Well & Water Pump Repair reviews in North Fort Myers

    Atlantis Water Services, Inc.
On May 15, 2013, my water pump stopped working. I called Atlantis because of the reviews on Angie's List. They came out within two hours and replaced the pump. They gave me the discount that was advertised on Angie's List. I had a 1/2 HP pump, but when Vincent came back from the warehouse, he said they didn't have a 1/2 HP pump so he got a 1 HP pump. He said my pressure tank was bad and it would be just under $1,000 to replace the pump and the pressure tank. I said I wanted to check on the prices for pressure tank and would get back to him. He said ok and installed the pump. He told me that there would be a five year warranty on the pump.
After he left, I looked at the pump label and saw that it said it was for indoor use only. All my water equipment is next to the house, outdoors. I called Atlantis and asked about the outdoor use of an indoor only pump. They said it was fine, shouldn't be a problem. I called the toll-free number on the pump and they said indoor use only or the warranty would be voided. I told that to Atlantis and they said it was ok to be outdoors and that I could put a cover on it if I wanted, but it wasn't necessary.I asked for something in writing about the five year warranty and Vincent said that Atlantis would email it to me. I never received it, even after emailing Atlantis requesting it.
After a couple weeks, the pump got very noisy. You could hardly stand next to it because of the noise and it woke me up at night. On June 12, 2013 I noticed water flowing on the sidewalk by the pump. I called Atlantis and Vincent came back out. He said the pump shouldn't be so noisy and he would replace it. I asked how much the pressure tank would be and he said $600.00. He wouldn't give me any discount because that was a one-time thing. I told him the price was a couple hundred dollars higher that he had quoted me in May. He said that was because I didn't replace it at the same time as the pump. I checked the price of pressure tanks at Lowe's and it was about $150. My friend said he could install it. Vincent was here replacing the water pump. He said if anyone else replaced the pressure tank the warranty on the pump would be voided. I told him that didn't make any sense that it was just a matter of connecting the pvc pipe.
A couple weeks went by with the 2nd "indoor use only" pump and it starting getting noisier and noisier. Last night (7/30/13) I came home and heard the pump running. I had just a trickle of water. The pump was very hot. I unplugged the pump and waited until morning. When I plugged it in, I still had no water. I called Atlantis and they didn't answer or return my call. I called another water service company and he said It had lost the prime. It was reprimed and ran for a short time until the pressure tank was full and then it turned off normally. It was discovered that the pump lost the prime because  water was dripping out of the front of the pump. I called Vincent, the man who worked for Atlantis and he answered. I explained the problem and he said the warranty was voided as explained above. He said he would talk to Atlantis about the problem.
For $600, I expect a pump made to be outdoors and one that will work longer than 1 month!!

After SEVEN DAYS without water, because of the negative review on Angie's list, Atlantis finally replace the pump. Mr. Pruitt called the pump manufacturer and found out that it definitely shouldn't be installed outdoors. They installed a different brand pump, for indoor OR outdoor use. It is only a 1/2 HP pump. I paid them for a 1 HP pump but they refused to give me a refund for the difference in price. They also didn't refund the $75 service call that I had to pay to the other company to trouble shoot the pump and prime it.

Mr. Pruitt called me as soon as the new pump was installed and said I needed to take the negative review off Angie's List. I told him that I would update it, but not remove it. He said that if I didn't REMOVE it, my five year warranty would be voided.  That is probably why there aren't many negative reviews on Angie's List. You can tell by the date on their response to my review that it took them from 7/31/13 to 8/6/13 to replace my pump.

My well pump was not working. I called and the technician came within two hours. He had to leave to pick up the pump at a supply place. When he returned, he said they didn't have the 3/4 HP pump that I needed. They upgraded it to a 1 HP pump for the same price. I also received a 10%  senior discount. I had water again in just a few hours from my call.
