    Steve, the technician was amazing -- a consummate professional and very nice and friendly guy. Even though it was right after Hurricane Irma hit, and he was getting many calls, he took the time first to give me free advice on the phone about how I might fix it on my own. When that didn't work he came out at a convenient time the next day. He assessed the problem immediately and fixed the door on the same visit. He did a great job as the door works beautifully now. When I presented my Angie's List $10-off coupon he was happy to accept it. I plan on replacing my entire garage door soon so that it is fully up to code for hurricanes. You can be sure I will first call Florida Garage Door Company. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.

    Of 3 people I know personally who do garage doors, Jordan was my the only person I'd trust to do the job right. He installed a new 2 car garage door, new rails and rollers, and new springs. He also helped to educate me on how my original opener works and told me why it was having trouble lifting my old door. The price though was the best part.     I called the garage door people. They came promptly and on time. He diagnosed the problems: a broken spring which caused a motor malfunction. He then replaced it and provided new controllers. He also reinstalled the outside keypad. Everything is now working quietly, and quite efficiently.

    This company was one of 4 in Palm Beach County recommended by Chamberlain technical support HQ. Doorman answered the phone when we called, and made an appointment for the next day, which he kept. He fixed the problem. He recommended that we get a new battery, which will be installed next week. The new battery will be a separate charge.

    I first contacted Kenny approximately 9/25 about a Genie garage door opener that had stopped working and it seemed quite obvious the carriage needed replacing. However, I also mentioned that the light sensors were flashing an odd pattern and that I had already spoke with Genie.  Kenny agreed the sensors were acting odd and blamed all my garage door problems on it's age, the type of motor and a poor previous installation which was done 12 years prior (motor).  
    I wanted to avoid buying a garage door and didn't see what the problem was with keeping mine even though old.  He showed wood rot in spots so I said Ok.  There was still no resolve to the odd pattern sensor lights.
    Several days later he came (always prompt and responsive) to install the door and new carriage.  Tested the door, I wrote him a check, hurried to get back to work and he left.  W hen I returned from work 2 hours later I noticed a hole in the stucco outside the house the size of my hand that had been filled with gooey caulk.  Had I seen this earlier, he never would have been paid! Called him immediately and he said knew nothing about it and asked his "partner" Smitty.  Apparently they dropped something hard enough to pound a huge hole in the side of a concrete wall but Kenny knew nothing? And now, the garage door was also not closing. I was more angry that nobody told me about their damage to the house.
    As for the door not working: He said it was fine before he left, maybe it was the board?  I wondered: Shouldn't that have been tested? When I asked him that he said it's too much trouble and call Genie.  I did and bad board, signaled by the sensor flashes.
    My other complaints about the job were the weather stripping nails and placement:He used stainless nails not where the strip is scored and weather strip is too high, leaving a 1/2" gap below. His response "Smitty~you get spiders in your garage right?".  I told him specifically before door installation I wanted NO gaps. Rodents, palmetto bugs and grass are my concern. They could all fit through.
    After getting a price on the phone, Kenny came out about a week or so later to install a motor and raised his price $25.00 in person. Whatever.  Then kindly refunded the $40.00 I paid for the carriage ($10.00 part).  
    After installation, He could not program my car (2012) with the new motor and  gave me info to call home link.  I asked if I had to pay  even more now for a transmitter to make our vehicles work with the new motor? He acted like he had no idea and said customers never tell him about any problems, cars usually always program with this motor.  (Yes, of course home link has a charge for this xtra unit and only old cars don't need it) .  
    I also asked him to fix  the huge hole he left .  When they came to install the motor Smitty tried his best to patch it  and did so  poorly equipped with the wrong tools and stucco mix.  I called Kenny several times asking if he could come sand his patch.  He said he's very busy and all kinds of other excuses.

    And the last complaint?  
    The paint is coming off the garage door and it's been on for less than 3 months!

    They were supposed to call me to make the appointment and they never did, I had to call them. The owner Peter told me that we had a firm appointment, and that they would be on time at 4pm, and he never showed up. The appointment was made approximately a week in advance. In a nutshell, they don't return calls and don't confirm appointments.

    It went great... I am sorry not to remember all the details, because we used this company at least a year ago, but I do remember that Alex came on an emergency basis on a weekend, and was prompt, helpful, and fixed the problem.

    At Your Service Garage Doors
    The garage door would not open properly as it would stop half-way up.   I looked around on Angie's list and found "At Your Service Garage Doors" and called them.   The company owner John answered the call and said he was in the area and could be at the house in about an hour.    Less than an hour later John shows up and the front door.  I found him to be courteous, professional and knowledgeable.  John explained the situation and proceeded to perform the work after approval.  The door was fixed properly - with the correct springs - in an expeditious manner.
    The bottom line:  if you are looking for someone to fix your garage door problems, then  look no further than "At Your Service Garage Doors".   I was really impressed by John and his friendly, genial manner.  I will be recommending him to friends and neighbors.
