    The guys came out within a couple of hours and did an amazing job of pulling up the water then lifting the carpet and putting dryers and a de-humidifier in the room for 4 days.  After they came and took out the carpet, which was ruined.  I'm going to use them to either put in new carpet or some other flooring.  Great job.  Highly recommend them.

    The problem isn't so much with them as with their practices. Now first, I know that there are many, many, many less ethical mold people out there, and these guys aren't that bad. But they aren't the best at explaining what you're signing for, and like most contractors they really don't encourage reading the fine print.
    My hot water heater broke. My plumber said "your walls are wet, and you have mold here." I said "but I can barely pay you." He assured me that my home owners would cover it, and that he knew a mold company that were reliable and would make sure that it was covered. On came United Water, again a nice guy. He too assured me the dryout would be covered (after looking at my policy, so again that seemed OK) and I signed a contract for what I presumed was the dryout.
    United Water came, set up a HEPA Vacuum and an air scrubber. They scrapped off some mold; they dried out my walls.  Great! Then I started getting phone calls from someone asking about about "rebuilding my house" ... keep in mind my problem was that I had a hot water leak, not a major flood ... I ignored them. Then I got a rather terse letter in the mail ... addressed to a "Mrs. Booker" who is not me, and not anyone in this house ... again talking about setting up an appointment "regarding the rebuild of my home." I presumed it was a scam letter, like the ones you get from the ticket lawyers if you have a traffic ticket.
    Meanwhile my insurance calls and says that my claim with United Water has been paid, and I don't owe them anything additional.
    The phone calls started again, so I called them back. The FIRST thing I asked was "are you related to United Water?" The woman said "No." And then she proceeds to tell me that I signed a contract with them.
    In the end I'm about to send them $250 to make them go away.  I don't know what I'm paying for as no one from United Reconstruction ever set foot in my house. I do know that the dry out was paid for. Further my home doesn't need a "rebuild." I did sign a contract, and I found it in the folder with my United Water stuff ... that and the name does indeed suggest to me that they are related.
    So why lie? I don't know, but it didn't sit well with me, so I'm paying them off rather than continue with them. United Water was fine; United Reconstruction ... and the fact that the United Water gentleman had me sign a contract with them ... not so fine.

    For those of you who don?t plan on reading this entire review just hire Riley with Option 1 Restoration. You will not be disappointed.

    My problem started with a small leak that was created by my air conditioner. The leak was slow and had been ongoing for awhile.  Being a ?hidden leak? over time it had created mold in a closet, drywall, inside the walls and behind the kitchen cabinets. My problem was so severe that the mold had gotten into my blood stream. (Not as rare as I had originally been led to believe!)  After the lab did blood work determining that I indeed had mold present in my bloodstream, we began searching and looking and found that the problem existed behind bedroom furniture and in the walls, etc??.as there was no visible evidence of a leak from the living space.

    I called Option 1 and that?s when we met Riley. He came out to see how he could help. He was on time for our appointment and was very helpful. He had tests performed before the remediation started and after it was complete to ensure the mold was eradicated. It was a long drying and removal process since this problem had been here awhile. His employees all did great work and had a great attitude. They were so respectful and helpful I felt like their only interest was in helping me get better. The quality of work was great, too. Every night they left the job site clean and let me know when they would be back and what the next steps would be. If they weren?t coming back the following day because something had to dry or whatever reason, they always let me know.

    With my health issues I was concerned about anymore spread of the mold. My skin was peeling and cracking and burning and I  had found out how serious mold could be when left unchecked. Riley took measures that he assured me was taken on every job to eliminate the spread using plastic walls, air scrubbers and dehumidifiers. The containment area he built was quite the site and it comforted me knowing they did everything in their power to ensure a safe environment for me to live in my home when this work was being performed.

    I was concerned about putting carpet back on the floor and asked Riley if he could install tile instead. He let me know up front it wasn?t included in the original quote, nor in the insurance estimate -  but yes it could be done and all we had to do is pay for the upgrade. I found the price to put down tile more than reasonable and he even helped me locate the tile I wanted.

    Upon completion of the work,  the second air test was completed and passed without incident. I have to say as a homeowner it was a breath of fresh air literally to have a company that really cared about what they are doing. They took care of my home as if it was their own and always showed respect to both me and my husband.

    In any renovation or remediation I expect some things to not go as planned but Riley made sure these challenges were handled quickly and within our budget.  When speaking with his office staff they always offered suggestions or put me in touch with Riley to again ensure our satisfaction. Riley never made us feel like he was too busy. I guess the difference between other contractors we hired and Option 1 is they care! I could not be more pleased. Thank you Riley and the Option 1 Restoration team.

    As a PS ? Just about a year and a half ago, we had ANOTHER leak  in one of our bathrooms and the tile had to be removed and the drywall and tile had to be replaced. Needless to say, we called Option One and Riley was more than happy to see to it that the water soaked bathroom was dried out and made sure there was no mold in the area. Option One took care of the resulting remodel job and repaired our bathroom and tile with the same expertise he?d taken care of our previous home remediation.

    I highly, HIGHLY recommend Option 1 Restoration. We couldn?t be more pleased. And my skin says thank you everyday!!

    Staff was professional.  the restoration team came on time. these guys really stand by their word, and that is extremely important. A nice company to deal with!!
    I had water all over the house.  they have to steam clean the carpets, dry the tile, take care of the mildew
     though special treatment... they removed all of the furniture and had it cleaned and once they were done, everything was back to normal.this was a very stressful situation and they were able to alleviate my worries.  they answered all my questions and worked with the insurance company... they handled everything from A to Z.
    I highly recommend Florida State Home Restorations.
