The project went very well and we were very pleased with the finished results. Kevin always kept us informed on what would be taking place on a week by week bases. The work was done in a professional and timely manner. I would highly recommend KMS Systems .

Fair. I requested a "coastal package" which uses stainless steel rather than corroding metals due to living close to the ocean. Despite efforts in that direction, the windows I received had regular screws. They replaced the screws that were easy to get to, but some are hard to get to and I'm stuck with those. Everyone was very nice, but they were unable to deliver what I wanted and requested. The final product looks fine and this point but corrosion is a huge problem at the beach and if I'd have known what I would end up with, I'd have gone to a big name company that carries the product with the coastal/stainless steel screws and fittings.

Let me first say I have already recommend John's Traditional Painted to multiple neighbors and friends.
John, of John's Traditional Painting personally provided a detailed discerption of the work to be provided. He was very detailed and went over and beyond in his willingness to work with me on this project. John's company prepped the Exterior of the the property extensively as the home is a block from the beach and has not been painted or maintained property for 25+ years.
As stated previously he was very detailed on his bid and went beyond in places that needed extra attention. Every day he had multiple people working on the grounds (3-5) from early in the morning to late afternoon in many cases and weekends. The exterior prep time alone took over a week of pressure washing and hand scarping. This project was 5+ week long the the level of time and detail spent was greatly appreciated.
Multiple high grade produces where used on the structures and John's knowledge of what products to use was impressive. The man know exactly what to use down to the chemical breakdowns.
Ultimately you get what you pay for and then some with this quality company!

I wanted to replace a kitchen window that went almost to the floor with a shorter window that would allow me to place cabinets along that wall.  I called several people.  I got ridiculous prices and was told several times that I could not have the color frame that I wanted. Then I remembered Angie's List!
Jeff returned my call immediately and came and gave me a reasonable estimate for exactly what I wanted.  He has gone over and beyond with assistance in dealing with siding on the outside which cannot be matched.  Together we have come up with alternatives.  I have done other renovations in other cities and I know that finding a good contractor is not always easy.  I know that small jobs require flexibility when it comes to time and that having the right people makes it worth the wait.  Jeff was also patient with me being out of town a great deal.
Jake came to do the actual work.  He was steady and meticulous in getting the fit and alignment done correctly.  He was extremely tidy as he worked and left no mess at the end.
I am also doing a bathroom and after that, the kitchen.  I will definitely use Harrington Home for both.  The most important thing to me is that the work is done correctly and I have perfect confidence in them.

Harrington used 2 or 3 man crews over 2 days to do the work. They placed drop cloths on the carpet to catch any debries from removing the old windows. The windows were caulked when the installation was completed. They left a little sweeping to be done under one outside window which was minor. I noticed one screw was missing from a latch and they had a factory representative come out from Georgia to replace it under their life time guarantee to repair or replace the windows if needed.

    Florida Georgia Contractors
Ordering Windows - I wanted to comment on my recent experience dealing with Florida Georgia Contractors.  I initially interviewed three companies (Pella, FGC, and one other that does not come to mind) with regard to Hurricane Windows and ultimately settled on Florida Georgia Contractors. The salesman (Tom) was very knowledgeable and helped me select the right product for my house that corresponded with the design.  Based on Toms recommendation, I went with PGT Winguard windows which matched the existing windows in my house. About 5 weeks later, the windows were delivered however noticed that the grid design was off considerably. One of the windows actually had the grid inside of the dual pain window while others were crooked and resided on the outside.   Tom assured me this would be resolved and made calls to PGT to fix the issue which was great. Again at this point I did not have anything negative to say about FGC and was satisfied with their service.

Installation *I am currently acting as a home contractor and subbing out various aspects of my remodel. I experienced some challenges with the installation. FGC and my framer had a discussion about the installation of the windows which I was not a part of. This miscommunication resulted in FGC making 2 trips out to my house and the openings were not ready.  I spoke with the Framer who indicated FGC Did does not listen very well however when I spoke with FGC I received similar comments.. At this point I am not sure what transpired however ended up coordinating a date for the following Saturday. Unfortunately the FGC installer did not show up on the date we settled on nor did I receive a phone call indicating they would not make it. I contact the office the following Monday and it turns out there was some type of emergency and had to reschedule for Tuesday (again it would have been nice to have a phone call however I understand things come up). I came home from work around 5:30pm and found the windows were installed however noticed my hose was running on the side of the house and had had flooded my side yard. I contacted Tom just to give them a heads up about the situation and he indicated Ed the installer did not leave my hose on..  I guess someone walked into my fenced in back yard and just turned it on .. Again it was not a big thing however these little things kept adding up and I think it is important to let people know about my experience.  After inspecting the windows I found that many of the finish pieces were not complete. Example the downstairs window were missing a piece of trim and caps were not placed on the screw hole covers.  In addition the calking around the windows left little to be desired. I ended up re-calking some of the windows myself however before doing the upstairs window wanted Tom to see the gap that did not have any calking in it. It should be noted that Tom did end up fixing these issues but it is one of those things that I had to bring to his attention.    One other note worth mentioning - I had the window replaced above my kitchen sink. Initially I noticed the disposal making some unusual noises and did not put two and two together until it locked up.  I ended up fishing two screws out of my disposal Again it was not a big deal however if you select FGC I would make sure you cover up your disposal

    PGT  Windows
As I mentioned earlier, I had an external grid applied to my windows which did not arrive as designed (Crooked etc).  I called FGC a couple of times to get a status on when this would be resolved and was told this is being handled by PGT warranty department and would be fixed be fixed in a week or so.  Approximately 4 weeks later I was told that a new window would be made next week (5weeks) . For me this was not acceptable and could not help but wonder what had been going on for the past four weeks. After expressing my discontent with PGT to Tom, I received a call from Ken who is the FGC president . Instead of listening to my issues and offering to offering to escalate, Ken basically talked over me and was very rude.  Typically when you are paying a large sum of money for a product you listen to the customers issues. I was very disappointed in the call with Ken and his lack of customer service skills.   With that being said, about an hour after the call with Ken I finally received a call from the tech at PGT (5 weeks later I might add) who indicated he would be out to fix the issues with the misaligned grid pattern in a couple of days.  It should be noted this was the first call that I had received from anyone at PGT.

Unfortunately I wish I could recommend FGC and PGT however based on all of the issue would not do business with them again.

I contracted with Harrington Home Renovations to replace all 16 windows in my home which were 24 years old. Jeff Harrington of Harrington Home Renovations recommended Safe Harbor vinyl frame, impact resistant, energy efficient windows. The work was performed by skilled contractors who used drop cloths to capture any debries in the house from removing the old windows. The new window installation went smooth and without complications. I am delighted with the windows and their insulating properties. The frames don't radiate cold air in the winter like the old metal windows. They are quietier and reduce outside noise. They offer energy effiiciency by reflecting the suns rays away in summer and the low e-glass allows the suns rays in during winter. I also qualified for a $1500 tax credit on my imcome tax by having the windows installed. I recommend Harrington Home Renovations for remodling projects and can attest to their good workmanship. You won't be disapointed.
