the display on my phone suddenly phased out last week.  i stopped at T mobile and their response was to "buy a new phone" even though this one was just over a year old.  I searched angies list, and even though it said this company was out of business, I called anyway and they are in fact, still in business.  The owner said it sounded like a broken flex cable but to bring it in to be sure.  I brought it in the next day, mid afternoon, and they had one in stock.  As I am in the medical business, I needed my phone back by the end of they day.  They did everything they could to repair it in time, including I think bumping me up in the repair schedule.  I picked it up at the end of the same day and it has been working fine since.  I am very pleased to have a working phone for $50 instead of paying out another $300 or $400 for a new one.  If your phone is broken and you do not have insurance, it is definitely worth checking these people out to see if it is reasonable to repair your phone.

My daughter dropped her new 4th generation iPod Touch on ceramic tile, shattering the screen. I found many places that do iPod and iPhone screen repairs, but this shop is near my home and office so I decided to give them a try. They quoted me a price of $100, which turned out to be lower than they should have quoted the 4th generation screen was more expensive than the 3rd, but the shop still honored the price. On the day that I was to pick up the iPod, the shop called to say that they found another problem with the phone a problem with the motherboard was affecting the display but that they called Apple and were told they could swap out the repaired iPod for a brand new iPod. Since the shop had to send back the damaged unit with the newly installed screen, we were charged the quoted $100, but we received a brand new iPod.

I love my HTC EVO Android cell phone ? had it since June. It runs perfectly well but I don't always keep my EVO in a case. Unfortunately I have dropped the phone a few times. Although the glass digitizer and screen are perfect, the front housing was cracked in the upper left corner, chipped in the lower right corner, and there were cracks at the power button and the right side volume rocker. Sprint's insurance does not cover cosmetic damage. Knowing that replacing the phone would be expensive and also knowing that I plan to keep this phone for a while, I decided to check around to see whether the housing would be easy or difficult to replace. After finding the part online I figured it was doable, but I don?t have the skills (or tools). I checked locally for a shop to do the work, and found Hassle Free Cell Phone Repair online. I called and found the staff extremely courteous and helpful. I explained what I had in mind; they had experience repairing other EVOs but did not have the housing part in stock. The part cost was about $20 and the labor quote was $20. They ordered the part and called me when it was in stock. They also let me know that after review of my job by the technician, the labor rate would increase from $20 to $60 because the digitizer was glued onto the front housing, so this would make for a more difficult repair. I was also warned that there was a risk that due to the way the glue was attached, the digitizer might be damaged during the course of the repair, increasing the total cost of the job. I appreciated their candor and advised them that I still wanted to go ahead with the repair. (I researched this later and found that the shop was being honest about the risk.) I did a complete backup of my phone, then dropped it off. My phone was ready when it was promised, and my EVO looks brand new again! This shop also repairs iPhones, iPods, plus other cell phones.
