    They did a fantastic job, it was nonstop rain all morning, but Al took extra time to wrap every box and item in plastic to make sure nothing was damaged. Upon arrival in Tampa to a second floor apartment, extra care was taken going up the stairs as well as placing and removing the plastic. Very professional and great work ethic. I would definitely hire them again!

    Another mover scheduled to pick up furniture I'd purchased cancelled Friday night for the Saturday am pickup due to truck needing repair.  Called Jake at Eagle Moving (found on Angie's List) rather late on Friday night and he was immediately able to schedule me for Sunday. Two very pleasant and well-groomed young men contacted me to let me know they were 5 minutes away, and arrived about 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time.  Upon meeting them I felt confident they were qualified professionals.  After doing the paperwork, they got to work pronto and carefully and efficiently wrapped and loaded the beautiful bedroom set including a large mirror and headboard.  They carefully unloaded and brought each piece into our home - at one point helping to catch one of our cats who had run out the door.  Will absolutely call them again and recommend them highly. Huge thanks to Jake, Nick and Vladimir!

    Joe The Mover
    Called Joe based on prior reviews, had a chat about needs and expectations. It's virtually impossible to give estimates on the phone for this type of work, but from my description Joe suggested three men & a large truck for a reasonable flat rate. We agreed on a date & time, and Joe called me the day before to confirm arrangements.....a nice touch from The Boss - thanks, Joe.
    Sure enough, the crew showed up at 8 a.m. sharp, ready to work. After a quick walk-around to familiarize themselves with the layout and gauge the effort required, we all got busy. And we worked 'em like rented mules. They broke down three sets of bedroom furniture, loaded our family heirloom antiques with great care, and treated our household goods as if their own. We had already packed three generations of fine china and crystal and many other items, and let the crew do the "heavy lifting" that seems to get harder with every year that goes by. Loaded file cabinet, about 200 pounds ? No sweat ! Solid mahogany "Drexel" curved glass china cabinet ? No sweat.  Hot tub ? No sweat ! I had drained and cleaned it a couple of days before the move, so our crew managed to get it on its side and dolly it out of the pool cage and heaved it carefully onto the rear of their truck. We ordered pizza and refreshments for these guys, and took maybe 30 minutes to rest and recharge, then it was right back to work.
    Once at our new-to-us home, they went to work in reverse - every piece of furniture placed where requested, cheerfully. Even when my wife decided to move a few things, it was done without question. Furniture that had been disassembled was now reassembled. Everything was looking good, and these guys never once complained. In fact, there was plenty of friendly joking around while they worked, which made our stressful day much less so. We had so much "stuff" they had to make two trips - 25 miles each way, and worked into the night to insure that our needs were met. Almost 14 hours of hard work ! Needless to say, we are impressed.
    Of the hundreds of items moved, only one piece was damaged - a beveled mirror for one of the antique dressers was cracked when we unwrapped it. If it were not an heirloom I probably wouldn't even mention it, but I'm sure Joe and I can come to some agreement as to how to handle it - he is a stand-up guy.
    Joe, I'm truly sorry that I don't recall all their names but would like to give them the recognition they deserve. Please extend to them our sincere thanks for a job well done. I've already recommended your service to our real estate agent and to others, and will continue to do so.
    So many times we only read about things that go wrong. With Joe The Mover, things go right. Worth. Every. Cent.

