Car Detailing reviews in Lauderdale Lakes

  • The deal got expired and they would not refund anything. They wouldn't work with me. They should be willing to work with the customer even though it's an expired deal. I spent hundred dollar for this.
    - Lavonne T.
  • I called to make an appointment for the next day. Jeramy was very punctual. He cleaned my truck and car in a sufficient time. The work quality was top notch. I will no longer go to get my automobiles washed. It costs just about the same but the time I save having A-1 Auto Detailing come to me is more valuable.
  • Tried to schedule an appointment, had some problems at first because of work, but was able to secure a date. Never called prior to appointment to confirm.  Never had any contact the day of the appointment.
    - Carlos L.
  • Had just returned from trip and car was sadly in need.  Looks and smells brand new.   They were prompt, professional, neat and I just can't say enough about how happy I was with the service.  Will definitely use again.

  • When I got the paint job, I was a little disappointed after the paint job. The way that the car looked, it wasn't finished. It was finished but it wasn't up to a standard for $5,000 plus paint job and I went back and talked to the owner. He did a repaint on one of the sniders and he recommended to me that there was some blistering on the edge of the snider lift and we thought that was because some of the materials that he had used behind the panel itself which was causing a chemical reaction so he repainted that and did some other repairs on the paint. Less than a couple of weeks after that, I came back and the same snider is blistering again and he said at that point, obviously, it's not a chemical thing, it's because tire is rubbing on the snider and he was going to remedy that because it was a problem that I had before I went to him for the paint job and after the second repaint, I have to go back the third time for that same problem. He said, "It's because your tire is rubbing against the snider" and he gave me the name of the company to go and get the front wheel shade so they would sit further inside the wheel well and stop the rubbing problem. After the first repaint, he told me to do that and cost me $300 and then I come back and no less than a couple of weeks later, it's bubbled again and he says, "I'm not going to do anything about that. I'll repaint the panel for you for an additional $320" and I said, "Well, I just spent $300 to get the wheels repaired after you had said you were going to pull the sniders and we did" We pull the sniders out but they're aluminum so they did not stay, they went to their original position and he hadn't told me that before so he left me expecting to pay another $320 and all told. The job caused me about $5700 because of the rental cost, my rented cost for him. My car was in the process of getting repaired for a couple of weeks. I went back a month and a half after I got the paint job done in March and he said, "I think you still got wheels rubbing" and so he gave me the name of the shop that does the work on the wheels, to shape the wheels so they'll fit farther inside the wheel well so I'm shaping off the back of the wheel where it mouth to the spindle so it'll fit farther in the wheel well and would not rub against the sniders. Month afterwards, after I did all of that work, I went back and said I got the wheel shaved, everything was done and he says "Well, obviously, the cost of the bubbling and the paint job is related to the wheels and not to my work. I will repair the panel for you, the one snider for you for $320 which is a bargain compared to what they usually charge over $00 per panel". In the first paint, it was 2 or so weeks that I was renting a car from him and then the second time when I took his car back, it was 3 or 4 days I was renting a car from him so I added those cost to the cost of the actual repairs and that's what I'm saying I came up with $5700 worth of paint job. I had talked to him and tried to negotiate the price down from $5000 initially and he said, "No, you're going to get a paint job. You're absolutely going to be satisfied. I will not lower the cost to the price of this because I know exactly what it cost me to do this work so I'll get you the paint job that you desire and there'll be no overs" and then that was a $5000 not including the cost of me renting the car for a period of time to get the car into his shop. He provided that to me at a cheaper rate that I wouldn't have gotten from other companies so I got a cheaper rental rate from him than I would have gotten from someone else as a service because I was already getting my car service there in their facility. I did not get the satisfaction. I was fully ready after receiving the car repainted in January until I saw the bubbling on the paint job on the snider and so I reserved my decision until I went back to him and got that done. And when I got that done, the repaint and he gave me instructions how to get the wheels repaired, I thought "Okay, great" so now the paint job is perfect and then within just a couple of days or a week or so after I got everything repaired, the bubbling reoccurred for the third time. I saw it after the initial paint job. I saw it after the repaint and I saw it after a month later or a couple of weeks after the repaint so I knew I had to get back the third time. There was no complicity, there is no accepting responsibility for any of that and he had promised that he's going to pull the snider out so it'll never be a problem again and he wasn't able to do that. He didn't tell me he couldn't do that until I come in and asked for second repaint and then he says, "No, we pulled the snider out because it's aluminum steel and the aluminum bounced back to it's original shape so we were unsuccessful in doing that" Overall, they were very cordial, courteous, and friendly. They gave me updates, I knew what was going on the car, where is it, what needed to be done, what additional work they were doing, what it'll cost me and there were couple of things that they did that they added in prices but they didn't charge me for the price in which absorbed by the other shop. Another thing that happened, I go to start the car when I picked up the car from paint the very first time, the car will not start. It turns over, turns over and it does not start. I had triple A, I had my car towed by my mechanic which is a mile and a half away to the mechanic shop. Back to the mechanic shop, he didn't have time to look at it. We dropped the car off, put it in for security and then I rented a car from Auto Tech to drive for the next 3 days because it was like a Friday evening and so I drove it to Monday, I paid for 3 more days of almost $90 of rental while my car's in the shop. The mechanic calls me up on Saturday and said there's a fuse missing here. Somebody has pulled a fuse out of the fuse block and that fuse sends a signal from the electronic brain that allows the car to start and so I said, "What?! Are you serious?" and he said, "Absolutely". He replaced the fuse and everything works fine but I wasn't able to pick up the car until Monday morning. I go back to the owner of Auto Tech and I said, "Is somebody in your shop pulled the fuse from my car?" He said, "What? That's impossible. Why would we do that?" and I said, "I have no idea but there was a fuse missing and the car typically could not start. It was physically impossible for the car to start when I came to pick it up" he said, "That's incredible" He went and talked to his mechanics and the people on his shop, nobody claimed any responsibility for that and he says, "I tell you what, I have other cars sitting out here. They drove the car up to the front, right in front of the office and it wouldn't start an hour and a half later" so he says, "I'll look at the security fix to show what happened" I never heard anything back from him on that but I paid around $300 including my mechanics fee, the towing charge and the rental for that to be found out and it was their responsibility. They didn't assume financial responsibility for that and even charged me for the rental car. The price is definitely overpriced.

