  • A year and a half ago I had elective total hip replacement with Dr. Dounchis. I was not yet 60 years old. The day after surgery I asked him how it went and he stated it went well, no complications. Imagine my shock when I saw a cable wrapped around my femur when I finally saw my X-rays about 8 months after surgery. According to him, this cable is a “routine” part of total hip arthroplasty. Numerous surgeons as well as the manufacturer of the cable have since told me that the use of a cable is NOT a “routine”part of a hip replacement . One surgeon told me-“in 15 years of a very busy practice I have only used a cable twice.” So... if you would like a cable wrapped around your femur as part of a “routine” total hip replacement, Dr Dounchais is your man. My recovery was long and painful. I made numerous calls to his office to complain of pain and difficulty with walking and was repeatedly told the exact same words each time by his main nurse-“What do you want us to do? Go elsewhere.” It is still difficult to simply get dressed each morning. Walking my dog is now a chore versus the joy it once was. If you are contemplating surgery with Dr Dounchis I would STRONGLY advise that you follow the advice of his nurse and-“Go elsewhere.”

  • X-rays were taken but no MRI, which is the only way to diagnose and evaluate a torn meniscus. When the doctor came into the examining room, he looked at the x-rays and told me that my other knee was in worse shape. I received a cortisone shot and a list of physical therapy centers to call for therapy. (They could not take me at their own facility.) The prescription for physical therapy is for osteoarthritis, not torn meniscus. Basically nothing was accomplished and I will have to find another doctor.

  • Had three appointments here - one for initial evaluation, one several weeks later when pain persisted and so MRI was ordered. Results were that thumb had a break that didn't require a splint - just @ 6 months of heal time.

  • I had very good medical results with Dr. Zehr. He is really great. I got to the point where I couldn't walk and he replaced both my knees. I don't have any problems with them whatsoever. He was really great.

  • This is THE MOST WONDERFUL company ever.  The people are exceptional.  They took the time to measure, fit, design and order a custom brace that is perfect.  It has restored my husband's mobility.  Highly recommended.

  • All my questions were answered, I was fully prepared for surgery, I was up and walking the afternoon of my surgery and was ready to walk out the door the next day, (but the nurses made me ride to the front door in a wheel chair.) I hardly needed any pain pills. I was walking without a cane by the end of the week. Dr. Mead is awesome.

  • He is very personable and very competent.  He is very polite.  He articulates and speaks well to the patients.  He doesn't rush out.  He has patience all the time he needs and he is very knowledgeable.  He is very personable.  Everything is great.  He is everything I want my doctor to be.

  • He was highly recommended by a friend. The outcome of the surgery was very positive and I am now in therapy and healing well. Before and after surgery, and in my follow up visit, he was very professional, friendly, and has answered my questions thoroughly. His reputation is stellar and I would not hesitate to use him again if needed.

  • All my interactions with Dr Mead have been very positive. He takes the time to explain what the issues are, and to discuss all options to solve the problem.
I never feel like I'm being rushed out of the office.

  • Dr. Guerra had previously operated on a badly frozen shoulder and he also reattached a torn triceps for me. When I called for an appointment his staff got me in immediately for an appointment. Dr. Guerra reviewed my x-rays, mri and bone scan prior to examining me. He offered me an excellent analysis of my condition and various options. (I have necrosis from a prior hip fracture, a torn labrum and a stress fracture in the femoral head.) I felt much more confident in making a decision on when to have surgery after speaking with Dr. Guerra. I am an old jock and have dealt with a lot of doctors in my time. This doctor knows how to deal with athletes. I have great confidence in him.
