    Rook's Contracting
I called Travis after reading good reviews about his company. He came out that afternoon to give me a bit. It was competive with other bids. He required no deposit and came out about a week later to rebuild a large section of concrete wall that was between my back yard and street. The work was excellent. The stocco matches the rest of the wall and it's very sturdy. He also completely cleaned up the job site and left it looking great. If I have any other masonry or building needs they will be the first company I call to get a bid.

I attempted to tackle a summer hard scape project. After the non-stop rain and heat I lost motivation and decided to hire someone so of course I turned to my girl Angie who never lets me down and she came through again. After calling several companies they all told me that my project was to small and didn't even bother coming out for an estimate and the ones that did quoted me outrageous prices since it was a small project. After reading RMT masonry reviews I decided to give them a call. I spoke with Rick who came out quickly and provided me with an estimate I was comfortable with. I already purchased a majority of the materials since I tried to do it myself which was an epic fail, so I turned to Rick and his brother Randy to finish the job. I wanted my patio and retaining wall to be even with my pool deck, so there was a little bit more time and skill needed for the project. The patio was a little bigger than 10x10 and the retaining wall was 60ft, curved, and stacked 5 high in some places. Also the pavers and blocks were dropped off in my driveway and its a haul to my back yard. Rick and his brother Randy nailed the project and my wife and I couldn't be happier. The project took about 3 days with the rain and each day the brothers were on time, worked extremely hard, and were extremely respectful/professional to my wife and I. Rick kept me up to speed the entire time and was straight forward with everything. They kept the work area clean and it was spotless when they left. I have used Angie's List several times for house projects and each time she has never let me down, but Rick and Randy were by far the best. If you are looking to have any type of masonry work done save yourself the hassle/stress and hire Rick and Randy, you will not be disappointed. Rick and Randy I want to say thank you for all your hard work and outstanding job!!! HIRE THESE GUYS!!

They were professional and arrived in a timely matter. Bob, the sales rep was with us throughout the process. He explained everything and all the necessary paperwork completed before the work began. He provided a rendering of how the pavers were to be installed.  The workers cleaned up all the debris and left everything neat and clean.
We will use this company again for any concrete work that needs to be done.

I highly recommend this company. Even though it was a small job, they took care to do it right.
When I called, Rick came out the very next day to estimate the job, and they did the work the following day.
    Reasonable price. Billed as quoted.
Very professional, experienced, and nice guys.

The first visit was cut short by rain.  They worked in the rain a good part of the time.  Returned to paint the fence (when it was not raining) and to plant plants.  I was impressed by their hard work, clean up and general attitude.  They communicated well and I will certainly hire them again.

We wanted travertine installed, but were very concerned about getting high quality work. We are extremely picky about work done in our house. Fred came out to the house for an estimate and we had a lot of questions for him. We received an estimate and came to terms on work in the guest bathroom and kitchen / laundy room. The estimate may have been a little more than others, but again, we wanted high quality work. Fred is very knowledgeable of travertine and confident in their ability.
We had the kitchen travertine layed out in a way that IF we decided to continue and have it run into the living and family rooms, the flow or pattern would be right.
Let us just say right here, Fred and Alfonso are true craftsmen / artists with travertine! The guest bathroom and kitchen / laundy travetine turned out awesome! Needless to say, we discussed the living and family room, came to terms, and those rooms turned out equally beautiful. These guys took the steps to make the installation right and if there was a decision to be made, we were part of the decision. In our opinion, the level of detail in and quality of their work is diffiicult to find these days. The travertine is absolutely gorgeous!
    We highly recommend them.

We wholeheartedly recommend Joey's work!  We purchased a house in Tampa that needed extensive work and, by the time we turned our attention to repairing the fireplace, we had a rich and varied experience dealing with contractors and subcontractors.  Joey was one of the best contractors we worked with.  His work product is impeccable, he worked quickly and efficiently, and he suck to the agreed timeline.  He was tidy and respectful of our home and privacy which was very important to us.  His office support headed by his wife Cathi, was just as impressive.  We received great suggestions -- from links to web sites to in-person telephone conversations -- for different types of brick and fireplace doors.  Joey and Cathi will be back in our area in a month or so, and we very much look forward to working with them again.  This time, Joey will be doing stucco work on our house.

Hired BCI to improve my 350 sq foot covered lanai. The job involved pavers on a concrete slab, installation of a tongue and groove ceiling, and installation of a screen with one door. I also am painting the exterior of the house which is something BCI doesn't do but it played a role in the scheduling of the job. The final decision to choose BCI came after a paver sales rep claimed BCI was a top ten installer of natural stone pavers in the Tampa Bay area and that he himself had used BCI for his house even showing me pictures. I contacted Kevin, the owner of BCI, and told him the information I would need to submit to my homeowners association by Jan 31st at noon so that my job could be approved the following day. He got me what I needed with all of five minutes to spare until the deadline.