  • I went to Auto Tech and Body in Pompano Beach to get my 2001 Lexus RX 300 painted.  The car was in good running condition, but the hot Florida sun destroys the paint.  In the past I had other body shops do "spot jobs" on different parts of the car.  After consulting with Chadia and Jay at Auto Tech, they recommended that I paint the entire car to ensure uniformity with the color.  In addition I told them about other things about the car that I wanted to recondition.  At no time did they say "no, we can't do it."  So I was pretty happy and hopeful that when I got the car back it would look great.  About a week and a half later I had my sister take me there to pick up my car.  Her first words when she saw the Lexus were "she looks brand new!!!!".  They really did a very good job on the pearlized paint and the clear coat.  Definitely the quality was what I would have gotten if I'd gone to the dealer.  But the dealer would have charge twice as much.

Probably the most surprising thing were the other "fixes" they were able to take care of:  new audio speakers, conditioned the leather seats, cleaned the headlights. They detailed the car and tires BUT they also somehow cleaned off the pitting that was all over the rubber window mounts.  Jay quoted me a price to replace all of the rubber window mountings (Hundreds of dollars), but he then told me he would try a less expensive way to improve their condition \ recondition them.  The result was so impressive I was speechless.  That alone was worth the price of the visit.

Everyone I saw at work & near my home after I took my car to Auto Tech and Body is shocked that the car is a 2001 with over 100K miles.  She really does look amazing.  As for the price, I know that they could have charged me more for everything I really wanted to do to recondition the car.  But I am grateful that they did not gouge me.  And of course, for Angie's List clients, if you bring in the coupons from the site you save even more $$$$$.  I am beyond happy.

  • They did a very good job. I thought that they were a little overpriced but the service was great. I had no complaints about the service or the quality, I just thought it was a little high priced. I would not use them simply because they are too far away and I found a guy that is closer.

  • Great experience! Eric arrived on time and after examining both cars, explained why he wouldn't be able to get the Camry back to its original shine due to the sun and tree sap damage, but said he would do his best. We were very happy with the way both cars turned out and we will use A-1 on a regular basis to prevent any further deterioration.

  • Called to make an appointment and was handled right away by the owner. He set up a time and place to have the work done and let me know who would be there. They then called that morning to confirm and called again when they got to the job. Everyone was nice well-mannered and did a great job.
