    AAA PRO SCREENING
The job went very, very well. We have had friends who, upon seeing the lanai, thought it was brand new! Ivan (the owner) was very thorough and clearly takes pride in his work. He did not rush any part of the job and made sure I was satisfied with the result. I am very meticulous myself, so not the easiest to please. I am very confident that if I have any issues Ivan would absolutely stand behind his work. I know he provides other services (fascia/trim repair, gutters, etc.) and would certainly use him for that work if & when I need it.

    Lundy's Screen Rooms
No repair has been done and we cannot get Mr. Lundy or his office to respond to emails or calls even though we are willing to pay for repairs at a reasonable rate. Very sad business practices. We cannot recommend Lundy's Screen

    Screen Builders
I needed to replace my deteriorating screen porch enclosure. I initially contacted a different company that one of my neighbors had used and received a quote, but when I asked some questions about the quote they decided they were too busy to do the job.

I found Screen Builders on Angie's List. I contacted them via e-mail and received a quick response. Most of my communication with them was via e-mail, mostly with Debbie Demarco. Debbie was usually pretty quick to reply to e-mail. Jim came out to get measurements for a quote about a week after I first contacted Screen Builders, and Debbie e-mailed me the quote the next day. It was quite a bit higher than the previous quote I had received, but included better materials and a building permit. I asked Debbie about an Angie's List discount, and she told me she would give me a discount when I'm ready, but didn't tell me how much. When I pressed her, she told me she would give me a $150 discount. I decided to go with Screen Builders rather than looking for a third quote.

Debbie e-mailed me the contract and paperwork I needed to get HOA approval for the work, and I obtained HOA approval within a couple of days. Debbie then asked me to send her the signed contract with a deposit (50%), which I did. A day or two later, I received a hard copy of the original (unsigned) contract in the mail, and Debbie said I needed to sign and return that one too, along with a survey. I e-mailed her a survey from my closing and mailed the signed contract. Several days later I received more paperwork in the mail, needed to get a building permit, so I signed those forms and mailed them back. It would have been a lot easier if I had received all the paperwork at once so I could mail everything back together. I mentioned to Debbie that I was going to be out of town for a week, so if she needed anything from me, to let me know before then.

While I was away, I received a voicemail message from one of the engineers (a different Jim) who wanted to take final measurements for the enclosure. The message said Jim was planning to come the same day, a couple of hours later. I called him back and told him I was out of town so he couldn't come until the following week. He said he would let the office know and they would get back to me the following Monday to reschedule.

I didn't hear from anyone, so I contacted Debbie about a week later, and she told me they were still waiting for the building permit. About a week after that I contacted Debbie again to ask about the permit; I also told her that I would be out of town again, and the work would need to be completed in about two weeks from that point, otherwise they would have to wait I was back. The next day Debbie informed me that they got the permit and they would schedule someone to take final measurements. Jim #2 contacted me the next day and came out the following day to take measurements. A few days later I was called to schedule the actual work, so we scheduled it for two days later.

I was expecting the crew to arrive between 9:00-9:30 that morning, and the crew of one (Israel) arrived around 8:30. I asked him if anyone else was joining him, but he said this job only required one person. I brought him around back to the porch, and the first thing he said was that he didn't know he was also removing an enclosure (even though that was on the contract). He said he could handle it, and got right to work.

The work took about 4 hours. The quality of the new enclosure is much better than the original one, and seems to be installed very securely. There are a few minor cosmetic issues with the alignment of the center horizontal beam, but not enough to bother anyone. The screen door sticks a little when you open it, but it's not a big deal. Israel cleaned everything up really well and didn't mess up any of the landscaping or mulch outside the enclosure.

Overall, I think the quality of the work and materials was very good. I thought Screen Builders was a bit disorganized and could have done a better job keeping me up to date, but at least they responded quickly to my e-mails. I would consider using them again, but I would also get a quote from one of the other highly-rated providers on Angie's List before making that decision.

Ivan was wonderful to work with. He is truly a perfectionist. He removed and rescreened our patio porch enclosure including adding brackets to strengthen the metal framework and cleaning out the grooves where corrosion had formed. He explained every detail to us along the way. Ivan also repaired a gutter and installed a new gutter over our garage, going out of his way to special order the correct size so that there would be no seams in the gutter. He is nice, polite and a pleasure to work with. We have plans already to hire Ivan in the near future.
