    We prefer Capital Health Plan. We've been using them for about 25 years. It covers everything we need and the co-payments aren't too high. It has worked well for us. My wife had an operation and everything was covered. We didn't have to pay anything. They're good.

    We are very pleased with our insurance coverage as a whole. Our copays are reasonable and the premiums are manageable. The only thing that would be a negative for us is the fact that we have to pay two seperate deductibles for emergency room and hospital stay visits. For example, I took one of my 6 year old triplets to the ER and he ended up needing to be admitted to the hospital overnight for observation. We had to pay a $250 deductible for the ER visit and then we also had to pay the $250 hospital admittance copay. That was a bill we were not prepared for and I personally think it is excessive.

    Capital Health Plan
    Capital Health Plan is an HMO provider available in northern Florida only. It is routinely rated as one of the top HMO plans in the United States and the best in the state of Florida. My husband and I have been members since 1999 when we moved into its coverage area. Most of the health care providers in the area are in its network. Unfortunately, we both have had medical issues which have required us to see multiple specialists, have multiple procedures and surgeries, and be hospitalized. We have not had a single problem getting any of these services covered by Capital Health Plan. We are now retired and are members of the CHP Retiree Medicare Advantage Program through our former employer and are pleased with that coverage as well. We cannot say enough good things about this HMO. In addition to its excellent coverage and its broad network of health care providers, its office staff is outstanding. We highly recommend Capital Health Plan as a health insurance provider to anyone who lives in its service area.

    CVS Pharmacy

     She then handed me back my prescriptions with the additional admonition that "if I brought them back in a few days, she might consider filling them at that time."The other CVS employees, as well as the customers who were waiting their turn, clearly reacted with astonishment at this rude, defamatory and abrasive behavior, left all with the impression that I was a drug abuser who was trying to "scam" the system.I was humiliated, embarrassed, slandered, defamed and felt that my privacy had been invaded. I was held up to ridicule before members of the public, as well as other CVS employees, all of whom had no right to be informed of my private and personal business.
      My friend was kind enough to drive me to a second pharmacy wherein I explained to a very kind pharmacist the events that had transpired previously. She agreed to fill my prescriptions, but due to my time constraints, I was unable to wait for them. I did pick them up a few days later, when I was able to arrange for another ride.
    This second pharmacist, after hearing my saga, advised me that her pharmacy chain (Walgreens) has a policy of calling other pharmacies in the event that they do not have a certain medication in stock, especially if the medication is a controlled substance.This policy was implemented specifically to avoid situations such as I experienced at CVS.
    In addition to this posting on Angie's List, I intend to pursue the following additional remedies.
    1. File a complaint against this pharmacist with the Florida Licensing Board.
    2. Make CVS' corporate offices aware of my complaint.
    3. As an attorney who has handled other First Amendment cases, especially in the area of Defamation, pursue such legal remedies as I believe both Florida and Federal statutes and case law permit me. (Checking other sites and combing through the internet, apparently what happened to me has become a pattern and practice known and encouraged by CVS and management.
                                                     UPDATE 12/11/12
    On 12/11/12, I received a letter from a representative of CVS' Retail Pharmacy President's Support Team. In this letter, I received an apology for the actions of the CVS Pharmacist and was given assurance that the issue will be addressed by management. I was even given the names of the supervisory personnel who would be investigating this complaint, along with a telephone number that I could call should I have furthur questions or comments. Reading the letter, I felt that this is not the first time an incident of this nature has happened (my reading of the totality of the letter.)
    I was very gratified to receive such a strong and positive response. I am satisfied that CVS will handle this matter and do not plan to take any furthur action.
    In fairness to this corporate entity, I felt that the members of Angie's List should be made aware of this aggressive corporate response.

    Gulf Breeze Hospital
    Admission (through emergency room) went well. Hospital stay was a series of lack of care, attention, communication. The hospital appears to have no knowledge of or interest in care for elders, especially elders with dementia. The geographic area has many retirees who deserve to know this.
