    Verdie's Appliance Repair
    The knobs on my dryer were not working correctly, so we called Verdie's to check it out. He was able to confirm that the problem was indeed with just the knobs and not the rest of the unit, and replaced the broken part. However, on top of the approx $80 repair, there was also a $80 come out fee. The service was well done, but the price was high. While I wouldn't be completely against hiring again, I am more likely to try to find someone cheaper next time around.

    Sears Appliance Repair
    I had used them in the past with no complaints. However this time they get an F! I have an older model, so I preordered the part online. He charged me $240 for labor only to replace a part which took about 7 minutes to install! I called to make sure they hadn't charged me twice for the same part...they said no, that is labor only.! The part was $50 online..Total cost $290 for less than 10 minutes labor!

    Javier was awesome! He was super nice and efficient in his work. He showed me why things were messed up and was able to fix them without a problem. Very personable and sweet guy. He does AC repair too. Will definitely hire him again!

    Was in a bind on the weekend to get someone quickly to fix a frozen refrigerator at my vacation home. James squeezed in the repair time for Monday and the company sent text messages to confirm the appointment and let me know when he would arrive. James arrived at the exact time arranged, diagnosed the problem and fixed it immediately. Price was very reasonable.

    I called and left a message with my contact information and a description of the repairs to be done. Their outgoing message gives a website address where customers can also book an appointment. So after I left a message and hung up, I then went to the website and entered all my contact information and information on my washer (model #, etc) and no one EVER contacted me. It's so frustrating that they didn't even have the professional courtesy to let me know if they were too busy, etc. Obviously, don't use these guys if you need someone responsible and professional.

    The tech did point me in the direction of getting better and more even cooling in my unit and that was the only up side to the whole thing. However, the appointment booked online got canceled for no apparent reason, and then I called and they sent out a tech. But the booking process was more than a little cumbersome/time consuming. The tech was not very pleasant to deal with and after fiddling with the ice maker for a few minutes - truly spending less time looking at it than he did explaining the cost process or trying to sell me an extended warranty, announced that it was "broken and must be replaced" I'm pretty sure it could be repaired: they aren't' that complicated and he couldn't tell me what was actually wrong with it. The new one would cost more than my whole refrigerator.

    Elmo quoted $320 to replace the belt, pulley and over 1hr of labor, I decline the service since I knew what was wrong with the dryer, was still charged $85 for the estimate. Today, one day after, another company did the repairs for $155 and said the belt was not broken, repair took 20mins. Conclusion : Beware!!!

    A- Technician wasted time taking calls from other customers, while servicing my unit. Very unprofessional. B- Did not pressure washed the outdoor unit, claiming did not have a hose, like other pros have. My hose was too short, but he not even try. C- Did not check the entire ductwork system for air leakage and sanitize ductwork, using a infrared camera, as advertisement. D- The tech did not have shoe covers to avoid messing my clean floor with his mud and wet shoes, like other pros do. Ps: just because the price was low, the service should have been done as advertisement.

    Ramb's Appliance Repair
    It���s tough to know where to start with Rambs, do I start with all of the scheduling nightmares, or their complete lack of follow-up, or the multiple times they told me our parts were arriving ���today���. I didn���t contact Rambs on my own. I was forced into selecting them via an extended warranty I purchased at Lowes for my Samsung dryer. Rambs came out to my home in February to diagnose the dryer, and said that they would order the parts to be received in a ���few days���. A week later I called Rambs, after not hearing anything from them, and they said that the parts order had just gone out, and because they were delayed in ordering the parts. They told me the parts should be there in a few days and they would call me to schedule the repair. A week later I called again and couldn't get a "live" person. I left a voicemail, and a week later - after no return call - I called back again. I left another voicemail message, and again, no return call. About a month later I called and got a live person. They told me the parts were received the day before, and as soon as they were "entered into their system", they would call me to schedule the repair. A week later, no call, so I called back again and the cycle continued. Finally, I called Lowes to complain, and Lowes said they would contact Rambs. Lowes called me back and said that Rambs told them the parts actually hadn't been received when I was told they were, but that they were going to have the parts overnighted. Three weeks later, still no follow-up, so I finally gave up. I was waiting on Rambs for two full months, and not only didn't they get anything fixed, they constantly made false promises and hid behind their voicemail inboxes. Rather than stick with Rambs and Lowes, I called another appliance repair company (one that is highly rated on Angie's list). I called this other company on a Monday, and my dryer was fixed on Thursday of that same week. If you are stuck with Rambs because of an extended service contact, I would strongly recommend that you refuse to work with them and make the service company find you a different repair company. You will save yourself a lot of aggravation.

    Aaron's Appliances did a great job! I had a protection agreement with Lowes on this dryer. After spending TWO MONTHS with two different companies that Lowes sent out to try to get it fixed, I finally gave up and called Aaron's appliances. I called them on a Monday, the dryer was fixed on Thursday. It was the best $240 I ever spent. I highly recommend Aaron's to all of the other Angie's list subscribers out there.
