Roofing reviews in Marathon

Excellent! I text messaged Jesus on a Sunday, he promptly returned my text and arrived the next day to provide an estimate for the job. We had lost some Spanish roof tiles due to Hurricane Irma. Jesus actually repaired our roof that day! I have already highly recommended him to two girlfriends and my husband referred him to two neighbors. Jesus was prompt, friendly and professional.

Great! They worked with the city to get the permits. Everything from quote to completion was done on find and exactly as promised. Jackie in the office was a pleasure to work with and kept me informed all the way through

Within 5 years of installation the roof began severe rusting. In calling Heights Roofing, the roofer came out and agreed to replace the rusted panels. They never came back out to replace the panels. Heights Roofing did not take responsibility and have basically ignored my calls for 2 years. They placed the blame on the metal supplier for inferior or defective metals used.

David Lee showed up for the initial dry-in of our roof in June 2012. He was to come back in 2 months to install the metal sheeting. He's NEVER returned. We've made phone call after phone call to no avail. He doesn't answer his phone. We've tried the old, wait an hour and call from a completely different number. Still no answer. On the rare occasion when he does return a call he makes a promise to be there on Monday. He's never shown up.
It's January and he's promised to be at our house on a said day. He never showed up.
My husband obtained his shop address in Tavernier and drove up there in the hope of catching him in person. This was the day he'd decided to tell David "he either show up today or we file in court for theft". See, we'd already paid for the metal for the eves, and trim.
He never showed up, but his son did. His son said he quit working for his dad due to his lack of work ethics. His son said he'd call my husband in an hour or so to let him know if he'd come finish our roof himself. the son did call and said he'd call tomorrow (today) to let us know the outcome. We're patiently waiting! They have 1 day to get this handled or we're filing in court to sue David Lee.
The City of Marathon said that this has been David's demise....lack of communication, divorce....excuses in our mind.

Lindholm was a pleasure to work with. His crew showed up when agreed on. They cleaned up after themselves. And most importantly did a great job on my roof. I was a little worried as I knew I had some rotten wood on the roof that needed to be replaced. He was very fair on replacing it. I would use him again in a heartbeat.

my first hand experience... to give some backround on this report my name is robert and i move to florida in october of 2009 into my grandparents house to aid them in there old age. as i was painting the exterior of the house i notice the soffit was almost completely weathered all the way around. i informed my grandfather about the situation in which we contacted Keys sunshine quality roofing and got an estiment from. well lets say he got the job and after getting the job but before starting the project my grandfather broke his hip... my grandfather spent about three weeks in the hospital about the same time they started the project on the roof it just happened to be the same time my grandfather returned from the hospital , i almost wished they finished while he wasnt home. the hole time being in the house with my grandparent they did nothing but yell profanaty back and forth to eachother while working on the roof. i remember specifically the one worker made some hand jestures and screamed the F-word no more than five feet away from my grandparents, and my grandfather looked at me in descuss and said "what do you expect? its hard to come by good work these days". boy was he right only if my grandfather knew what i was dealing with right now. i say that in past tense because no more than a week after "completion" of the job my grandfather died of namonia. about a month after my grandfathers death i tried to finish painting what i started in the begining only to find out he missed a few rafters that are routed all the way through. its not a huge deal but i cant paint over it and that was in the agreement at its what he was payed to do. so i call him and inform him of the situation that i discovered, he said he'll fix it right away. a couple weeks go by and i see him in person he said he'll make some time to check it out and ask how my grandmother was, as if he cared. after that 2 months go buy and he never showed. then i run into him doing a roof in my neighborhood and ask him to come by and told him that it was a quick fix i just cant finish painting my house until he takes care of the problem and he said " yea im sorry i've been so busy but i'll make time to square it away" he still never showed and ive been real relax about this problem. my grandfather tought me to be that bigger man and since im acting on behalf of my grandfather im dealing with this the way i think he would deal with this problem. well i bet he never heard of angies list but if he did this is what he would do, enlightin our neighbors of this contractor and allow them to deside. any way it is now september of 2010 and my roof is not finished and my house is not painted. today on my way to work i see jeff from sunshine quality roofing down the street from my house and i approached him while he was in his work truck and i ask him as a gentlemen " so i guess you dont plan on coming to my house" and he relplied " Yea i guess not" and wound his window up right in my face! and then it became official that this dude is an a******. so you guys are my first order of business and then im contacting the bb and b and then im going to the local township building because i dont think he pulled permits for this job either. it really bugs me that the last business agreement that my grandfather did in 83 years of his life is incomplete due to the fact that hes dead and the contractor thinks hes of the hook because of it. i thank you people from angies list and am thankful that you want to try and hold businesses to accountability in the consumers opinion.