    College Hunks Hauling Junk & College Hunks Moving

    I had interviewed other local Lee County Florida Movers but decided to follow my Realtor's advice since She has been such a shining Angel in what can only be described as a hair raising home buying experience.  In one area I will take full responsibility and that is that I believed them when I went along with the repeated assurances of the College Hunks Moving Dispatchers that they were the Professionals in this moving process and there really was no need to send out an Estimator!  I was told three times that there were "formulas" for this.  I retired from the Military and know from personal experience that anytime you spend time somewhere, you tend to accumulate things and I have a exceedingly large library.  I told the Dispatchers repeatedly that I had more than most because I had accumulated so many books which in turn brought on further reassurances that all would be well and that they knew what they were doing since they were the Professionals in this matter.  I keep mentioning this matter of being the Moving Professional because it was presented to me in a similar repetitive manner.  To complicate matters, the hot water heater in the apartment above me burst the week before the move and poured water into much of my dwelling below and soaked a large number of the packing boxes I had already and packed and stacked for the move....when informed of this, the Dispatcher stated was no problem and that he was arranging for 50 boxes to be provided to the moving team before arriving at my location to replace my ruined ones.  In the final wrap-up I was told that there would be a window between 0800-1000 for the team to arrive which was fine as I had a Friend at the apartment waiting to let them in while I went to the closing.  I submitted my $50.00 deposit to lock in the date and thought that if the College Hunks Movers website was even close to accurate, I should have a hopefully less stressful day.

    I begin anew here because I want to separate the overall poor performance and dismal communications of the moving company from the absolutely extraordinary and almost hopeless situation faced by the two poor Movers Matt Giannini and his trainee Brody.  They worked their hearts out and watching them try so hard, I found myself fuming a bit since I could see that they had in essence been set up for an impossible job.  I was at the closing when they arrived but I was informed that Matt's jaw rhetorically hit the floor when he actually SAW the Apartment with his own two eyes.  Only two movers (Matt and Brody) arrived with ONLY ONE truck.  By the time I arrived after the closing, they were already under pressure since not only had the company only sent two movers, it had scheduled them for a follow-on job at 03:30 because their fancy formulas must have told them that that is all the time needed to move my goods!  I noticed that Matt's cell phone rang frequently placing them further under pressure.  By 01:30 I was informed that they were already 2 hours behind.  They practically threw things into boxes and whatever was available to stuff things in.  I swear, when I went to unpack my sheets to make my bed that night, the garbage and other items had been thrown onto one of them and the corners tied together.  They left a full HALF of my apartment behind because they brought only ONE TRUCK!....but they didn't need to send an estimator you see because they have these formulas.  This was Tuesday, September 30, 2014 and I found myself feverishly dialing the U-Haul Dealerships around Lee County, Florida because the main office has allowed me one more day to remove my goods before they exercised their right to charge me another full month's rent.  I am a 100% disabled Veteran and because I had hired what I thought was a thoroughly professional Moving Company, I didn't think I needed a stable of healthy fit Friends waiting in the wings to finish such, when "The Professionals" left me hanging high and dry, the only person available to help me the next day was my Friend who Herself is in desperate need of a full knee replacement.  So, because of College Hunks Movers' bad planning and incompetence, besides paying them for a service they never completed, I had to rent a 20 Foot U-Haul truck.  Because of College Movers' bad planning and incompetence, my Friend and I literally suffered as we emptied the OTHER HALF of my apartment in the Florida heat and humidity.  We did this because I had to hand in the apartment keys by 06:00pm so we loaded the truck from 09:30 to 05:35.  Then we had to unload the truck at the new location through the night since it had to be back by 09:00 the next day!  I was so physically broken down and exhausted that I fell off the ramp three times during the night!  I stumbled down the side of the truck and smashed my face against the side view mirror and in the process broke my glasses which have cost me an additional $200 to replace!!  I later found out from my Friend that the Movers arrived with no boxes, none and when asked about this, they had no knowledge that they were supposed to bring any.  Other than the fact that some movers did arrive at my location, the operation as a whole was a disaster....I repeat, I do not blame the movers Matt and Brody since they had no idea what they were getting into until they arrived and found out they had been sent to try and accomplish in Matt's words..."An "impossible Job" and with a ridiculous time limit to boot.  Matt was very unhappy since if the Company had listened to reason, the Estimator they sent out would have been him.  Matt was nowhere near as unhappy as I am since I had to pay for the worst moving job I have ever had the misfortune to try to arrange.  I got on the phone with the Company two days after the move and expressed my extreme displeasure with the entire process....what I found out further has made me even more unhappy and feeling betrayed.  I found out that this franchise is fairly new with few movers and one truck so in truth it did not have the resources to move me.  An Estimator would probably have told them this but then again, there were those "formulas".  I will never use College Hunks Moving because it took my hard earned money and DID NOT complete its part of the bargain!  It left half my Apartment behind leaving me and my disabled Friend to desperately move it and in doing so has caused us both serious and lasting physical and mental pain!!!

