    North Florida Plumbing
He was so friendly and nice that we have hired him to install the new plumbing lines for the new kitchen breakfast bar and island, as well as the new master shower lines. He works with our schedule to come do jobs that take only part of a day and is available when we run into an issue with another trade.

It was more than they anticipated because the flooring was glued to concrete which made the job much more involved and took longer to finish. Then the manufacturer change the wood flooring design, so they had to use spline to snap into place. What normally would have taken 2 days took 5.

I would definitely recommend A&M Restoration any time.

Mr. Crum has done work for me at 2 of my residences many times in the last 30 years, most recently a year ago. He actually built my former home, then renovated and improved the property many times over the course of my residence there. He is a craftsman and gets very involved with his projects. He is on site most days himself and is consistently available to confer with me when needed. His work on my kitchen, baths and built in family room cabinetry in my new home far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend him for all your building needs, new construction and renovations. He has a true eye for detail on each and every project he tackles.

Trying to remodel a 1962 house on a tight budget is a challenge in itself but Art and his crew were up for the task. Everyone was most professional and courteous. The quality of the workmanship was top-notch. It was an enjoyable experience. They'll definitely be my go-to contractor on future projects. Many thanks to Art, Aaron & Jeff and to Frank the plumber and David the plaster guy.

All of the staff was helpful and professional. If we saw any changes we would like, they addressed it immediately. Since they do more remodels they we will ever see, they made a lot of suggestions that they thought would  make the kitchen more ergonomic and useable for us. They paid great attention to detail, draped plastic sheets to minimize the dust and cleaned up their workspace every day before they left. I would use them again in a heartbeat and we kinda miss not chatting with all of them every day during the project.

Ours is a very good experience with D and Art.  We wanted to open up a pantry closet to create a space for cabinets and counter in our very small kitchen.  We have already remodeled much of the kitchen, but were still lacking a finished, efficient room. Because of their excellent rating on Angies List we called A&M Restoration.  They spent time with us to make sure we got what we wanted and what would work with the small space, and then got to work.  D hand sawed wall board and carefully carved out lumber boards to minimize dust and avoid any hidden wires (which there were none).  He perfectly etched out the area and prepared it for the plasterer.  He cleaned the kitchen after each day's work.  The work was spread out over three days, no problem for me, because he was working on other jobs.  And then their plasterer, David, was called.
David also did beautiful work and I paid his bill.  Well, Art's quote included that payment for the plasterer which I didn't quite know because I had changed the scope of work since the original quote was provided.  Art called me immediately after he had received my payment and told me he would be giving me a refund of that payment to the plasterer.  Thank you for your honesty, Art.
One more thing...outside the scope of the kitchen work and without charge, D chiseled down a poorly constructed  drain pipe in the bathroom shower so that the drain cover would fit.  This was something a plumber I called (I would mention his name, but I am a believer in "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all) gave me misguided advice on. Thank you for that, D.

    Mike Hill Construction
The owner, Mike Hill, quoted us a job on our bathroom.  He scheduled times for us that fit our schedule.  I have three small children and planned around their different nap times; they were great about working with me.  All three of the men that did work were professional and kind.  The grouting took time to dry overnight so they came back a total of 3 times to continue the work after the drying was complete.
Mike Hill is easy to get in touch with and we've asked our community association to use Mike Hill Construction for handymen repairs.  They do a nice job and are reliable.  Very good about showing up on time.
I've heard that contractors require payment up front.  Mike Hill Construction was fair and we paid them when the job was complete.

    Gainesville Restoration & Remodeling Inc
Overall it was a very positive experience using Gainesville Restoration.  They were extremely professional and I would definitely recommend them.  They did everything we asked and more in order to get us back into our home by the holidays.  Most refreshing was that if Chris Pickering said it would be done, it was done--and done correctly.   Dependable, reliable, and professional--all words I would use to describe this company.

    Golden Hammer Construction
I used Golden Hammer in the past with great success and looked forward to another great experience. Things did not go well from the very beginning. After finding the home I planned to purchase I called to arrange to meet there to discuss renovations and take measurements so that materials could be ordered so there would be minimal delay once I closed on the house. I ended up selling my other home quickly and moved in while still under construction. I was without a kichen for more than 4 months primarily because the general contractor did not order my cabinets, even though I made arrangements to meet with both him and the cabinet provider at least a month before construction began. The explanation for this error was "I thought you were taking care of it". I am not sure what purpose a contractor has if it is assumed that the customer is doing all the legwork. Pieces of the lower trim started falling off my cabinets within 2 years of completion. Thank goodness for Gorilla glue.

Since completion virtually every single piece of plumbing that was installed has had to be repaired (three sinks and one toilet).  I am now in the middle of having to have my jet tub removed to repair the leak that is under there. To identify this problem alone has cost me $350 in addition to the $212 water bill. I don't have an estimate of what this repair will cost but will update my posting once I know.

There was a great deal of nonchalonce in every aspect from time management, to quality, to supervision of subcontractors. I continue to find sloppy work that I have to pay to be repaired. This is after the renovation cost exceeded the quoted estimate by more than 8k

I have...oops had... a very old kitchen that has perturbed me for many years.  Art and Dee were helpful in making critical decisions and also with the small details.  They removed my old crumbling cabinets and appliances and replaced them with new things. They rewired the stove area and replaced/added some drywall.  They did an excellent job!
When the cat hid in the walls, they patiently helped me get her out of there before adding that portion of the drywall.
Art kept in constant touch with me and if he couldn't work on a particular day, he was prompt and courteous and let me know.  If he couldn't get in touch by phone, he emailed me.
Overall it was a positive experience and I would use them again.
The Ocala portion of A&M built a fence for me.  He, too was prompt and courteous and quickly got the job done.  The fence is very sturdy and attractive.
