    Nail It Carpentry
Did not hire contractor for the job. I called Claudio Escalera of Nail it Carpentry at 445-6893. He is on Angies List and has his own website of which I visited and it indicated that he does all the items needed to do our job. I sent an email to his email address of everything we needed done at, before actually calling him. When I spoke to him he said his secretary checks the emails and replies back about setting up appointments. An appointment was made and he was scheduled to come to our house on 10-30-2017 @ 6:00pm to give the estimate. On 10-30-2017 Mr. Escalera came in person and on time to do the estimate. He wrote down his notes, took his measurements, and gave me his business card and said the estimate amount would be sent in an email reply. He talked to both my wife and I and made some different suggestions. We were very impressed by his knowledge of his work and he made many suggestions that we felt comfortable with. A week later on 11-06-2017, I emailed him to see if he had sent the estimate to us as it wasn't in my inbox and thought it may have been lost in transition. He replied back the next day in an email saying: Hello, I'm sorry for the delay. I will send you the estimate as soon as possible. Thank you, Claudio Escalera Nail It Carpentry LLC. Two week....three weeks....five weeks went by and I never got a reply email of the estimate. Today is Monday, 12-24-2017 and it has been 8 weeks since Mr. Escalera was at our house writing up his notes to send us his estimate. Because of his knowledge and suggestions of things to do, we probably would have accepted his price regardless of what it was as we really liked him on that day he came to our house and really felt comfortable. If he didn't want to do the job after all, as a business man he should have indicated so in an email or phone call to us. The company we went with (on Angie's list as well) gave us an estimate on the same day they visited our home to review what we wanted done.

I contacted the office and spoke to Jeanette who was friendly, professional, and thoughtful.  I was so impressed with them the previous year when I intended do the work that I called back for a new updated proposal.  This time I requested architectural shingles.  Stacy came out and met me at the house.  He got the necessary measurements and delivered the estimate in a timely manner.  I had so much contact with Stacy that I felt that we were becoming family.  I had done my research, always do your research, so I had lots of follow-up questions.  I was surprised how many times Stacy offered to come by and did show me the explanation.  We corresponded by email and cell phone as well.  They were very professional! I had an unexpected death in the family so all my planning to be there when the roofing happened went out the window.  It went excellently with me not being there! That is unheard off!!  By the way, Stacy also did simultaneously my elderly neighbor's roof which I handled while setting up for mine. They removed all the old roofing all the way to the plywood decking and then applied protective layers recommended with architectural shingles.  I was given many options for how much I want it to invest on my roof.  I bought the works because based on my research the price was nominal and the cost worthwhile.  These folks, from the office, installers, and owners are the best.

    Brian Ferry Construction Company
    Terrific experience.
We removed a tree with limbs that had been hiding some wood rot.  While not an emergency, we needed it fixed soon.
Being able to locate a quality "handyman" on short notice is one of the benefits of Angie's List. We were impressed by Brian's responsiveness and professionalism.  He was able to inspect the situation and give us a written, detailed scope of work and price within a week of contacting him. In spite of a few surprises for him  (for example, he found a nest of carpenter ants) he and his assistant were able to complete the work in one day. In addition to Brian's professionalism, his expertise enabled him to communicate pros/cons of alternative solutions --  so that we could evaluate what we wanted done. Will definitely use Brian Ferry's Construction Co. in the future and highly recommend him.

We loved the look of the old bridge, so we asked Gary to build us a copy of it, and he did exactly that. He's built usthe new bridge that has the same look, butmuch stronger, reinforced structure. We absolutely love it!Gary was great to work with, veryattentive to details and all our requests. His craftsmanship skills are superb. His wife Debbie helped, deliveringmaterials and cleaning the work site. They are an amazing couple and just a pleasure to talk to. They both made these projectsso enjoyable, and the results are beautiful.

Robert Machin did an incredible job building our custom bar and we FINALLY have a double drive through gate that my husband can use, with ease, to move vehicles in and out of the back yard to his shop. We have lived in our house for 27 years, fighting with our gate. Robert fixed this problem and my husband and I are thrilled with the work and fair pricing that we received from Total Home Repair!!! Will definitely use them again!

I got a 130 wind rating for 15 years and 110 thereafter. I have a warranty in hand for that. They responded unlike many other companies. I contacted 11 companies and only got 4 bids, one of which was after the work was done. Tallassee Roofing was kind enough to show me their warehouse and their materials and supplies. Other people recommended them. They did a fast job for the amount of work they had to do. I provided them a written specification on what I wanted with Florida code and licenses. They pretty much had the best price but it was hard to compare apples to apples. They came when they said they would be there. I would use them again.

    About Facing
Since my original review, my cabinets have started turning white in certain areas.  As if the stain is fading on the cabinets which are a dark cherry color.  I do not excessively wash them in fact very little with a product that the contractor recommended.  This started just about a year after they were installed.  This is not the refaced area but the new cabinet doors that he finished himself  and installed - new material.  For this to happen just a year after they were installed and continue to get worse each year, they will need to be replaced again in a year or two or at least refinished.  This was not a quality job. I would warn you to question the quality process of his work and what he does to ensure that this does not happen.  I chose him because he did not offer laminate but real wood material that I could choose my color.  Well the color is turning white and it is just obvious that he didn't do something correct.  I believe a rating should reflect the quality of the product you are receiving.   In addition, the hardware that he raved about so the cabinets would close slowly is all slowly falling off each cabinet door - one by one.  Seeing the deterioration of my cabinets in such a short time, I would not recommend him.

Hinton has helped me with all my projects over the past 4 years, and I have never ever been anything but totally pleased. He has worked for many people in Tallahassee, who continue to use him exclusively. We all belong to his fan club!

Ken came many times to figure out the best and least expensive way to do this job. I was told he is the best person in Tallahassee to do stairs. At first, his bid seemed rather costly but in retrospect his pricing was very reasonable-- his years of experience(NO problems during or after--stairs are complicated) and excellent workmanship(very beautiful stairs) were very much appreciated. We thank him every day we use those gorgeous stairs- they are the heart of our house!
