Five years ago I encountered black mold! My immune system has been compromised ever since! My bone marrow doesn't make white cells so I need a shot every week to put white cells in my body! Because my immune system is compromised he took extra care of my problem! He went out of his way to make sure everything was handled properly, he did a fantastic job!

I have used ServPro several times as have several of my Residents (I run a condominium Association).  Debbi and her team at ServPro have always been extremely responsive, prompt, thorough and professional, all at fair prices.  Water leaks can be disastrous if not dealt with promptly and correctly and ServPro of Deerfield has always done a fantastic job.  From water damage due to fires to sink backups, this is the company you want to use.

lI was terribly impressed with his thoroughness and honesty (and knowledge, of course) and would recommend him very highly. He seems to take pride in his work and know a lot about detecting and removing mold. I even had him look at some cushions I thought were moldy and he told me it wasn't mold I was seeing, but glue used to attach some material to the interior of the cushion.
It was such a pleasure to meet someone that honest and helpful.

The problem isn't so much with them as with their practices. Now first, I know that there are many, many, many less ethical mold people out there, and these guys aren't that bad. But they aren't the best at explaining what you're signing for, and like most contractors they really don't encourage reading the fine print.
My hot water heater broke. My plumber said "your walls are wet, and you have mold here." I said "but I can barely pay you." He assured me that my home owners would cover it, and that he knew a mold company that were reliable and would make sure that it was covered. On came United Water, again a nice guy. He too assured me the dryout would be covered (after looking at my policy, so again that seemed OK) and I signed a contract for what I presumed was the dryout.
United Water came, set up a HEPA Vacuum and an air scrubber. They scrapped off some mold; they dried out my walls.  Great! Then I started getting phone calls from someone asking about about "rebuilding my house" ... keep in mind my problem was that I had a hot water leak, not a major flood ... I ignored them. Then I got a rather terse letter in the mail ... addressed to a "Mrs. Booker" who is not me, and not anyone in this house ... again talking about setting up an appointment "regarding the rebuild of my home." I presumed it was a scam letter, like the ones you get from the ticket lawyers if you have a traffic ticket.
Meanwhile my insurance calls and says that my claim with United Water has been paid, and I don't owe them anything additional.
The phone calls started again, so I called them back. The FIRST thing I asked was "are you related to United Water?" The woman said "No." And then she proceeds to tell me that I signed a contract with them.
In the end I'm about to send them $250 to make them go away.  I don't know what I'm paying for as no one from United Reconstruction ever set foot in my house. I do know that the dry out was paid for. Further my home doesn't need a "rebuild." I did sign a contract, and I found it in the folder with my United Water stuff ... that and the name does indeed suggest to me that they are related.
So why lie? I don't know, but it didn't sit well with me, so I'm paying them off rather than continue with them. United Water was fine; United Reconstruction ... and the fact that the United Water gentleman had me sign a contract with them ... not so fine.
    YMMV

Excellent service! A++++ Gary and his team were on time, tidy, very professional. Seamless repair. I couldn't ask for more. Linda is so patient and understanding; very pleasurable to work with all. Quote was considerably lower than any others. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

For those of you who don?t plan on reading this entire review just hire Riley with Option 1 Restoration. You will not be disappointed.

My problem started with a small leak that was created by my air conditioner. The leak was slow and had been ongoing for awhile.  Being a ?hidden leak? over time it had created mold in a closet, drywall, inside the walls and behind the kitchen cabinets. My problem was so severe that the mold had gotten into my blood stream. (Not as rare as I had originally been led to believe!)  After the lab did blood work determining that I indeed had mold present in my bloodstream, we began searching and looking and found that the problem existed behind bedroom furniture and in the walls, etc??.as there was no visible evidence of a leak from the living space.

I called Option 1 and that?s when we met Riley. He came out to see how he could help. He was on time for our appointment and was very helpful. He had tests performed before the remediation started and after it was complete to ensure the mold was eradicated. It was a long drying and removal process since this problem had been here awhile. His employees all did great work and had a great attitude. They were so respectful and helpful I felt like their only interest was in helping me get better. The quality of work was great, too. Every night they left the job site clean and let me know when they would be back and what the next steps would be. If they weren?t coming back the following day because something had to dry or whatever reason, they always let me know.

With my health issues I was concerned about anymore spread of the mold. My skin was peeling and cracking and burning and I  had found out how serious mold could be when left unchecked. Riley took measures that he assured me was taken on every job to eliminate the spread using plastic walls, air scrubbers and dehumidifiers. The containment area he built was quite the site and it comforted me knowing they did everything in their power to ensure a safe environment for me to live in my home when this work was being performed.

I was concerned about putting carpet back on the floor and asked Riley if he could install tile instead. He let me know up front it wasn?t included in the original quote, nor in the insurance estimate -  but yes it could be done and all we had to do is pay for the upgrade. I found the price to put down tile more than reasonable and he even helped me locate the tile I wanted.

