Electrician reviews in Oakland Park

Ariel and his crew did a great job with a very tricky installation. Due to limited space and setback requirements, the gas line between the tank and the generator had to be quite long. Furthermore, the trench was dug by hand, to preserve existing landscaping. It was a lot of manual labor, but they got it done for the quoted price, which was reasonable and in line with estimates from other vendors. The generator works great and after only a few months, you can't even tell how much digging was involved - the yard looks better than it did before they started. We would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a quality generator installation at a reasonable price.

    SC Electric Inc
It was great working with Shawn. It was easy to schedule and he showed up when he said he would. He worked quickly and effectively. He didn't complain about having to fix someone else's mistakes, either. He was very pleasant to work with and I'll be having him back to do lighting work and all of my electrical issues in the future. His pricing is also reasonable. I recommend him without reservation.

    SC Electric Inc
I have to first say that I came to Shawn & SC Electric Inc via the many good reviews about quality workmanship and fair pricing, with that said I'm very happy to report that the reviews are spot on and I think it only fair that I pay it forward in echoing the same sentiment. I had initially called Shawn and set up a time for a quote on the services to be performed, he showed up on the time and on the date he said he would (very important to me) and gave me what I believed to be an fair quote based on others I had received and subsequently decided to hire his services. We set a date for the work to be done and again he arrived on time and proceeded to carry out all the agreed work with his experience and quality workmanship obvious through the process. He was also careful to cleanup as he went along and quite honestly was a pleasure to converse with also. I highly recommend his service and I have already began the process for more electrical installations with him for a future date.

    Strategic Force construction
Richard Concecepcion of Strategic Force contacted me in regards to a job I posted on Angie's List on 2-26-2019. He came to my office, measured the doorways and gave a quote for $1823,20. I needed the job done by the weekend so he asked for a 50% deposit to buy materials which I paid. The job was to be completed on 3-2-2019. I canceled clients for that day to accommodate Mr. Concecepion and his crew. I called about 10 am on 3-2-219 to ask about his ETA he said he was finishing up a job and will be there shortly. I waited at my office until 3 pm and he was a no-show nor did he have the courtesy to call. I called he told me that Home Depot did not have the doors in stock but he will start the job the following day (3-3-2019) at 9 am. I called Richard several times without any response. Like before, I have not received a text, call, email or any communication from him. At this point, I need my $911.60 refunded as I do not wish to do business with this unprofessional person.

    Mitch Joseph Inc
Mitch provided what I thought was a fair price for the work to be done, which included: lnstalling new electrical panel, installing conduit between old panel and new panel, installing new breakers and new circuit extensions, installing new 150 amp rated wire and new breaker in exterior main panel (150 amp Siemens), pulling wire thru old panel to new and close old panel to create junction box, protecting by installing Ground fault protection on circuits first point of distribution, installing smoke detectors according to code to create a whole house fire alarm, installing GFCI in guest bathroom, relocating outdoor post outlet, installing weatherproof box and GFCI on outlet near pool, setting up surround sound and mounting speakers, providing load calculation, obtaining permit, etc. A lot of work was done over a few days period by Mitch and his apprentices. One of his apprentices did great work and one still has a lot to learn, but was guided by his mentor. After the work was completed, I did have a couple of issues arise that Mitch sent an apprentice to take care of. Overall, I am satisfied with the work done.

    Elcon Electric Inc
Totally blown away by the great customer service. I called on Friday to get an idea of what the costs might be and was told someone could be there first thing Monday morning. Then I received a reminder call later that same day. The technician arrived and was great at looking for options & explaining them, as there was no existing fan. Everything went great. He was even happy enough to give me ballpark estimates on some future work. I will definitely use this company's services again.

    America Remodeling
The project was a kitchen remodel where everything except the vintage cupboards were replaced. All the craftspeople involved did a great job. The project was done quickly and care was taken to keep things as neat as possible while we lived through the renovation. This was our second project with America Remodeling and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

HARD LESSON LEARNED TOO LATE: I should have read the Yelp and other reviews before using E. H. Whitson Company. So many were less than stellar and I am kicking myself for trusting them. I found them to be one of those companies that do the EASY rather than the RIGHT thing when dealing with customers, customer service, and corporate responsibility. I trusted them with several home projects including electrical, air conditioning, and plumbing. Disappointment came when we put in a generator. What makes the entire thing even more disappointing and infuriating is that the majority of bad customer service came from the President of the company, himself, John Lipka. The first sign of potential incompetence was over the permits. After 6 weeks of waiting and hearing nothing from the company, I called to see what was taking so long. I expected them to say that it was the permit bureaucracy and that their hands were tied. Instead, I was told that they had NEVER even filed for the permits and therefore would need to start again. Needless to say, my disappointment was great but mistakes happen. I just swallowed it and waited again. And againnothing. This time when I called to inquire (again, they did NOT reach out to me) I was told that they needed more information in order to file for the permits. When I inquired why they didnt ask for this at the very beginning of the process (over 8 weeks previous) they simply said oops, sorry. So now, we were back at square oneagain! Before we contracted for the generator I did some research and due diligence to see if there were any specials offered by the manufacturer, Generac. Indeed, there were, especially on extended warranties. But those specials had deadlines so I told Whitson of the deadlines. In fact, I spoke directly to the President (John), who assured me that all was taken care of. I reminded him that there was a deadline by which the generator needed to be purchased and by which it needed to be installed. He assured me, personally, that he had taken care of everything and there was nothing to worry about. I even called him to remind him of the deadline a few days before just in case it had slipped through the cracks as had the permit process. Again, he absolutely assured me that all was done and there would be no problem. This turned out to be a completely fabricated falsehood. Now, it was close to the deadline of installation. Suddenly I am told that there would be a delay because they have other customers ahead of us and that everyone wants it yesterday. Thats when I finally realized what kind of company I was dealing with. I reminded them that over 8 weeks ago, we were calmly, patiently, and with no pressure waiting our turn and for them to now put us in the category of wanting it yesterday was completely unacceptable, insulting, and a problem that needed to be fixed. They compliedvery begrudgingly. Again, they seemed to prefer the easy thing over honesty, reliability, and customer service. Eventually, the generator was installed. They missed the deadline but, as pure luck would have it, Generac extended the installation deadline due to storms in Florida so we were still eligible for the extended warrantythat is until we learned that John had lied to meboldfaced and without apology. He NEVER had purchased the generator by the deadline even though he expressly told me he did and even though we had paid for it in advance. How did I find out? I called the company he purchased the generator from and was told that he had purchased it just a day or two before, well after the deadline he assured me he had met. Could it get worse? Absolutely! I have called John at least 5-6 times to ask what he would do about this. He told me to get him info on the extended warranty and he would see what he could do. I sent him the info and waited to hear back. And waitedand waited. I called him again and asked what was going on. He promised to call me back. He never did. I called again. He promised to call me back. He never did. I called again. He promised to call me back. He never did. He has promised to call me back to let me know what he will do at least 6 times in the last two months. Im still waiting So, what to do with this information? I pass it on to other potential customers and real estate agents when asked whom I do or dont recommend for home services. I divest myself of any services offered by E. H. Whitson Company. We still have some contracted services with them but those will not be renewed unless John convinces me that our business is important, explains his consistent falsehoods, rectifies his mistakes, and keeps his promises (his previously consistent pattern gives the impression that this will NOT happen). And I post my review on any and all social media sites that accept reviews including on our residential HOA site so my neighbors can be aware of this companys lack of professionalism and inability to take responsibility.
