    Florida Energy Conservation Advisors Inc
When the salesman arrived I was asked if my wife was home, when I told him no he said that it was company policy to leave. He explained that way the spouse couldnt use the excuse of having to check with husband\wife. As for the in home energy audit, the salesman didnt bother checking the doors and windows around the house for leaks, and as for the attic he peeked his head and said it was good. The following day my AC technician came out to do maintenance on my AC unit and was looking at the duct work in the attic, upon asking him about the insulation levels in the attic he informed me that it was only few inches. The following day I contacted an insulation company that came out and got my attic up to R38. Once he bought in his suit case I knew this was more of sales pitch then an energy audit. Since my house had everything but the surge protector and radiant heat barrier installed already the sales pitch didnt last long. They show an old news report about a family saving money installing the surge protector, but googling the same device you can find plenty of other new stories saying how its a scam. The other product was the radiant heat barrier in which he sets up a heat lamp and shows how no heat goes through the material. I was interested in radiant barrier but when he showed me the price it was over $7000, this is where the fun begins. He then started showing the different discounts I could receive. So instead of just offering the product a decent rate, they jack the price up and give you discounts The price came down to about $5200. After explaining to him that it was out of my current price range he showed me the 12 months same as cash and the credit card\loan rates. Once I explained that I prefer to pay things right away, he seemed disturbed that I wasnt willing to just sign on the dotted line. The day after I received an email from the company offering yet another discount on the product. I went back to Angies list and found other companies in the area that install the radiant barrier at a much better price. The supposed $200 gift was just 4 CFL light bulbs. Not worth the 2 hours for an Energy Audit.

    YETI Construction Inc
Fantastic! I was in a hurry to get this job done, as I was 8 months pregnant when we found mold and mildew in our walls and I wanted to have it taken care of prior to going into labor. I received quotes from 3 separate companies and found this company to be the same price range as my next choice, but liked the people better- they were much friendlier, they understood my time crunch and wanted to help me get it done ASAP, and they also seemed to understand what I was looking for better. I did not want to spend a fortune on the bathroom, especially at this time, but wanted everything done right, at the highest quality possible at the most affordable price. I did not want to sacrifice quality but wanted a price I could handle. Yeti construction understood this and worked with me to achieve the look I wanted without breaking the bank. The construction started on time. The team worked very hard to finish as quickly as  possible, but still providing a thorough, high quality job. They gave us an accurate quote, the only additional amount that we had to spend was on things that we added throughout that we had not initially asked for. They kept me up-to-date on when they would be there and what they planned to do, as well as informed when things changed. They were very friendly and did a great job. Now I have a beautiful new bathroom and don't have the stress of construction with a newborn or the concern that I have a newborn with mold or mildew in the house.

    Time Insulation
My appointment called for them to arrive between 10:00 and 12 am.
Much to my surprise they actually showed up about 3 minutes early.  The 2 man crew were neat, courteous and professional.
They first checked the inside ceilings for a signs of existing damage and then went right to work and finished the entire 2100 sf in just under one hour.
I can truthfully say that I would use them again at any point that I can.

    Norms Ceiling & Drywalls
In July 2011, I had called Norm Liske of Norms Drywall to give me an estimate to repair a house that I had inherited. This was quite a project. I just had the roof repaired and the next step was the drywall. The house had extensive water damage due to roof leaks & neglect. All  the ceilings were in horrible shape, & the walls weren't much better. There was so much damage, I'm not sure Norm knew where to start first. But he DID know where to start, immediately he & his crew started with the ceilings. They replaced the insulation where needed.
When they started on the walls, they discovered rotten wood & termite damage. Luckly, Norm knew a good company that I could trust to treat the house for termites. When that was done, they tore out all the damaged wood and replaced it with new. They discovered mold in the spare bathroom and the family room. They removed it and replaced the walls. When they started painting, I couldn't believe how beautiful my house was beginning to look.
Inside the garage there was a huge hole in the ceiling & the 1 small side door was completely rotted out. The small door leading into the garage from inside the house, needed to be replaced also. The ceiling is repaired and the doors have been replaced. New locks have been installed. It looks like a brand new garage.
Norm and his crew replaced all of my windows and 3 of my sliding glass doors & they installed 3 ceiling fans. They repaired the overhang in my patio area, and installed the outdoor lighting out there. They even helped me by hauling the junk out of my garage.
I'm going to tell you that this job wasn't easy, not even a little bit. Every time Norm and his crew moved onto something else in the house, something would go wrong. Not once did Norm lose his temper. Everything that he said he was going to do & when he said he was going to do it, he did. He was professional at all times. I will definately be calling him when I'm ready to do the outside of my house. Thank you.

    Daniel Insulation LLC
I called Daniel Insulation after seeing many positive reports on Angie's List. After taking some basic information I was told that Progress Energy had an energy efficiency and rebate program and that it would benefit me to call my electric company and schedule a survey to be eligible for the rebate. I followed their advice, had the survey and received a $100 rebate.

Called Daniel back they scheduled within a few days, showed up on time, were very professional - quick and efficient. No muss, no fuss saved a $100 bucks and lowered my electric bill.

    McHugh's Residential Construction
After spending a year looking at new kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, cabinets, etc., talking to friends about their home improvement experiences, and getting a few estimates, I decided to join Angie's List and broaden my options. McHugh's Residential Construction, Inc. was the third contractor I contacted. Bryan McHugh provided all the details I was looking for in the estimate, answered multiple e-mails, tons of questions, made two visits to my home and gave me a very fair/reasonable price for the project. I planned the construction dung the holidays (between Thanksgiving and Christmas) and Bryan said he was going to do everything he could to get us back in the house around December 25th. I made the right choice to move out of the house during this major remodeling. Bryan started the project on November 28th. I was very impressed with all the subcontractors he used, and can't say enough about the quality of their workmanship and the job they did. My husband, son and I visited the house once or twice a day, and always found the house buzzing with activity. I talked to Bryan daily and was always impressed with his prompt responses and the time the took to explain the details to me. Bryan was even able to accommodate additional work requests we had, like the addition of an additional outlet box for lighting at the top of the kitchen cabinets, baseboard in the rooms that weren't under construction and additional drywall work. The work proceeded as planned through the month of December and we moved back into the house on December 26th. There were a few things left to do after we moved back in, like the installation of the new front door, brick pavers, and drywall. My eighteen-year old home has been updated and upgraded, and my husband, son and I are thrilled. Bryan did a lot of work, at a fair price, with exceptional subcontractors, in the time frame he promised. It doesn't get any better than Bryan McHugh and McHugh's Residential Construction, Inc. I highly recommend his company.

    Bill Livingston Inc
Bill was amazing!! He came out the same day we called to give us an estimate. We were so comfortable with him that we asked him to start the next day. He not only did the garage ceiling for us but he brought us extra insulation to make sure our garage was as energy efficient as possible. He was so careful to keep things neat and went above and beyond to make sure the work was perfect. He went out of his way (and his estimate) to make sure that the work we had done previous was re-done the right way and flowed seamlessly with what he was doing. He spent an extra day making sure that everything was perfect and cleaning up behind himself. You will not be disappointed if you hire Bill for your project. You can't go wrong with him. Such a great person and does amazing work.