Upon completion of the work,  the second air test was completed and passed without incident. I have to say as a homeowner it was a breath of fresh air literally to have a company that really cared about what they are doing. They took care of my home as if it was their own and always showed respect to both me and my husband.

In any renovation or remediation I expect some things to not go as planned but Riley made sure these challenges were handled quickly and within our budget.  When speaking with his office staff they always offered suggestions or put me in touch with Riley to again ensure our satisfaction. Riley never made us feel like he was too busy. I guess the difference between other contractors we hired and Option 1 is they care! I could not be more pleased. Thank you Riley and the Option 1 Restoration team.

As a PS ? Just about a year and a half ago, we had ANOTHER leak  in one of our bathrooms and the tile had to be removed and the drywall and tile had to be replaced. Needless to say, we called Option One and Riley was more than happy to see to it that the water soaked bathroom was dried out and made sure there was no mold in the area. Option One took care of the resulting remodel job and repaired our bathroom and tile with the same expertise he?d taken care of our previous home remediation.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend Option 1 Restoration. We couldn?t be more pleased. And my skin says thank you everyday!!

Zach is a busy guy, super nice but you can feel that he has a lot of projects going.  .  Luckily he has great people working for him.  Zach swung in gave a quick quote and was gone and while he checked up via phone he was the guy who basically did the deal.  Then he'd turn you over to a sub who did what was needed.  Luckily for Zach he uses amazing people.  His painting team was TOP NOTCH.  Not only did they paint the house they came back ( twice) to make sure everything was just perfect.  I could not be happier.  Zach has a killer rolodex of skilled labor - He had a guy come over the next day and lay a travertine floor in ONE DAY!  Amazing!

I was in contract to purchase several units in a condominium association in North Palm Beach.  The units were being sold at a great price and I was anxious to complete the purchase of the properties.  I noticed a strange musty odor in the units (they were adjacent units) that I attributed to the units being locked up and vacant for a while.  When I noticed the smell was still there the third time I visited the units, I decided to hire an air quality expert to tell me if there was a problem with the units.  Rob was a fantastic inspector. He fully explained all of the services that he could perform as an air quality professional and helped me narrow down my choices based on what I was looking for.  He was very knowledgeable and when he walked into the units, he immediately said the smell was indicative of mold even though there was no visible mold.  I trusted his assessment so we ran several air quality tests inside the units.  Sure enough, the mold counts inside the units were through the roof!!!  He was able to source the mold problem back to an old plumbing leak that had been repaired but the units had never been properly dried out and mold had grown inside the wall cavities.
It would have cost me almost as much to remediate these units as I was paying for them!  If I had bought these units I would have been in way over my head and upside down in the properties based on what I was paying for them.  Now it made sense why the units were so cheap!  Sometimes the best deals are the ones you walk away from!
The $1,345 that I paid Rob  to test these units saved me countless thousands of dollars that I would have been forced to pay to fix the units if I had bought the units.
Rob was extremely knowledgeable and professional and his prices were fair (I was quoted much higher prices by other inspectors that I spoke to before I chose Rob).  I would recommend him to anyone who is purchasing a home or suspects that they might have a mold problem.  Rob is the right guy for the job and his professionalism and expertise come across in every aspect of the way he does businesss.

Our son has been having trouble with allergies.  After consulting with an Allergist, we had our house tested by an Air Quality company (also on Angies List).  They found mold in the A/C return plenum as well as exposed fiberglass.

I called 3 different companies to give me their opinions and an estimate.  Their opinions seemed to match, but their estimates did not.  Two companies (Affordable Restoration and another) were right in the ballpark with each other.  The other company was in the stratosphere.  The job was not difficult, but the air would have to be off the whole time and the water heater had to be moved, not to mention the need to contain the mold.  I decided to go ahead and hire someone instead of doing it myself and chose Affordable Restoration over the other company simply because of my interaction/rapport with the owner, Matt.
I contacted Matt on Monday 5/7/12 and asked if he could be out there on Friday 5/11/12.  He said he would have one of his workers out there between 9 and 9:30.  The worker showed up at 9:05.  They disconnected and moved the hot water heater, removed the old air box, sealed off the house/unit during remediation, sanded the wood frame, cleaned the a/c coil, built the plenum out 4 inches to allow for more air in the return, applied an antimicrobial coating to the wood frame, insulated the box with insulation board, and rebuilt the air box.  They even put down a hot water heater pan (in case the water heater ever leaked) that I purchased.  In addition, they left the air scrubber in the house the whole weekend.
Hopefully this will go a long way in reducing our son's allergies.
I would have no problem recommending Affordable Restoration, Inc. to anyone and would definitely use them again should I need their services.

Staff was professional.  the restoration team came on time. these guys really stand by their word, and that is extremely important. A nice company to deal with!!
I had water all over the house.  they have to steam clean the carpets, dry the tile, take care of the mildew
though special treatment... they removed all of the furniture and had it cleaned and once they were done, everything was back to normal.this was a very stressful situation and they were able to alleviate my worries.  they answered all my questions and worked with the insurance company... they handled everything from A to Z.
I highly recommend Florida State Home Restorations.
