Closet Design reviews in Lighthouse Point

After searching Angie's List and meeting 3 contractors and getting their quotes, we were happy to have John Villa and his crews on the job. The condo is in Lighthouse Point, 50+ years old and needed extensive updating as a seasonal home for us. John was great in communicating with us (cell, text, phone, photo updates). He looked after the needed drawings/plans and municipal and HOA permits/approvals. The scope of work included: -tear out, removal and disposal of complete old kitchen, vanities and shower, all doors, frames, all windows and entry doors, tile flooring including balcony, old ceiling and bathroom exhaust fans -open up the kitchen and install new cabinets, quartz countertop, new plumbing and electrical by code -install vinyl plank flooring with soundproof underpad -install new vanities and tile-in a new shower stall with frameless door-plumbing and electrical by code -install new hurricane-rated windows, doors and patio sliding doors -install new plantation shutters throughout -install new ceramic tile on balcony -install new doors throughout -install new baseboard and door frames throughout -paint everything throughout-reconsruct all closets. We are finishing our first full "season" in the apartment and love it. We've had family stay with us and take advantage of the second bedroom and bath. Everything works. We had a lot of ideas that John was able to do for us. But, we relied very much on John for suggestions, expertise and his experience.

If you read my other 11 reviews over the last 4 years they are all A rated reviews. I look for positive experiences so that will tell you how truly easy I am to please. First of all lets start with price. I have a fairly large house and I used a different closet installer on my former house and he did a FANTASTIC job. I wrote a review about him years ago and I need to find the time to do another. What the other closet company doesn't have is the big, beautiful, fancy showroom (or the overhead) that Closet Factory has. My wife loved the fancy showroom and insisted on using CF for at least our Master Closets even though the comparable quote was about 30% less. (Happy Wife Happy Life? At least I got a great big "you were right honey when the debacle was finished.) Lets just start with the fact that a deposit was given on or around May 30th 2017, they just completed the job in MID OCTOBER. In full disclosure lets not forget we had the hurricane but had they hit their estimated 6 week schedule, they would have completed the job months earlier. This is a Master Closet and a second Smaller Closet in the Master Bedroom not a new Structure. Now keep in mind I brought back in the other closet installer that did my other house and contracted with him at the same time and he did the other Five Bedrooms from start to finish in 4 weeks, punch list and all. From the beginning measurements were not properly calculated, wrong materials were constantly delivered to the job, the "soft close drawers I paid so much for were not installed, the special materials that were very specifically shown on the drawings were not where they were supposed to be and on and on I can go. Another pertinent fact for any skeptics is that I am a partner in a very large insurance agency that specializes in commercial contractors so I am very familiar with owner change orders and delays. THERE WERE NONE. Closet Factory had sent out at least 4 different project leaders on a minimum of 9 visits. Each time, the next person blamed the last installer and apologized profusely. Another tidbit, I paid for upgraded closet poles that were scratching from the hangars on day one (they were replaced with polished chrome but no credit was asked for or received). I had to inspect the closet every time they came and constantly point out blatant defects which were later remedied. Bottom line, do your homework, consider this review and others, and bigger is by no means better. If you want an excellent job at a much lower price, read my earlier reviews...

Mario has a workman-like approach to all aspects of the job, helping to organize for the best order of completion, suggestions for where to save a few dollars, knowledge of codes to avoid going in directions which will not be acceptable. His work is precise, clean and organized, he works a predictable schedule, charges by the week for longer projects. He makes good sense and really knows what he is doing. Never disappointed, will not look anywhere else for carpentry, or a variety of other detail projects. He is the best!

Kobi Sharifi did a great job remodeling my bathroom.  I had four bids on the project and Ocean was not the lowest, but they were the most reasonable and the most comprehensive.  Kobi worked closely with me on the design, materials and sourcing.  I provided the materials and Kobi helped me source them, and when possible he got me his contractor pricing.  He also picked up the materials when necessary.  He was helpful but not pushy in his suggestions.  He is a good designer as well as a good contractor.
His folks were professional, punctual and left the site cleaner then when they came each day.  There were few delays and they were a result of wsiting on supplies or special orders for windows and such.  Kobi delivered everything he committed to at the price he committed.  The minor differences were from design changes that he and I both agreed to in advance.  He is easy to work with, conscientious and takes a great deal of pride in his work.  His tile guy was awesome!
Kobi worked well with other contractors that we used for specialty items and I was never hassled or concerned with any of the work.  Kobi stands behind his work and made a couple of changes after we agreed that we had misunderstood the plan.  Kobi continues to stand behind his work and we talk occasionally about other ideas I have.  His pricing is fair, his work is excellent, and he is a professional contractor.
I  will be doing several other large projects in the near future and I will ask Kobi to do the work for me.  I'm sure that there are other professional contractors available but when you find one, don't let them go.  Angie's list is your best defense.  I give Kobi an A and would give him A+ if it was available.

After a water leak in the bathroom adjacent to our son's room damaged the wall in back of his bedroom closet, we decided to take the opportunity to install custom closets from floor to ceiling. We did not want the laminate or artificial wood that is readily available and very cheap, because they emit toxins I don't want in my home. I searched on Angie's List for custom cabinet makers, and interviewed about a dozen of them. They were all very nice and interested in the work, and they all had creative ideas. The pricing with all of them was comparable. Mike stood out to us, since he was able to answer all of our questions, had the most understanding about the job, and also had the availability of computer images and machinery to make sure the custom designs and cuts would be made and installed correctly. We went to see his shop, and were impressed by the cleanliness, precision, organization, and pleasant disposition of his staff. We spent a lot of time with Mike, and he was always happy to answer our next question and spend whatever time we needed clarifying the process in order to help us get our ideas on paper and then executed into the final product. He provided us with written computer drawings so we could see the details of the finished closet, before he started the work, and the closet turned out just as we planned. Mike was able to stain the closet to match our son's headboard and it turned out fabulous! It was certainly more of a cost than getting "big box store" self installed closet pieces, but it was worth it. The sliders for the shelves work very smoothly, and the LED lighting inside the closets are a nice finishing touch. It took the installer several trips to get everything done, since there were a few obstacles we needed to deal with, and Mike was great about sticking with the job and coming back until we got everything right. Our son's room looks great, and we are planning to have Mike make a custom desk to match, with dimensions that will allow our son's chair to be tucked in completely and provide him with the extra height he would prefer. We highly recommend Mike for custom cabinet work for any customer who wants real wood products in their home. His wife helps answer the phone and was always pleasant to communicate with as well.

They did a really good job. They did it quickly and the service was amazing. They did the job in 2-3 days. The were very contentious. Another company had been there installing a steam shower and had got some sort of material on my hardwood floors. He took pictures of it when he couldn't get a hold of the builder to have his guys remove it. He actually had his crew do it themselves and they didn't have to do that. They went above and beyond what they were supposed to have done.

I wish all projects were this easy! Nissim was great. Came with pictures and lots of ideas. He really worked with us to design the perfect master bedroom closet. It was a tight space and we utilized it to the fullest. Other contractors did not want to hear our ideas but Nissim not only listened to our ideas, he brought them to fruition!
