Joe Salerno is a great agent, and we have been pleased with his staff for many years, which is why we continue to renew with his agency year after year!  He and Angela have done a great job educating my wife and I about our needs and what the cost are for the options we need to consider!  We couldn't be happier!  Keep up the great service Safe Harbor Agency!

I have had USAA home owners insurance since 2004. I was able to become a member because my husband died in Iraq. On July 16, 2013 I filed my first claim because my LG refrigerator?s water line broke off and had been spraying water behind the refrigerator for at least 6 months.  I never saw any water, all the damage was covered by furniture and cabniets.  The only reason I found out there was a problem was when I called to get my ice maker repaired and the repairman pulled out the refrigerator and found the problem.  I immediately called USAA. The representative told me that my coverage would not cover the replacement of the refrigerator, but would cover the repairs to get my house back to its original condition.  I was honest with them and told them it had been happening for at least 6 months, but I never saw any water.  The representative told me that for the repairs I should use USAA contractor because the repairs would be guaranteed for 3 years and if less than $10,000 they would not report it to my insurance company.  So I agree to use their contractor, paying them my deductible on the first visit.  They came out took pictures and assessed the damage.  USAA contractors returned a couple of days later and put in fans and dehumidifiers to dry up what was already there.  I was told by the contractor that in order to rebuild they would need to tear out drywall, cabinets, baseboards, and flooring in three rooms.  I agree to it because USAA had already told me that they would cover the cost of the repairs.  I just received a phone call on August 5, 2013 telling me after looking further at the pictures provide by the contractor they are no longer covering the cost to repair my house stating that the water damage had gone on for ?a while? and that was not covered under my insurance.  They are however covering the cost of their contractor to tear up my house.   They have left my house in unlivable conditions.  My daughter is unable to get into her bedroom because the contractors moved furniture in front of her bed away from the wall.  They remove drywall, insulation, baseboard, and now have wires exposed in her room.  My kitchen has two cabinets torn apart, drywall removed (where you can see through to my daughter?s room), baseboards, and flooring.  I am in a walker unable to walk and my walker gets stuck in the flooring and I feel that I am going to fall. They removed baseboards in other room where the damage was also covered by furniture.   They have left a disable surviving spouse widow with two children with a torn up house, in a dangerous conditions.  The only reason I allowed them to tear up the house was I was given approval that the house would be return to its original condition.  Now that they know the extent of the damage they are refusing to repair it, stating that the water damage had been going on for ?a while? which is not covered under my policy, However I informed the original reprehensive of that aspect and she still approved the claim.  I informed them that I am unable to reach my stove to cook food without fear of falling; they have stated they are not liable because to claim should have never been approved in the first place.   For a company that goes on the representation that they take care of military and families I have found that this is not the case.

The atmosphere in the office is great. Everyone seems like family and treats you the same way. Kim worked hard to find me the best policies/estimates for my two homes and car. Kim really feels very strongly about the community that she is located (and lives) in. I recommend them highly.

They are a great company. During the hurricanes, they called me to make sure I was OK and that we did not have any damage. I love Amica and would definitely use them again. I originally switched to Amica from Geico a few years ago, and they lowered my rate considerably.
