    Prestige Dental & Laser Care
Unethical & unprofessional. I went to this office 3 times over the past 18 mos for routine exams/x-rays/cleanings. My previous dentist stopped taking my insurance, so I tried Dr. Tabbita. I’ve had progressively worse experiences each time. I work in health care & understand billing & insurance. There’s a lot of fancy equipment in this office. I know how that gets paid for. Visit 1 I suddenly need 4 cavities filled that same day when I’ve never had a cavity in my life & didn’t have any areas even on “watch” from my previous dentist that I saw just 6 months prior & had been seeing for 3 years. Whatever, it can happen. I trusted Dr. Tabbita & had those filled. Visit 2 I see a temporary fill-in hygienist. There are ALWAYS temps at this office. Difficulty keeping employees perhaps? It’s important to me to have continuity with a hygienist as you spend more time with them than the dentist. They’re ALWAYS trying to get you to do additional imaging & procedures that aren’t covered by insurance. I understand presenting those options at the yearly exam & allowing the patient to pick & choose what they want to pay for, but at the 6 month cleaning? The more I pay out of pocket, the easier it is to pay off all that fancy equipment. Annoyed & frustrated at the pressure & length of time it took to decline all of this, I proceeded with the cleaning with the temp. Visit 3 is 3 months after the “onset” of the COVID-19 pandemic. I see another different temp fill-in hygienist. She attempts to get me to agree to additional imaging & procedures that aren’t covered by my insurance, again. Every single time with this practice. My choice to accept or not, so I decline again. Then right before we start the cleaning, I’m informed there’s a $20 fee per patient to cover the increased cost of PPE (personal protective equipment) for the office. Are you serious? Profiting off a pandemic - the epitome of unethical. When I questioned the ethics of this, the hygienist let me know she was “just a temp.” She did a great cleaning. Dr. Tabbita refused to do my exam since I declined the x-rays that weren’t covered by my insurance plan (which does cover cleaning every 6 months, an exam once a year, and a different type of xrays every 3 years). When I went to check out, I declined to schedule a 6 month appt & asked to have my previous xrays sent to me so I could provide them to my new dentist as I wouldn’t be coming back. I very calmly explained my opinion - it’s extremely unethical to charge patients $20 for PEE, to profit off a pandemic, and to not inform the patient of this until you’re in the chair with your bib & glasses on ready to start. The receptionist gave me some line about the charge being recommended by the American Dental Association & that her nail salon was also charging. Recommended by the ADA to help recoup some of your lost profit when you had to close for a few months due to COVID-19? It’s a tough year. All of our businesses are suffering. If it was maybe a $5 charge, ok. But $20? I calmly told the checkout receptionist that I still felt this was unethical, that this was my 3rd visit to this office & every visit, I was pressured to do more & pay more, so I didn’t feel this office aligned with my health care ethics. I asked if there were always temp hygienists here as I’d always had one, & continuity with the same hygienist was important to me. She looked back through my previous visits in an attempt to argue that, saw that I was correct, & then told me it was difficult to find hygienists given the pandemic. Ok, but the other visits? At this point, the receptionist working check-in, who was sitting behind the check-out receptionist I was speaking to & had apparently listening in, waves her hand behind her head to dismiss me & everything I was saying. The “get out of here” hand wave. I wasn’t being loud or causing a scene, just voicing my opinion & explaining why I wasn’t coming back. If any employee at MY practice did that to patient, they’d be fired. 3 strikes & you’re out with this unethical practice with unprofessional receptionists.

I would highly recommend Dr. Massa for any TMJ issues. The office is extremely nice and it is the best medical office I have ever been to. They are very accommodating and the office staff is very nice.

    Terrero, Dr. Ivan
As I stated previously, Dr Terrero and his staff treated me with kid gloves when I've visited him. The office is in a great area, The Promenade in Bonita Springs, and there is plenty of parking. His office in spotless and the chairs have a great calming view of a golf course. I'm usually a little anxious about dentistry so I know this helped me on more than one occasion. He has state of the art equipment and everything in the office seems new, although he's been practicing for over 25 years! Office manager Linda(not to be confused with hygienist Linda) is a little too excited, but she knows her stuff and can even arrange financing if necessary. These people are really on top of you to make sure you remember to come in. They call you and send you email to make sure you don't forget about your appointment with them. Then you get a newsletter and a survey in between appointments. They really like using the internet to stay in touch with you. I like it that they're not always trying to upsell you on special toothpastes, mouthwashes and other stuff. The reason I dont give them an A on Punctuality is sometimes I have to wait when I'm there before getting taken. This is not always their fault as I think they just take extra time with people and get all their questions answered. Not that big a deal to tell you the truth. What I believe is this, a dentist and a hygienist with plenty experience, fair prices and good service is what everyone wants. If you want to spend big money to brag to your friends, stay or go to Naples. Here is Naples service and office decor without the high prices. So what if its a little drive for me from Naples, maybe a whopping 20 minutes. The office is convenient for everyone from Naples to Fort Myers. I think I have a winner here and I think everyone should know about it. He and his staff are bi-lingual (Spanish) as well so you can feel comfortable in more than one language. I wont use anyone else until he retires, period.

    Conte, Dr. Toniann
My appointment was on time and the office was very clean & modern. The hygienist was very precise & I did not feel rushed. Dr. Conte listened to my concerns and gave me some recommendation for the jaw pain.

    For Smiles
The tooth shattered during removal due to lack of structure in tooth.  The pieces were removed, but large hole in my gum/jaw had to be made to get it all out. Paid cash, went home.  Pain was extreme, but that is to be expected with a rather large hole in ones jaw.  I ran out of pain meds in a week(I stretched out the usage of the meds as I don't care for pharmaceuticals).  Went back for a new prescription and they packed the hole with something that looked like red moss.  It numbed the area for the rest of that morning, afternoon, and evening.  Blessed relief.  After that, the pain slowly started going away as the healing process continued.  A week later I was fine. Paid cash up front since my insurance doesn't cover these particular dentists(I can't stand the two providers in the area that my insurance does cover).  The second visit was not charged at all. They can communicate equally well in Spanish or English.  They are courteous. They are quick and brusque, with little bedside manner, but they are good which helps to alleviate the lack of bedside manner.

    Victor Grasso DDS
I like him as a dentist. I had some complications and I just could not vibe with his receptionist. He is amazing, an excellent doctor. He knows what he's doing. He does not put hardware tracks to rip up the entire face which is absolutely brutal. The price was exorbitantly expensive because I don't have insurance.

    Lehigh General/Implant Dentist
I was having pain in my jaw and lots of swelling. I was told once I may have TMJ . Their office advertises TMJ so I scheduled an appointment. I saw Dr. Miguel Scheel. After all the x-rays and pictures and an outrageous estimate for dental work to be done, I left there in the same pain I went in with and no promise of any relief. I was almost in tear on my way home. I immediately turned around and went back. I insisted he give me something to at least relieve the swelling for now. He seemed put out and irritated. I was the one in pain and he was irritated ?. He refused to give me anything at first and explained I needed to solve the problem not just the symptoms. That may be true, but, I wasn’t planning on getting all that work done that very day. After a few minutes of quibbling back and forth and my scheduling an appointment to go back in a week, he finally gave me a something for my swelling. Within a day or so of taking the prescription, my jaw was 90% better. Needless to say I canceled my appointment and I won’t be going back there for my dental needs. I felt utterly bullied! with zero compassion.
