    At&T
It's bundled with TV and local phone. I've only had them since I moved from my new home. The internet is pretty fast. I live in a small town now and there is not a lot of competition. I basically got it as a recommendation from a neighbor. The one time that I had to talk to them on the phone was when I first moved in. I had to talk to a couple of people to get an answer. They were polite and professional. They have a deal with direct TV and there are so many channels. For my needs I don't require that many channels, I don't watch that much TV. The only thing I object is that I think it's a lot of money but I need the internet and I want the landline so I took their deal. I think their price is high. I have a two year contract so after that I probably would look for something that is less expensive.

They tell you what time they are going to come and if they are going to be late or early they always give you a phone call. They have a secret phone number, 611, if you can't remember their number for repairs. I love it. I have talked to my son about this and he says I am getting a very good deal.

They currently have a monopoly in our area. They realize that and their service shows it. They just do not seem to care at all about their customers or their service.

    Mediacom
I get the whole package from them. I get high-speed internet, TV, cable and phone. There are only two companies that I can deal with here. Mediacom is a real pain and maybe most internet services are. I have to say that they are hard to deal with. Their customer service people don't know anything. I will get many answers as the people I talk to. Their communication is really poor within their departments. I've had to deal with supervisors most of the time when I had any real problem. I would never recommend them but they're almost the only game in town. I don't have a choice. There's one other but they're kind of new and I haven't tried them because its too difficult. The service calls are part of what I pay for every month. If it were independent, they'd be way too expensive. I now have a good deal. In the past its been very high. Their pricing is very high. Maybe its because they are the monopoly here in the small area so they can get whatever they want. A lot of their tech support is not very reliable. The communication is poor, sometimes they will miss appointments because they have written it in their calendars wrong. I would not give them any kind of positive feedback. The last supervisor I have talked to was terrific. But that was one person out of the year and a half that I have dealt with them here in this area. She was just a peach. Everybody else gets an F. They're failing in a lot of ways here. I have to use them. I'm renting here and they're the only service so I have no choice.

    AT&T
Tropical Storm Debby came through during the last few days of June 2012.  We lost phone service during the second evening of the storm.  We ended up having about 2' of standing water for more than a month.  As our phone line is underground, we waited to contact AT&T about repairing the line until the flood water had receded.  We started contacting AT&T in early August.  At first we were told that they would be out to fix the line by the following Friday.  They didn't show up and didn't call the alternative contact phone number I had given them.  I called them again later in the week, several days after they were supposed to have the line fixed.  I was told that they didn't come out because they didn't have our exact street address in their computer system, so they didn't know which house they needed to go to (but somehow they're able to mail us a phone bill every month like clockwork, right?).  I gave them our street address and I they gave me another deadline for the line to be fixed.  Again they didn't show up.  A couple days after the new deadline they left a message on my cell phone saying that they needed more information from me (at this point, I really don't remember what it was they wanted), but in the message they DID NOT leave a call back number although they instructed me to call them.  I called the number listed on my caller ID, and I got a message saying that I was calling number that did not accept incoming calls and I needed to dial *(something) on my cell phone instead.  I DON'T HAVE an AT&T cell phone so the star thing wouldn't work for me, so I was back to square one and had to start by calling their main repair number and going though all the prompts again.  It ended up taking more than three weeks and numerous phone calls to get the land line fixed, and I really felt that each person I spoke to didn't care one way or another whether I was satisfied with their service.  And I admit that AT&T finally DID drive me to tears because I was so frustrated.  Once the repair guy finally got out to the house, he was fine and fixed the line, but NO CUSTOMER SHOULD EVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS.  Oh, and they promptly mailed me my bill during all this.  To the correct street address.  We live outside of town and, sadly, our cable service is less predictable than AT&T or I'd switch to internet phone.  For the $82/mo we pay, we should get better "service" than this.
