Concrete Repair reviews in Medley

    Ross Services
Horrible company. The only positive thing I can say about Ross Services is that their subcontractor was excellent. My driveway looks great, but no thanks to the Ross sales rep Michael Z. or owner Brian Ross (who never bothered to return any of my many calls,) Ditto for receptionist Martha. Instead of putting my calls through to Brian, Martha would route my calls to Michael Z., the rep with whom I was having concerns. The first time Michael Z came to the house to give the estimate, he was very peasant and professional. We scheduled a date and time for him to return to execute the contract ($10,700) and pick up the initial payment. He was three hours late for that appointment - I had taken time off of work to meet with him. Throughout those three hours while I waited, Michael kept texting that he was a short distance away but that traffic was terrible. When he arrived, he was hardly apologetic and was more interested in talking about how long his drive home would be. After the three hour wait, I should have gone with anther company, but I had chosen Ross after doing research and reading a lot of reviews. I signed the contract in April; Michael Z said the permit would take about 4 - 6 weeks, and after that, my new driveway should be completed within a week to ten days depending on the weather and company commitments. In June, I called Ross Services to check on the progress of the permit; apparently Michael had lost my file and nothing had been done on the permit request. The next time-frame setback was the City requiring a new survey before a permit would be issued. (Michael had assured me the old survey would suffice). Finally, the day they began the job and dug up my old driveway, I had to remind Michael that I hadn't chosen a pattern or color for the new driveway and asked him to come back to show samples. He emailed me sample photos but he wasn't able to explain the different color mixes and pattern sizes. He was unpleasant and unprofessional when I asked him to come to the house and go over the pictures. The subcontractor (Danilo Leyva from American Stamp) finally had to take over and explain colors, tints and stamps. He was great. I spoke to Martha numerous days and times trying to reach Brian (the boss) but I never got a return call from him. Six months after signing the contract the job passed final inspection. It looks great thanks to Danilo. I would NEVER EVER recommend Ross Services. Michael Z was horrible to deal with and doesn't know the product. Martha was very unpleasant. Brian the boss was nonexistent. (Beginning to end: contract signed 4/07/16; permit pulled 09/09/16; final inspection 10/13/16)

    Scott Hatfield Handyman Services
Scott came and gave me an estimate.  The following week when the job was to be completed, he and his crew showed up on time.  They were very careful to cover all furniture and floors. They were also careful when removing drapes and blinds.  Scott often checked up on his crew to make sure they were doing a complete job.  Everyone was pleasant.  When they were done painting, all furniture, blinds and drapes were returned to their original place.  They cleaned up thoroughly each day, sweeping the floors.  I would definitely recommend Scott to all friends.  He was very professional and courteous.  He did a great job!  I will contact him for further estimates.

Well they showed up about a half hour late, but when they showed it started raining so we had to wait until the rain cloud pessed by, ones they started the pump there was no stoping, they pump was placing the concrete on the ground and the concrete finisher was smoothing the concete and making it nice and even, they really know what they are doing, well they better cause their ad said that they have been doing concrete work in south florida since 1973.

    American Stamp Concrete
We have been trying for the past 5 years to get a contractor to do a concrete slab with a permit for our back and side patio. After multiple estimates where we were told either that a permit was not required or that the job was too small, we were almost giving up until a friend recommended Angie's List. We got a few contractors names from the web site and finally narrowed it down to two. We really liked Mr. Danilo Leyva from American Stamp Concrete and decided t give him the job. He came across as honest, hard-working, knowledgeable and reliable. All of the above proved to be true not only for him but also fr his crew. The entire team is fantastic, they work well together, help each other and clean up at the end! The outcome was excellent. Working with Danilo was a pleasure, pulling the permit and scheduling the inspections was no big deal (as other contractors claimed), he always shows up when he says he will (very unusual in So Fla) and delivers what he promised. We highly recommend Danilo (American Stamp Concrete) not only for driveways but also for patios.

America's Best Home Improvement - Miami
When I got the estimate of $2700, I asked the contractor how long the job would take... he replied more than 5 days. I asked further how many men would be on the job ... his reply at least 2; sometimes 3. So I presumed that at least 75-90 man hours would be worked on the jobsite. After 2 days, a total of 4 hours had been worked on the jobsite. I was concerned and spoke to Cole M at Angie's list. He advised me to call the contractor to discuss. The contractor was not happy when I questioned him about man hours, but we did finally agree that at least 50 man hours would be worked on the jobsite. The work was completed in 8 workdays and 30 man hours on the jobsite. The work was of good quality, except for 1 open item [glue used to secure the coping stained the pool surface] and $200 was withheld. I expressed my dissatisfaction with paying for 50 man hours, but only getting 30 man hours. I'm happy to pay a fair rate, but think $90/hr is excessive for this work.