Kevin had me purchase the pavers directly and submit him a check for 40% of the job's value which I did. The paver crew came as did delivery of the pavers and I was shocked at how loud these guys were not with the job itself but their socializing. Complete disrespect for my home and me and my neighbors was displayed throughout  of the day of installation. The cutting was done right on my lanai next to my sliders thus coating my house in dust some of it making its way inside. I was glad at that point that I didn't paint first as some other contractors recommended. The cutting was done with a saw sitting freely on the pavers and the guy without any safety gear holding the paver and walking it in to the blade as the saw slid randomly backward. They saw me looking at them and at least briefly held the saw to get cleaner cuts. The guy who sealed the pavers the following day was thorough. I had to have some leveling done of the pavers before sealing which Kevin did himself prior to sealing. The outcome of the pavers was a B rating because while they look good overall, the cuts could have been cleaner, and the crew more respectful.

Next came the tongue and groove ceiling. The two other contractors that I considered for the job explained to me some of the complexity of my job because the ceiling slopes and the trusses run perpendicular to the rest where the slope is. Thus something had to be nailed in to the trusses to then attach the 1x6 boards to. When I tried to ask Kevin about his plan, he said that he had done "thousands" of these ceilings and to trust him. He said they would seal the boards first then apply stain. I said that seemed out of order. He then told me his guy confirmed stain then seal. I went to stores to chose a stain and found most exterior stains were also a sealer and therefore it wasn't a two-step process. Apply two coats of stain and you're sealed. The boards were delivered to my house and I told Kevin and the subcontractor who was going to do the work that the boards did not appear to be Grade 1 Cypress as advertised. There was quite a bit of damage to the tongue and grooves and splits in the boards. They were unconcerned and said waste was built in to the job. The following week the subcontractor came to stain the wood. Kevin had told me they would stain it in my garage but they decided to spray it in my grass. They didn't put a tarp down and just turned my grass brown although I don't think there's any longer term damage. The only brought enough stain to two coat one side of the board and I said at least one coat had to be applied to the other side to seal the wood. They purchased another gallon of stain to do that. On day one they showed up late, left early and only stained 2/3 of the wood even thought they said they'd stain it all that day. They came the next day with a third guy and rather than staining the rest of the wood first, they went in to the install along the sloped ceiling. They did not put up any thing to nail the boards into so four hours later 6 boards were up total! They weren't staggering the wood for that wood floor look but they said it was too hard to do so I said okay. I suggested that since so much wood was still unstained, they should return it for fewer longer runs for less cutting and seems given the issue with the trusses. They told me that the job should have been arranged by Kevin to have some plywood to create a better service for the tongue and groove. Because it was difficult to attach the tongue and groove, they weren't able to "blind nail" the boards and so they just fired for effect with nails leaving all kinds of visible holes as the nails went too deep in to the board exposing unstained wood. The seems weren't flush and a lot of damaged wood was installed instead of being made waste. I spent 8 hours over the course of a few days filling holes, taking off blades of grass stuck in the stain, cleaning up the boards and touching up the stain. They were thrilled with their work however. It was a joke. Kevin hadn't used these subs a lot in the past but they both did a lot of work for the same  high-end builders and thus he was confident in them. As I tried to get things fixed before errors were compounded Kevin became angry and left me a couple of nasty messages telling me to let his guys work, they're professionals, and to keep my opinions to myself. They weren't my opinions in most cases as I was passing on what his subs were telling me. He said he wanted to meet with me and the sub the following morning. I was home and he never came to my door. That night on the phone he claimed he had been there and I didn't answer the door. My dog certainly would have let me know somebody was at the door even if I was busy around the house. The day after that the sub confirmed Kevin was there for about 20 minutes but the sub was surprised that Kevin did not come to my door. He left me a message asking for another installment payment. I told him to complete the ceiling and I would pay the amount. After one more day and believing that I had gotten all I could out of his guys, I paid in full and canceled the balance of the job with him. I could have been a jerk because he kept forgetting to get me a contract and all I had was his proposal but I maintained my end of the deal even if he could not deliver a quality job. A D-rating for the ceiling giving a C for the overall job.

These guys definitely prefer to work new construction when the builder comes at the end to fix all the flaws the prospective buyer finds. But being a remodel, it fell to me to correct they're errors. Thanks. Oddly, I incentivized Kevin because I have to redo my driveway soon. He quoted me $7000 for that so I told him do a good job with the first project and he'd get the driveway as well. That's not going to happen now.

They were very professional and I really liked them. They went out to my rental property and emailed me the quote. They said they would also provide a wind mitigation certificate along with their service and I think you need to pay extra, but I'm not sure about it. However, I went with another company who offered a lower price.

    Five Star Pool
My initial inquiry with 5 Star Pool was well received and quickly responded to. A representative from the company came to my home the next day to gather my requirements and to provide me an estimate. The estimate was appropriately detailed outlining my options. Costs were reasonable, in fact, very competitive. In addition, the representative from the company shared with me pictures of past jobs they completed which gave me the confidence to go with 5 Star Pool. As soon as I agreed to proceed with my pool upgrades; 5 Star Pool was quick to respond. They resurfaced the pool and installed the upgrades in a very reasonable time. And prior to leaving the job, 5 Star Pool made sure that the client was happy. I was 100% pleased with the quality of work done.
