Auto Repair reviews in Miami Lakes

  • Very professional and knowledgable. Phil and Carlos explain everything and guarantee their work. Great auto mechanics in the Miami Lakes / Hialeah area.

You don't get that helpless feeling that a dealership or franchise repair shop gives you. There are no surprise fees or repairs that aren't needed. When all is said and done, your car if fixed and fixed right.

  • It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was good. It went well. Everybody was very professional. It took them no more than 10 minutes to start working on my car and no more than 30 to give it back which is relatively quick. I guess they were most friendly and they worked a lot faster than I expected. The job has been done well and it was well documented. I was pretty happy with the service. There were no extra charges.

  • Excellent as always. Frank and his staff always take great care of me and my car. He checks in with me to let me know what he finds and what he will do to fix the problem. You couldn't ask for better care. His receptionist, Carla, is very friendly and always makes me feel welcome.

  • This was my first visit to Davie Garage. I took my vehicle to them convinced that I needed new brakes. I also had a rubbing sound at low speed and I didn't know what was causing it.
I dropped the vehicle off for it to be inspected for an estimate. When they called me latter they said it didn't need new brakes and the rubbing sound was nothing to worry about. No charge for the inspection. They test drove the vehicle, inspected all the brakes and even found a couple of items for me to keep an eye on that might need maintenance soon.
I know mechanics have a wide discretion in deciding what work is needed and the fact that these guys concluded that nothing was required and did not charge me for the inspection tells me they are honest and not looking to justify work.
The place was super clean and the mechanics' work areas were very organized. They also have their scheduling and customer communications well managed. There is a nice lady who works the front desk who is very responsive.
As soon as my vehicle does need work it is going back here.

  • A month after Mobile Pro (Paul Meyzen) replaced the u-joints and center bearing on my truck, the drive shaft fell out. He admitted that there was faulty work done but it was his assistant that did the work. He replaced half of the drive shaft because it was bent and could not be reused. When I got my truck back I noticed terrible vibration on acceleration, to the point that I was afraid to drive my vehicle. I decided to take the truck to a chevy dealer because I just could not trust the work that Mobile Pro does and I did not want to take the chance of having an accident due to his faulty work. It cost me $650.00 to replace the entire drive shaft. Mobile Pro refuses to pay me back for the money I spent to fix his sloppy work. When I asked him why he did not replace the entire drive shaft with a factory part, his response was: "what do you expect me to do, keep spending money on your car?". His reply added insult to injury.

  • I took my Durango to Preferred Automotive after the A/C stopped cooling. I first took it to the local Dodge Dealer and was given a estimate of $2300.00. I thought that to be too much so I took it to a local shop who said the same repair would cost $1900.00. I was then referred by a friend to try Preferred Automotive. I gave them a call and talked to Frank, the owner. He said to bring it by and he would be happy to look at it. I got stuck in very bad traffic and called him to say that it may be 4:30 before I got there and he said don't worry, he would wait. I got there at 4:15, he took the car in, ran some test and said that it only needed a relay and maybe a freon charge. It was too late to get the relay so I came back the next day. He had the A/C fixed in less than an hour. He also checked the car over and pointed out that the front tires were worn out enough that the steel belts were exposed! He also sells and installs tires and he gave me a great price on the tires. While there I also had him change the oil and filter. I found him to be very honest and very pleasant. His entire staff including Carla the receptionist were great!

  • They are my regulars. They are outstanding and I would rather go to them than the dealership. There is no B.S. Once I told them I was having problems with the driver's seat and I thought it was going bad. They took it apart and found a hunk of cardboard and that was all it was. They wouldn't charge me for it. They have some oldie-goldie people come in there. They will look at it and not find problems and they don't charge them. I’ve seen that while I have been waiting. They are just like that. I've been going to them for 8-10 years and they do my batteries and whatever I need. They are a little high but they are definitely in the ballpark when you go to the dealership.
