    Lowman Brothers Construction
I purchased a big deal because I needed to get an estimate to replace a shed that was damaged during hurricane Matthew. I never received a call from the contractor. I've called him multiple times about different issues. I've even emailed him and I never heard back.

    RAMSEY CONSTRUCTION inc.
High quality, high quality, high quality.  Price is a little towards the high end but so is the quality of work. With the door installation, follow up on one issue was required but they followed up quickly to remedy the problem. My husband and I used this contractor for many jobs over a span of several years and the quality of work is excellent.  The owner Pat Ramsey is a master at drywall. He built an entire room on my existing home and it came out excellent, and he did it for a reasonable price. He also re-did all of the drywall ceilings in my home and suggested adding custom molding to give a nice touch of class to the living room ceiling.  I am so glad we took his recommendation on this.  At our rental properties, he installed kitchen countertops, added a porch, replaced soffit & gutters, re-roofed & re-sided a shed, and much more...too much to list here.  All of his work was excellent. I would highly recommend Ramsey Construction for any job.

Good presentation that allowed us several options. Pre-check with my homeowner policy made it worthwhile to include the truss attachment upgrades offered as an option. Wind mitigation inspection afterward gave me documentation to present to the insurance agent. Definitely worth the extra money. Good.
The work took two full days. The crews were extremely hard working about 7AM-7PM with a lunch break. Materials were delivered by a supplier about a half-hour before crew arrival each day. Good.
The roof looked beautiful when finished. The gutters were installed by a separate crew two days after roofing. Excellent job. The space between jobs gave me a chance to paint fascia that had been replaced. The cleanup was good. I was hard pressed to find roofing nails in the yard afterward. Found only a dozen or so in hidden crevices and flower beds. Good.
My only complaints are with the roofing crew. Without permission, they used a ladder and lumber stock from my yard. The lumber was thrown away during cleanup but the company did later replace it with similar stock. After climbing into the crawlspace later, I found trash dumped through the uncovered ridge vent opening -- orange peels, water bottle, snack wrappers. Very not good.
A couple weeks later, I had an opportunity to climb up on the roof for another project which gave me a chance to look closely at the workmanship. It generally looked good, except for the two ridge vents. They looked odd because two different vent types were used. I also found that some of the shingles on the roof vents were only semi-attached with adhesive. A call for repair was returned the same day. Warranty repair was satisfactorily completed within the week after installation of new ridge vent.

    Perry Wright Home Repairs
I Left a message for Perry to call me, and he returned my call that night.  We scheduled a time to meet at my house the next afternoon.  He arrived on time, and we reviewed the work which was to insulate the underside of a flat roof and then install a tongue and groove ceiling.   He got back to me with a price and a contract describing the work within 3 days.    I felt the price was fair so I signed the contract and gave him a check for the materials.   He was finishing up a few jobs and had to order the lumber so he said it would take a couple of weeks to get me on his schedule.   He called within 2 weeks and said the material was in and he was ready to go.  He delivered the lumber the next day and started the work.  The only glitch was, he did not order enough lumber so there were a few days of down time while he waited for additional  lumber to come in.  When the lumber arrived he finished the job and it looked great.  I will be calling him for additional work, and would recommend him.

isappointing thatec, have not received it. 385Went excellent. No problems and they worked around our schedule when we needed to delay getting started. Estimate was fast and detailed. All questions asked were quickly and professionally responded to. Materials were first class and workers were efficient and very good.
One unusual item was a misunderstanding of "payment in cash" for which we received a cost reduction. Our definition of "cash" assumed a cashier's check or electronic transfer of funds. Their definition was for actual currency. This transaction was completed at a bank with witnessed signatures a acknowledging receipt of currency (cash).
One other negative was the lack of responsiveness in upgrading our  solar skylights. After the roof was complete and we had paid the full amount to Total Home, we learned that our 2 skylights had NOT been upgraded to meet the new 2010 FL Building Code. This upgrade was necessary to receive a positive Wind Mitigation Report required by our home insurance for a possible cost reduction. This was NOT part of the original scope of work but Kevin Argo of Total Home (TH) said they should have caught that while they were doing the roof and advised us of the additional cost to upgrade then.  He proposed that if we paid for the material ($385), that TH would pay for the installation ($200).  We felt that this was very fair and told him to proceed.  Over the next 2 months, we called and emailed Mr Argo but did not receive any response from him.  A call to the main office to complain about Mr Argos's unresponsiveness resulted in an email from Mr Argo on 17 Nov, apologizing for the delay.  He then provided the name and number of the Solatube company who would do the work.  We thanked Mr Argo and reminded him that we would need the Wind Mitigation Inspection report after the work was completed.  Mr Argo acknowledged and said he would advise the Inspector to contact us and TH would send us a check to cover the $200 installation cost.  Several more weeks went by.  The skylights were upgraded and after not hearing anything else from Mr Argo, we contacted the Inspector directly.  The Inspector indicated that he had not heard anything about this from Mr Argo but that he had our file would take care of it.  Finally, as of 2 Dec, we are still waiting for the$200 check for the reimbursement for the labor to upgrade the 2 skylights.
While the work and materials for the actual re-roof were exemplary, it is disappointing that TH would fail so badly at finishing the job.

    TJ McDonald Construction Inc

.TJ was seldom on site and did not manage the construction at all, I had do work with the sub contractors as he gave little to no instructions to them.  After final payment we found a problem with the glass doors, the screens would not go on the doors.  He said he would get the rails fixed but after two weeks stopped answering my text and phone calls.  I went to where the glass doors were purchased and they came out to look at them and said the wrong rails were installed, but there was nothing they could do because TJ's people installed the doors.  Now were are stuck with glass doors where the screens will not stay in the doors.

Also have problems with the floors buckling and stucco coming apart in places.

    Total Home Contractors Window Division
They were on time, and they did exactly what they were supposed to do. Their guys were very tidy and cleaned up after themselves. The work was done accurately and in a timely manner, which is RARE in this area. They also stayed within the initial budget estimate.

    Total Home Contractors Window Division
AMAZING FROM START TO FINISH! Initially my husband and I contracted Rob and his team to create a cathedral ceiling and to install new plumbing throughout the entire house. We decided to hire Total Home due to their cost effective estimate and Rob's sincere effort to provide a high quality end project while remaining within the confines of our budget. Throughout this project, my husband and I were personally completing other construction projects within the home  (i.e. framing walls) and Rob and John shared their knowledge and expertise with us (and boy did we ask a lot of questions). Their patience, professionalism, knowledge, and reliability were consistent from start to finish.....so much so that we hired them to complete a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom addition. We would and continue to recommend Total Home as a consistent and reliable contractor for both small and large projects.Rob and his team (from his office staff to the product manager to the guys in the field) will always be our first and last call. It is so refreshing to find and work with a company that is as professional, courteous, and knowledgeable as Total Home!
