    1st Choice Windows and Shutters LLC
    1st Choice Windows and Shutters were an absolute nightmare: multiple no notice cancellations, multiple no shows, unresponsive owner, unresponsive office staff and the list goes on. What was supposed to be a 3 DAY project in March ended up being a 6 MONTH project and there are still unresolved issues. I choose 1st Choice Shutters because they were a "Veteran owned company," Well, I can tell you no former Military member would ever conduct business the way 1st Choice Windows and Shutters does....I should know, I am a 33 year military Veteran. The only glimmer of light was the service technicians were all very professional. However, even they complained about the way the office staff operated and how the business was run. I would NEVER, EVER use 1st Choice Windows and Shutters, nor would I ever recommend them.

    This is in response to a previous review. We finally did get a response from the owner who sent someone to address the issues we had with our replacement windows. He was very knowledgeable about what needed to be fixed and we are very happy to finally have issues resolved.

    All About Sliders Patio Door Repairs
    They came, they saw, they fixed...They were great!...and, they came early! As there were two of them, they each worked on on a door and really cut down on the time. They explained everything that was wrong, what they were correcting and the small thing they couldn't fix, but they told me the alternatives that were available.

    All About Sliders Patio Door Repairs
    Very well. Work done as promised. Even better than expected. The sliders squeaked, rubber trim was tearing and worn out, door handles were broken and sliders pulled closed very slowly. Tom showed up on time, estimate was fair and work completed right then. Turned out better than I expected

    Our initial experience was pretty good. Ordering and installation of our high-impact doors/windows went well. Product quality is good although the doorhandle hardware hasn't held up very well. HOWEVER, our long-term experience has been terrible. One window was broken by a contractor about a year after our initial installation. When we contacted Stormsmart to replace the broken glass, they sent out a technician to inspect the damage and measure the window for glass replacement. We were told it should take approximately 4 weeks for the glass to arrive and be installed. That was 4 months ago ... and counting. About 2 months after the replacement glass was ordered (and after numerous phone calls asking when the repair was going to be completed), the technician arrived to install the replacement glass. It turned out to be the wrong type of glass and the wrong size. So they re-ordered the glass and (again) were told it would be 4 weeks. Again, that was 8 weeks ago ... still waiting. Stormsmart lays the blame for this terrible service on the window manufacturer (CGI in Miami), who they say is notoriously slow. If that's the case, then we wonder why they sell and install this product. Would not go down this path again.

    All About Sliders Patio Door Repairs
    All About Sliders' two repairmen arrived ahead of the scheduled time, gave us what we considered to be a fair bid and went to work. Three of the sliders needed to be removed and tracks and rollers replaced (no small job with these heavy doors); the other three needed adjusting to work properly. The repairmen were pleasant, professional, neat and fully prepared with all necessary tools and parts. I don't believe our doors ever worked this well, even when they were new! We would highly recommend All About Sliders. They are headquartered in Cape Coral and we are located on Marco Island but our location was not a problem for them. We chose this company because of their excellent reviews and they certainly lived up to their good reputation.

    Storm Solutions Inc
    I contacted 4 companies that were listed with Angie's List. Every company was very punctual and responsive when contacting and sending someone to our home to give us an estimate. This was a little difficult to coordinate since we live outside the country. After getting to know each person/company a little bit we decided to go with Storm Solutions and Jimmy. Unfortunately they were the most expensive by several thousand but they appeared to be the most competent and responsive to our needs. Also working with us and out timeline when we would be back in the States. We did order them well in advance. The year before we put 50% down on what turned out to be a shady company and they went bankrupt and we lost our entire down payment. Jimmy knowing this did not charge us anything until the day the windows showed up at our house. 50% at that point and the remainder was paid when everything was completed! Thank you much for standing behind your company! The guys that worked on our home were very good and competent. They had been installing windows and doors for a long time. The unfortunate part was that most of them had about a 1-2 hour drive to get to our home to start work for the day. I was told that the work would be about a week approximately 5-7 working days. Knowing that unexpected things do pop up I understand that there could be delays. They also were awesome working with Truly Nolan so that they could treat every open window and door area with termite protection! Also after exposing some soffit area under our lanai. We realized that there would be some extra work that needed to be performed. That was done at no extra cost. Thank you very much Jimmy. We had two weeks total in Florida. I was hoping to get get everything finished in a week so we could enjoy a week of touristy things with our younger boys. But unfortunately it took almost the entire 2 weeks. Again I realize that extra work was performed and difficulties happen. But there were several days where workers had to finish up at other job sites. So instead of 4-5 workers showing up. There would be one guy that would show up knowing what to do and a helper. So less then half of the crew would show up. This happened several days. Also showing up somewhere between 9-10 daily. Usually on the road at 4. I realize the drive time but that does not help with finishing in the desired time. Thought that if the normal complement crew would have been there daily we would have been on the timeline we both desired even with the extra work. Everything was finally completed as a friend was able to get a walk through to make all the work was performed properly. We also had some warranty work done so needed to get replacement panels from PGT. That took about 3 weeks to arrive. With the delays I have to wait 6 months to see the final finished product! Cant wait. Jimmy was great and very knowledgable and a very good sales person. Was a little disappointed that we seemed to get put on the back burner so to speak especially knowing our timeline being in Florida. Would not hesitate to recommend this company.

    House Doctors Handyman of Naples, FL
    They were on time.  Called before hand every time.  Payment was made easy with their nice office lady.  Clean up after themselves.  If there's an issue, the owner/manager of this location comes by to see if he can do anything.  They are willing to recommend others when out of their area of expertise.
    Expensive, but quality work.  I have used them in the past and I will use them again in the future.

    Mr. Handyman Serving Greater Naples
    We have used this company several times now.  They are VERY good at general handyman things.  They've replaced screens on the lanai, set up a dog door in a screen door, replaced ceiling fans, moved ceiling lights and fans, re-caulked areas that needed it, and this last issue with what looked like a water leak behind the shower head.  Turns out it was just a bad caulking job in the soap holder alcove thingie.  However, they did turn up another issue that we wouldn't have discovered until it was an unbelievably expensive mess.  Right now it's only a couple thousand dollar mess instead of a tens of thousands of dollars mess.
    We have used this company in the past.  We will use this company in the future.  They are highly priced, but the level of service, professionalism, responsiveness, and quality of the work are all worth the money.

    Ace Painting
    Sean and Nathan O'Donnell are twin brothers with whom we have done business for several years. Over the years they have power washed our roof, painted the exterior of our house, painted the entire interior of our house, as well as this most recent work, which was in preparation for the sale of our house.  This is the first time I have submitted a review so I am including all their work when I say that they are courteous, friendly, easy to deal with, honest and professional.  They provided excellent color advice. Their work is professional and efficient.  The work site is cleaned up every day.  
    In short they are a pleasure to deal with and, if we still lived on Marco Island, we would use them every time we needed painting services.  They go above and beyond to be helpful, including helping my husband install a new light fixture at no extra charge when they were painting the kitchen.  
    Their prices are reasonable for what they do and since the quality is excellent we had no complaints.  We recommend them without reservation.
