Florida Palm Construction went above and beyond my expectations. They worked dilligently to satisfy a very stringent inspection team to meet Pompano Beach building permit codes and standard practices. They worked very well to overcome many unforeseen complications with my older home.

Once plans were submitted to the city and approved, work began on the new footer and floor. Framing, windows, insulation, drywall, electrical and replacing the ac fell into place. Our only holdups were with the city and inspections and the weather and constant rain. The work that Florida Palm did was as promised and more! Many thanks to the site supervisor Robert who kept all the workers on task.

Working with Hilder was a fantastic experience. I always get a minimum of three bids depending on the type of work that's being performed and I am glad I chose HT Builder. He is reasonably priced as well as easy to work with. He and all his crew always came as scheduled and finished the job on time and on budget. I wasn't hit with additional costs when he finished and all material used is high quality. My wife had the idea of her dream bathroom and HT builders created it. We are both terrible at making decisions and he came in with the most important input; type of tile depending on if it goes in the shower or on the floor, the colors and sizes as well. He chose the counter-tops, cabinets and other important accessories with our approval. His decorating experience saved us hours of endless choices and unnecessary anxiety. The only decision we were required to make was the wall color and if it didn't work, I can always repaint. I can deal with that. With the extension of the bathroom (we do live in a safe neighborhood but...), he did it in phases to avoid having a hole to the outside during the evening hours so we felt comfortable knowing the house wasn't an easy target to unwanted guests while we slept. The overall build-out was a big ordeal because it consisted of many pieces (demolition down to the studs and a new section of foundation and roof were added) and we were left in the loop as to each level but weren't burdened with the daily grind. I have and will continue referring HT Builders for any sort of contracting work.

Billy was great.  Friendly and helpful.  Called him the day prior and he arrived next day.  Repair was quick and neat.  Just what we needed.
We had contacted him via his website and did not get a response.  However, a quick call to his phone and all was scheduled and complete within a day.  Just pick up the phone and give him a call.

They did a very poor job. The patio is visibly sloped and crooked. The guy was nice on the phone, but not the most professional that we have dealt with. He recommended someone else for a different part of the job who ended up overcharging us as well. We would not recommend him.

Until they put the sealant down, the work California Pavers did was good. There were a few places that needed to be re-concreted. When they came to seal it, they didn't power wash it first and went right on top of sand on top of the brick work. It is very noticeable. They also cut through the electrical liner to the gazebo, costing me $300, for which he did reimburse me. He wanted to charge me to fix the problem with the sealant even though it was his own mistake. I will find someone else. He did have the best price.

The gentlemen who came out initially was helpful and nice. He came on a Sunday within hours of my initial call and gave us a ballpark figure of around $7800, but said they'd email us the actual quote. We received the quote the following day for $8030, which did not include the permit fee. We asked about the cost, initially they said around $700, but advised me to get the permit myself to save money. When I spoke with the city they recommended the contractor apply for the permit, due to liability reasons. When I asked the contractor about this, they advised me that their "fee" to get the permit was $460 in addition to the cost of the permit, changing the quoted fee from $700 to $990 for the permit, bringing our total from $8030 to $9020. I checked with other companies, I found that no one else charges this obscene fee, in fact the total cost for the permit is $225.00. This company's business practice of charging nearly a 100% markup on a permit is disreputable and unprofessional.
