House Painting reviews in Longwood

Excellent. Mark was prompt, reliable and hard working. They detailed what they needed to do and how long they expected it all to take. Best of all, the quality of the work they did, from wood repair to painting was excellent and detail oriented. They also offered very creative solutions we hadn't thought of to electrical and cosmetic issues. We will continue to use them for all our handyman needs!

This review is for Jonathan's Custom Painting a.k.a Jonathan Caldarona, 1601 Ridge Avenue, Longwood Florida 32750. For the first time since living in Orlando for 20+ years and working with many different contractors, we were ripped off for $1,465 by Jonathan/John/Charles Caldarona. He insisted we pay him half of the money for the external wood trim painting and never showed up when he said he would and only started the job. On his first day, while we were at work and rather than beginning the painting prep work, he put his business sign out in our front yard, added chemicals to our roof to show before and after cleaning for a portion of our roof - a service we did not want. He then quickly began to solicit our neighbors and almost had one convinced to contract and pay him for a project since they knew us to always hire reliable contractors. He then started pressure washing our driveway, all bricks, our canoe and our trees. He continued using the high-powered pressure washer to spray all our windows which forced flooding in several rooms and created a mess to come home to after working all day. Jonathan left at that point and said he was not responsible. We were up cleaning up his mess and damages until midnight. He also broke our sprinkler system which would not cycle off and landscape lighting by using too much pressure on the outside equipment and electrical. We had to call an electrician who fortunately took our call at 10 p.m. and talked us through how to disconnect and cut the electrical to our sprinkler system so we could stop it and the watering cycle. Then, when we called Jonathan the next day to let him know not to pressure wash anymore and that we only needed the painting and prepping of the wood trim areas, he went ballistic and said the following: that the project would take longer because our home was trash and more damaged than he thought, that we should pray and ask Jesus for patience, that he contracted with our neighbors and would be around our home for a long time, that he didnt like dealing with people and usually only works on commercial projects. We were stuck at this point not only because we paid him half the amount but because the wood he pressure washed was exposed and some of it warped and damaged from the intensity of the washing equipment. When Jonathan did show up again, it was for a few hours as one of us came home during lunch and would see the amount he did when he was there which was minimal and in the same small area over the garage. But during that small amount of time he again damaged our property by bending the metal roof drip edge in the small section hed been working on. He then said hed send a guy out who could sell us a replacement and we again told him that we only needed the wood trim area of our home prepped and painted and told him no that we did not want to purchase a new drip edge for our house. He also told us that the reason he hadnt been back out was because of his back and said his mother had to give him an Oxycontin for the pain. He never showed up again, just left his trash in our yard as well as his solicitation sign which said Jonathans Custom Painting. Unfortunately, because we are so busy with our jobs, I did not check him out thoroughly beforehand. We learned later that Jonathan/John/Charles Caldarona is not licensed or insured as his sign claims. He is a name dropper and will tell you he only works on million-dollar home, is God-fearing, lives on 5 acres, shows photos of supposed homes hes worked on, doesnt have to work because he inherited money, knows Attorney John Morgan personally, provides references and phone number for people who cannot be verified. We have been sick over this $1,465 loss and the wood he left exposed or damaged from the pressure washing that we still need to have painted and/or repaired. We just want to prevent others from being taken by him as he has likely been swindling unsuspecting citizens for years.

Very well. All services performed following contract, actual painters were very cooperative and friendly, all work was inspected, workers were very neat and follow through was right on target. Am going to use Troy to paint the interior of my son's house next. No hassles, no attitude, no mess.

Angies list recommend R&A construction and Rycass kitchen remodel is what who came to do the work. There were non experienced construction workers working on my home that were apart of a troubled youth program. After signing an attorney reviewed contract stating the job would take 5 months in 2016, they claimed to not be able to finish the job and uphold the contract in 2018. Upon negotiating an exit plan, we agreed that I would pay the last invoice in total after they fix my driveway they damaged. It has been 6 months and they will not return a call or email to schedule the driveway repair. In July I sent an email to the contractor requesting a walk thru as per the website, which he agreed to but then sent his painter and once again hasnt responded to my calls to address the issues that I went over with his painter. I currently have French doors that have gaps and leak water that I sent him pictures of and he has still yet to reply. And the list goes on.

Joel and his crew did a fabulous job. This is the 13th home I have purchased over the last 30 years to live in and this is the best experience I have ever had with numerous painters. He and his crew were at the home when promised and were professional in every facet of their work. The work was completed as promised and the inside of the home looks brand new. He not only did a fabulous job painting but also filled and re-textured numerous damaged spots and holes to give a perfect match with rest of the walls. Dollar for dollar the best money I have ever spent on a painter.

Johnnie acted entirely professionally from start to finish. It was a four hour job and could not be done by me, so, Mr Handyman was a perfect choice. Looking to use them on my next project--bathroom remodel.

We had 2 contractors bid out the work while we were under contract. We essentially knew the major items we wanted to address but also realized things would pop up. Geoff met with us very shortly after we contacted him. We selected Premier (and the other contractor) because of their high ratings on Angie's list. Both did a detailed analysis of the scope of work and asked a considerable amount questions. Geoff was first to provide his bid. We had to wait an additional 2 weeks for the other contractor to submit his (and we had to keep asking for it). The bids were substantially the same. Our main concern was that we were going to be absent for the majority of time the work was being done, only coming in on every other weekend. We needed to hire someone who we had confidence in quarterbacking the substantial work we planned (replace 2,000 sf of tile, reconfigure 2 closets into one and add California closet inserts to all bedroom closets, block off a door and large bay window, add substantial amount of stacked stone, remodel an entire guest bath, partially remodeled the master bath, repaint interior and exterior, not to mention various other work) when we were not there every day to oversee. Geoff gave us that confidence after meeting with him several times. We hired Premier and his team did an outstanding job. They completed the work on a timely basis with high quality workmanship. All of the sub-contractors were courteous (when we met them) and very clean. The demo of the existing tile was a dusty endeavor so they shut down the HVAC and put up visqueen to protect from dust especially in the kitchen. There was multiple folks working on various jobs throughout. I never felt like we lost any work time (which was our concern since we had a hard move-in date). One week prior to the moving van appearing the California closets were still on order and we got nervous. Geoff bird dogged the order which showed up two days before the move date. He had the install team in the next day. When we arrived with 20,000 pounds of stuff the day after, the closets were completely finished. That was huge! I could go on but I think you get the point. Geoff takes this very seriously and he was a true partner throughout the process. I highly recommend Premier.

From the initial quote, to the final product, the work done was excellent! Donnie and his crew (Daniel, Matthew, etc.) were extremely thorough, courteous and meticulous. Will be calling them for interiors next!

Went badly, Very nice owner, no issue there. It is difficult to contract house work on hourly basis and I take the blame for that. the job would have gone much more smoothly if we had simply agreed on a price for the job. They did show up a day late without any notice and it cost me a days work (600$) more than the cost of service, oh well, live and learn.