    Joe The Mover
    Called Joe and set up a date. Joe called the day before to verify appt. The 3 guys showed up on time and spend 14 hours loading and unloading and were very pleasant and professional. They were very careful with our stuff, using blankets and cardboard between things so that they didn't get scratched. This is the first time I have ever moved where something didn't get broken or scratched. I was really impressed. They got things upstairs that I didn't think would make it due to the narrow stair case and low ceilings. I have used other movers in SWF and all I can say is this, the next time I move I will call Joe the Mover.

    I trusted Michelle, my contact, to help me with all of the arrangements as I had no one else to assist me.  She was very accommodating over the phone and promised excellent service.  I had asked all of the prerequisite questions and became comfortable dealing with her.  Michelle told me that past complaints were from disgruntled former employees.  I trusted her.  She also told me that Certified had their own truckers and trucks.  I found that to be false.  The trucker who delivered my furnishings was contracted by Certified Relocations and said that he did many jobs for them.  The bill of lading as compared to the actual amount of boxes delivered showed 7 boxes missing.  The trucker broke the dryer start knob, rendering the dryer useless, right in front of me.  He also broke 4 floor tiles by driving a heavy wall unit edge from the dolly into the floor.  A quarter size edge of the top moulding from one of the wall unit book cases was broken off and was handed to me by the trucker.  Another item damaged was the coffee table edge.  It is ground down to the raw wood, the finish sanded off.  It must have been rubbing against something in the truck.  Also, the top ornate corner of an old church pew was broken off and missing.  The truckers saw that also, looked for the missing piece in the truck but could not find it.  More than 20 glasses,  a hand painted plate and cup, 2 platters, and many other plates, all wrapped in bubble wrap, were broken.  All boxes had FRAGILE written with black magic marker on all sides and the top.   Also missing:
    a chain saw, 1gray toolbag service technician style, 1 blue toolbox filled with assorted everyday tools ?
    screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, hammer, socket set, allen wrenches, hacksaw and blades, etc., 3-4 dirt and spade shovels, tree trimmer saw with extension pole, 3 rakes and gardening tools, 1hand truck, 1 carpeted dolly, 1 carpet protector for under office chair.
    Those 7 missing boxes should contain a set of china dishes, a set of Cristal D'Arques glasses, vases, bath and kitchen towels and king size bed linens at the very least.  Those I am sure I am missing.  Unfortunately  I don?t remember everything in every box that was packed. 
    After going back and forth with Michelle, I was directed to contact the claims department.  It took a few emails and threats of contacting regulatory agencies before they would even get back to me.  As of today I have NO resolution to my moving nightmare.

    When putting my house up for sale, I moved some essentials to my new place and left some furniture such as beds, etc. in order to "stage" the property to its best advantage. I previously submitted a report on that first move. This report is regarding the second move after the house sold. Ken Brown of Pro Handlers was again a bit early, phoning me to check for an early start. He and his associate, Jeff, set to work and did another great job, taking care with pads, etc., and placing items as I wished at my new place. Once again it was a pleasant, professional experience with what I felt was a reasonable price. Both moves done by Ken have been as smooth and painless as it gets -- an all-around good experience. Although I hope I won't have the need, I would certainly call Pro Handlers again.

    Ken, the owner, phoned from the truck to say he was early and was it convenient to begin a bit before our scheduled appointment. He and Curtis loaded the articles into their large truck carefully, even removing the door-closer so as to prevent damage to a large sofabed. Pads were used in the truck to protect the items. They moved quickly and were very courteous and professional, suggesting I revisit each room to make sure I hadn't missed anything (not all my furniture was moved; I left some pieces for "staging" before selling my house). At the other house, they placed everything where I wanted it. I consider their price very reasonable and couldn't be happier with this experience, starting from Diane in the office, who set the appointment. I phoned on a Monday and they were there the next morning.
