    It ended up that the washer was fine. However, the tech traced the problem back to a leaking pipe that the water from the washer backed into. He reluctantly charged me for the visit, which was fair. If the problem had been with the washer, he would have applied the charge toward the repair. Very pleasant and helpful man.

    After a month of trying to get an LG authorized repair service to repair my microwave, LG agreed to allow an alternate repair center to fix the unit. I found Appliance Tech Services on Angie's list. Lazaro came out, analyzed the oven and quoted the repair cost. The problem was the magnetron. The magnetron was under warranty and would be provided by LG. LG sent a damaged part requiring a lot of extra steps and additional trips out to the repair site. Lazaro persisted and fixed the oven charging me the original amount as quoted. I am very happy with the repair and would recommend him. He is very fair and honest.

    I called mid-day Friday and they sent someone over same day. The repairman was knowledgeable, professional and honest. He drained the washer and got my trapped clothes out and diagnosed the problem - faulty drain pump. He gave me a quote to repair the pump, but also advised me that the drum bearing is failing. While it might last a few more months, when it goes, I will need to buy a new one as repairing the drum costs as much as a new machine. He wanted me to know so that I could decide weather I still wanted to spend money to repair the pump, knowing the drum might fail in a matter of months and I would be having to buy a new machine. I opted to skip the repair and look for a new machine. So he only charged me for the diagnosis. SInce he was there, I mentioned a problem I had with my dishwasher and he got in there and fixed it. He charged me $60 for the washer diagnosis and $80 to fix the dishwasher. I'm very happy with the service.

    Álvaro explained the heating element burned out due to accumulated lint. He replaced it with a new one and shortened the aluminum duct because he says it was too long. Overall an excellent job. I rated B for price but I honestly do not know what is the average price for this kind of job.

    I called Lazaro in the afternoon and a few hours later he came to fix the problem. My Kenmore side by side fridge (about 8 yrs old) was not cooling properly and the ice maker wasnt working at all. Lazaro diagnosed the problems within the first 5 minutes gave me a fair price and immediately got to work. Turns out it was a simple enough fix but the ice maker was dead; it did have to be replaced. Luckily, Lazaro had one in his car. He also took a look at my dishwasher and told me what I could do to fix it. I appreciate his honesty & responsiveness.

    Nelson was very courteous and polite. He was always on time and always called ahead so we could meet. He explained everything. He said the refrigerator might be old but with replacing the motor (which he had to hunt for all over the U.S. and found), the refrigerator should be fine to run even longer.Definitely happy with the work and I will use him again.

    I chose Ace Service Company based on their ad in the Yellow Pages touting 37 years of experience. Do not be fooled into thinking that the owner/employees of this company know what they're doing, as I was. The technician/owner misdiagnosed the problem with our Whirlpool Duet washer as being the central control unit or microcomputer (the brains of the washer). He stated that the part would cost $375 and the labor to install the part would be $125, for a total of $500, and that the part must be ordered from the factory, which would take at least a week. We decided to order the part ourselves, which actually cost $200, on the internet. It was available at several websites, in stock with next day shipping available. We installed it in 20 minutes, but the washer still was not operating properly. We then contacted Whirlpool, and they provided the name of an AUTHORIZED WHIRLPOOL REPRESENTATIVE. The technician from the authorized representative (Flamingo Appliance Service) then properly diagnosed the problem as the Motor Control Unit. We spent another $85 for the service call, plus another $200 ordering the Motor Control Unit. Now the washing machine works fine. As a courtesy, I contacted Ace to give them a chance to provide customer satisfaction before posting a negative report on Angie's List. Their reply was that, had we allowed THEM to do the repair work, THEY would have had to eat the cost for ordering and installing the wrong part. Do not waste your precious time and money on this company! Save yourself unnecessary aggravation and hire an authorized manufacturer's representative. These technicians undergo a certification course and know what they're doing.

    An appliance technician from another company had misdiagnosed the problem with our washer. We ordered and installed the part that the other technician indicated was the problem, but the washer still wasn't operating properly. We then contacted Flamingo, which is an authorized Whirlpool representative. The Flamingo technician recognized and properly diagnosed the problem. He was very professional and obviously knew what he was doing. I wish we had contacted Flamino first, and highly recommend this company.
