to rack up an extra fee with a useless electrical diagnosis?  You're supposed to be a licensed Cub Cadet repair facility for heaven's sake!  Now you just appear to be an incompetent and/or dishonest shyster.
    2.  What keeps literate people from adequately explaining the exact nature of their work to the people who write them a check?  Did they already know that Cub would not take their work seriously so they made the report to Cub as bad as possible?
    3. American Sharpening's nonchalance about screwing over Cub and the customer.  Cub needs to review ALL the work American Sharpening has billed them for to discover if there's a pattern of padding expense reports.

    Mobile Mower Service & Repair
You couldn't ask for much better. Completely went thru our riding mower from head to toe. Found out what and why for the problems and then expertly repaired them. I'm not much at writing all I can tell you is he did an expert job. It's no wonder he is at the top of the list. He shows that in his work and realizes his work is what will make him business.
