Lighting Installation reviews in Oldsmar

    Dwayne Faulkner - TNT Carpentry
Have hired Dwayne in the past to hang fans / lights and with several lights to install, found his charge to do so was about $50 less than the estimate of an electrician we've used in the past. Dwayne's wife is now acting as his assistant rather than his son-in-law and both she and Dwayne were prompt, kept the work areas indoors clean and worked well together. I only wish that the electric cord that was added had been brought down snug to the base of hanging lamp in the dining room. Dwayne did cover the plastic wire connectors in black electric tape but we'd talked about the base being the logical place to have them be least visible and it has since been noted by others that would have been preferable. One of the outdoor lights required trouble-shooting as to where its 'on' switch was and Dwayne was able to deduce this. While not able to hang the third light we'd chosen for outside the front door, he was able to let us know how it could be done, in future.

    FRONTIER CABINET WORKS INC
Our experience with Frontier cabinets was exceptional. Our remodel included a complete reconfiguration of my bathroom; cabinets, plumbing, electrical and flooring. The bedroom included flooring, baseboards, ceiling fan, electrical outlets and drywall repair. From start to finish, every expectation we had was exceeded. Owners Marcie and Eric were prompt, professional and a pleasure to work with and the work done in our home looks amazing! We highly recommend Frontier Cabinets and will contract them for any projects we have moving forward.

Kitchen Solvers of the Gulf Coast
We wish we could give them more than 5 stars. We can't even express how happy we are with our kitchen. It was a great experience, quality work. William kept us up to date on the next steps. The onsite crews left the areas clean every day so it minimized the disruption to our home throughout the project. William is incredibly responsive and is always available to answer questions. Kitchen Solvers is the ultimate example of professionalism, expertise and customer service. A closet space builders pass as a pantry was removed and replaced with a tall cabinet with roll out drawers that effectively tripled our space. We installed a drawer system with a soft close feature that assures doors close slowly, eliminating noise. We're very happy with a corner lazy susan in the new island where we store a ton of things that normally would take up counter space. The cutlery drawer insert, the knife block drawer insert and the spice rack tier organizer are recommendations that helped build our dream kitchen. We are enjoying every aspect of our new kitchen and laundry room.

    Fox Electrical Services LLC
Absolutely awesome. Mike the owner was very quick to respond after I'd purchased a deal for the motion detector. I also asked him about the other work and he gave me a very reasonable quote. Charles showed up to do the work. Was a perfect gentleman and obviously very knowledgable electrician. Performed the work flawlessly. I would "highly" recommend this company. Excellent work for very reasonable prices.

Sarasota's Best Construction & Flooring LLC
Jeff Cohn met us on the appointed afternoon and brought a second fellow with him to help assess scope of work. I would imagine this young man would have been the hands-on contractor with Jeff's firm being the necessary 'General Conractor'. Both were quite pleasant and seemed capable (believe me, we'd had a nightmare of a duo present themselves earlier that same day whom we wouldn't want within 2 miles of our home). We were completely unprepared for the sizable quote we received. By then we had spoken with a (Angie's List) general handyman as well as electrician(s), a plumber, and Home Depot on most of the individual line items. In using these professional(s) quotes we estimated that the same work might cost (if we contracted several of these ourselves) $13,500 - 18,000, at most. When we asked Mr. Cohn to give more isolated dollar amount quotes to the ten or so sub-projects he was arrogant in replying that this wasn't the way his company operated and that the job was too small to make it worth his nickle-and-diming it as such. Where we might then have used Suncoast for some of the work, he/they were obviously not interested. We ended up being our own general contractors and, while it wasn't the least bit easy, I'm grateful that we didn't hire Suncoast. I would advise others in a similar situation to consider using Home Depot or Lowes and a good and competent Handyman they can find through Angie's List.

    Bolt Electric
On initial 'inspection' we were informed technician(s) were on there way and would be there in 1/2 hour.  Arrived at home and when I called to ask where they were (at about an hour after initial call) was told that they had 'stopped for lunch, first' ; they arrived about an hour and 15 minutes after call alerting us they were on their way which was irritating.
On arranging for subsequent appointment was told 'morning of February 9th'.  Cleared our calendar(s) of other appointments and were called 8 a.m. February 9th and told the technician had called in sick so that appointment would have to be rescheduled to 2/13 between12-3p.m.  'Dean' arrived within that window. Dean looked at three separate electrical situations and after determining that we would not have the third item done by BOLT, quoted for the 'can light diagnosis' (a whopping $298 ; when i showed him the $178 for diagnosis ORIGINAL Bolt quote he said 'these are company rates i have to quote' and that 'technically, since i'm diagnosing why your dimmer/fan control isn't acting off of both switches, you're getting two diagnosis for price of one').  I would have thought that since i had called SPECIFICALLY to have a can(nister) light replaced, BOLT would have had parts available (and would have gladly paid reasonable material costs had the part been provided). Instead, Dean determined that there was need for an entire can fixture.  At least he disengaged the faulty can apparatus so my husband needn't have had to.  The fan light/control 'dimmer' diagnosis yielded a stalemate because of the original faulty wiring of this house. Although pleasant and competent enough, Doug left.  At the end of the day we paid $198 ($298 MINUS our '$100 'credit') and still have no (can) light in the socket.  My husband was incensed with this 'deal' and I'm pretty certain he would've preferred i'd have let the $100. 'credit' go and (maybe) called Small Jobs or a handyman instead.  Me?  Id've been okay if, for $198 plus $14-20 for the 'part' we at least had a functioning kitchen can light.  This may be the last of our trusting these Angie's 'deal's' to lead us to using a company.

I am changing my rating for BOLT based on my having made a call to their office to voice dissatisfaction mentioned above.  Both Lyndsey and her supervisor listened to my complaint, explained that the initial bid was by a worker no longer employed by Bolt and was probably low-balled due to his trying to get the entire job; $298 IS their diagnostic fee (as Dean had indicated it was).  Because his error was the basis for my/our having BOLT install one light (using their '$100 off special'), they took the matter up with the owner and promptly called back to say they would install at no charge the can light that was the reason for hiring them.  This workman came as agreed, was professional and also helpful (when the can light was missing a metal cover, suggesting duct tape to isolate, thereby insuring we did not have to return/repurchase another light).  It is wonderful to have a working light where, since our purchasing this home, there has been none.  I /we appreciate BOLT's bent for customer service so am giving them an 'A' for 'Responsiveness'.  They wouldn't be my first choice for future electric work, because of the money they charge, but I am certain there are far worse choices.

Technician was polite & prompt.  I had a breaker that was blowing so I needed all my fixtures inspected to try to pinpoint the problem.  Had some fixtures repaired and replaced.  Was very satisfied with the service.

I was very impressed with Joe Person, our technician.  He called ahead, was on-time, and he was very thorough, courteous, and professional throughout the entire visit.  We ended up getting the 3-year service contract, so we look forward to three more years of what will hopefully be continued excellent service!

    Zaggia Electric
I got to say that I was very impressed with their quality or work, professionalism and they were always on time.  Steady workers and went above and beyond.  I do however feel that when they finish the work a day ahead of their estimate, the estimated price should go down as well.  After all, it was an estimate.
